Glorious flat in the very heartbeat of Barcelona in a modernistic building of the renowned pedestrian street Portal de l'Angel. Stunning design with a just a sip of provence touch and a completely equipped kitchen/bathroom.
You will be renting a brand-new, huge 3 bedroom flat with 2 private bathrooms in one of the most impressive modernistic buildings.
Strategically located in the very pulsing center of Barcelona, my flat is at one minute from Placa Catalunya (you can see it from the balcony), at few minutes walking distance from Passeig de Gracia, Born area, Museo Picasso and the beautiful Parc de la Ciutadella, close to the beach and metro and surrounded by pretty cafe terraces.
Perfect for couples, small groups or independent travelers, Portal de l'Angel is the ideal, strategic base from which to explore Barcelona, according to Fodor's.
We are experienced airbnb hosts and take guest satisfaction very seriously. Whatever you need; from fresh sheets to restaurant recommendations or local insights, we're on-hand to help however we can.
• A bright, contemporary lounge with a comfortable sofa and a large day-bed (perfect for a well earned siesta after an epic day of tourism) as well as a coffee table right next to it (can't get more "siesta-lazy" than this). Large set of double doors open out to balconies overlooking Portal de l'Angel and Placa Catalunya. Just throw them open and let the glorious sunshine in (the apartment is full of light from dawn until sunset)! There is a big crystal dining table which six seats (great for long dinners with good wine).
• High Speed Internet: secure WiFi signal 24/7
• Kitchen: A clean and bright, fully fitted kitchen with all utensils, crockery and spices - just in case you get the urge to experiment with fresh ingredients from the excellent Santa Catarina food market at just a few steps away.
• Kiddies: For guests traveling with children, we are happy to provide information on stuff to do with kids of different ages in Barcelona and recommend a good babysitter.
Note: For more detailed information please just click Amenities above.
All bedrooms are large, bright, clean double rooms fully heated in the winter, with double beds and comfy tempur mattresses. Two bathrooms of which one with a shower and bathtub, WC and large sink, the other with the sink and toilet. There are always fresh white sheets on the beds and a big pile of clean white towels in the bathrooms.
Literally just around the corner is Placa del la Catedral, the amplest and liveliest square of the Gothic District, the scene for the display of the main events of Barcelona such as La Mercé and the weekly Antique Market as also meeting-point for most locals for a lazy afternoon. Spread around with sunny cafe terraces, street artists and historical sights, this spot in front of the beautiful 14th century Santa Eulalia Gothic church is where all the magic happens! The apartment is also just a few minutes walk from the beach, the Picasso Museum and the lovely Parc de la Ciutadella as well as most of the city's famous historical buildings and museums (see map). Some of Barcelona's nicest cafe's and tastiest restaurants are all close-by. There are also two metro stations just a few minutes walk away, the nearest of which is Placa Catalunya.
FROM THE AIRPORT: The easiest way to get to the apartment is simply to jump in a taxi outside the airport which will cost around 30€. The cheaper version is to jump on the blue AeroBus from the airport (7€ - leaves every 15 minutes) until the the final stop Plaça Cataluña. From here, we're at just 2 mins walk down Portal de l'Angel.
BY TRAIN: If you are arriving by train, the lovely Estación de Francia is around 5 mins of stroll from the apartment. This is also an excellent transport link to get to the beaches and some enjoyable day trips outside the city, for example, pretty Sitges, the Dali Museum in Figueras and the breathtaking monastery in Montserrat.

Well, what I would mainly understand under the expression "common sense", that is such a subjective perception of behavior and manners. I find it important to always communicate any extra needs or informations that you find important while being my guests. Furthermore, if you are a smoker, it might be common sense smoking on our rooftop (right above the apartment) but never within our home. To be honest, I've surprised guests even with their feet on my white walls... needless to comment this incident. Other surprises have been broken vases that have never been declared, so one is just waking up in the morning, people left without leaving a note, some cash, just simply talking about it... nothing.
Well guys, plain "common sense"...nothing else than it. :) Remember that you aren't in a hotel, even though I wouldn't behave as a disrespectful guest anyway. Thanks in advance!
The absolute Must for families!! If you're planning to visit Barcelona, this is the perfect apartment and location for you: you'll be enjoying staying in the very pulsing heart of the city, yet still enjoy the privacy of a family home. We have felt so cosy in Roberta's flat that my family and I actually extended our stay in Barcelona. We have 2 little children and therefore are very picky when it comes down to choosing the right environment to spend our vacations. The apartment is precisely as described in the listing and I can't help but strongly disagree with any negative comment retrieved from previous guests. This is Not a hotel, it's someone's home. For anyone having service expectations, they should never consider staying in a private flat. Roberta's constant presence has been more than appreciated and useful to us. She wrote us prior our arrival, sending us an insider bucket list of restaurants, hotspots and her favorite beaches. We have always been in contact with her throughout our stay and felt totally pampered by this vibrant, attentive host.
Appartment is much much older than on the photos. Very cold in the winter and with only 3 portable heaters for such a big empty space. Ok for young travellers on a small budget, but very inadequate for what we were expecting reading the great description. My girlfriend and I were veery disappointed and felt cheated when discovering the place. Of course we did't meet Roberta (who was very nice though her communications), but some young man how just gave us the keys and quickly left. I do not recommend this rental.
The location can't be beat. It was close to everything either walking distance or using public transportation. The place is easy to find and you are in the heart of things day and night. Couldn't ask for a better location.
Roberta was great with communication and very kind, she accommodated our arrival and departure time and was welcoming with great and friendly advise.
The only note I would make is that the free parking is not very close, the close garages are about one Euro an hour, so for 24 hours its 24 Euros.
All in all I would recommend this place and I would stay here again :)
We didn't see Roberta, but on the telephone she was nice.
The house was like a college dormatary. There was a new gas-stove but no gas. It was not possible to cook for 6 people and also the table is only for 4. When we came the washing machine was running and the floor had a cm water because the fridge was disconnected. Pieces of cloth in stead of curtains, almost no furniture or other stuf. The location however was perfect.
This was my first experience with Airbnb I was impressed with how smooth it all worked. The location was excellent and we appreciated the punctuality on our arrival of having the maintenance boy greet us. The apartment appeared clean on our arrival. We asked for a second key and a few extra dishes and we got them except the keys did not work, we got that resolved by finding the store that had made the second set and they remedied our problem for free. On our arrival I started looking around the kitchen and noticed some dirt under the stove and the fridge and asked the maintenance person to clean this, after a little resistance and talking with our host this was resolved.
The apartment was advertised as a completely equipped kitchen, there was a brand new gas stove, it had never been used apparently there is no gas in the building. We were staying for 9 nights and were able to cook a few meals on the equipment that was there with the help of extension cords that we requested on our arrival.
When we rented the place we told our host that we were going to Barcelona to visit our daughter and her friend who work on a private yacht that was to be in the marina when were going to be there. We were not sure how much time our daughter was going to be with us. They both returned in Barcelona, after being a away for one week, at the same time as we arrived, we all ended up at the apartment at the same time. When we knew how many nights they were going to stay I contacted our host with these details and offered to settle up for the difference in our booking.
I am a contractor and I have been running a house renovation business in Canada for the past 28 years, with 20 employees, so in my note to our host I included a few comments on how I thought she could make her nice apartment a little more pleasant. Simple things like adding a grab bar next to the tub which I found a little slippery when wet. I also told her I had adjusted a kitchen door that was not closing right and that I had tightened the screws on her dining room table that was a little shaky.
All in all we enjoyed our stay in this apartment.
I am a family man with five children, aged between 20 and 31 years old. I have been travelling around the world since the age of 17. My greatest joy in my travels is mingling with the locals and practicing the Spanish language which I learned to speak on my travels through South America 35 years ago.

My name is Roberta, I was born in Italy and raised, well, in several countries around the world due to my parents nomadic life-style. I moved to Barcelona at the end of March 2011. Not just for any reason, but for the love of my life. I know, I know, it sounds cliche, but hey, that’s how it happened.
In my “previous” life I worked as a Social Media Manager for a multinational based in the Caribbeans and currently I am giving sense to my position as a Marketing Executive in Spain. So actually, I have my Mediterranean life sorted out pretty well, but still, I missed what I love doing most: being in constant contact with internationally experienced people. And therefore, with help from my dearest boyfriend, I started opening our flats to the world and welcoming guests, trying to share with them this perpetual wonderland of ours, Barcelona.
It’s basically a never ending project, since I will continue introducing as a host all my guests to my world and guide them into this mysterious and playful reality that is my city. So yes, here it is.Through recent updates you will discover everything you can find, everything there is and you need to know. Only the highly necessary facts mixed together with personal experiences, tips and tricks.
So let me take you to my BCN…. and beyond!
Nos vemos muy pronto!
