Modern luxury meets historical character in this large turn-of-the-century home. Relax in your private rooms or head out - just 3 mi. to downtown, 1 mi. to Five Points or walking distance to a dozen local restaurants/bars. 2 queen rooms accommodate 4
My home was built in the late 1800's, and upon purchasing in 2013 I embarked on a full renovation of the property. While care was taken to restore and retain the historical integrity of the home and it's unique architectural detail, modern amenities were added and the overall aesthetic was updated. The result is a unique blend of old and new - the comforts of today and the character of yesteryear.
The rental includes 2 large private queen bedrooms and a shared adjacent private bath. Guests do not have use of the kitchen.
Interaction with Guests
You'll have a private and quiet space of your own, though I am available as needed to ensure to your stay is smooth and enjoyable. I'm happy to make recommendations on places to see during your stay in the Music City. Let me know in advance if there is anything in particular you'd like to do or see while in town.
East Nashville is vibrant and eclectic. One of Nashville's oldest neighborhoods dating to the mid-nineteenth-century, historic structures meld with new residents including musicians, young professionals and others who are drawn to the area's creative vibe, great food and drink and proximity to downtown. My home is walking distance to Family Wash (live music nightly and tasty shepherd pies), Cafe Fundamental (Nashville Scene's Editors Choice for Best Brunch), Eastland Cafe (great happy hour), Rosepepper Cantina (delicious margaritas and Latin fare), Silly Goose (farm to table cuisine) and many other well-known Nashville establishments. And because of the central location, a short drive will get you to Opryland, West End, Green Hills, Downtown or Nashville's other iconic neighborhoods.
There is plenty of street parking if you come with a car. The house is also one block from the bus or a quick cab ride to other parts of town ($8 to downtown via Uber car service). Downtown is 3 miles from the house, and the airport is 10 miles.
Other Things to Note
There are listed check-in and check-out times to accommodate other arriving and departing guests, but flexibility can be given when consecutive nights are not booked. No pets or children, please. And reach out to me if you have any questions!
Michael has a very lovely home - a beautifully renovated house on a great street in East Nashville.
Super comfortable room. Very spacious. I only met Michael once as we both seemed to be very busy, but he made himself available if i were to need anything.
This was my first Airbnb experience and it was fantastic. My sister and I planned a random weekend to explore Nashville and we wanted to have an authentic experience. Michael's beautiful home and expertise on great local spots gave us exactly that. The house was always clean, the bed was insanely comfortable and the location was ideal. Thank you!!
Staying in Michael's house was a nice and positive experience. His house is just 10 minutes Uber ride from downtown and 20 min from the airport. The neighborhood is full of interesting houses. Just walking around felt like in a museum. Walgreens and restaurants were in a walking distance as well. Clean, spacious, and beautiful, Michael's house was a great addition to the quality of my Nashville vacation.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Nashville! Michael's home is absolutely stunning and he was an excellent host. The private bedroom was located upstairs with a separate bath across the hall. We barely heard anyone in the house, however, so it felt like we had the place to ourselves. I would highly recommend this property and East Nashville is a great area to base yourself!
The place was beautiful, Michael is extremely friendly and his dog, Lucy, is the sweetest little animal ever. Uber rides to downtown were around $8-9, so it's well worth the savings to not stay at a hotel in downtown. East Nashville is definitely a little run-down in spots, but the immediate area around Michael's house is filled with similar remodels. (Plus we found this awesome little place to catch some football games - Village Pub - stuffed pretzel sandwiches and awesome beer selection!) Never felt uneasy about the area and we couldn't have been happier with our stay.
Michael's house was even more beautiful than the pictures. It was incredibly clean and my friend and I felt very comfortable there. He was kind and helpful when we had questions regarding the city. The bed is amazingly comfortable.
Michael was very welcoming. The room was large and comfortable, and everything was as described. Having a private bath for us was a huge plus.
The home was in a quaint neighborhood and very close to a bus line that we used every day to go downtown. Also, less than a mile away, was a small area with restaurants and coffee shops. The Mexican food was delicious.
This was our first AirBnB experience, and Michael made it a great experience.
I'm a native Texan who has called Nashville home for the past ten years. I work for a marketing technology company - when I'm in town I work from home, but really enjoy the many traveling opportunities my job affords me as I speak at industry events across the country. At the moment, my favorite places to spend time when not in Nashville are the big cities up the Pacific coastline, particularly San Francisco and Seattle. I enjoy the outdoors, especially backpacking, mountain biking and being on the water. After spending much of 2013 renovating a 19th century home in the Eastwood neighborhood of East Nashville, I have a good time hosting guests who are looking for a unique home-base to explore our fine city.
