PLEASE READ FULL DESCRIPTION to make sure this property suits you. Stay in our picturesque, private apartment in a quiet residential neighborhood where you can enjoy a leisurely 10 minute walk to Sunny Point Cafe, Firestorm Book Store & Coffee Shop, and other West Asheville restaurants, shops, music venues, and bars. It is a quick 7 minute drive to downtown, 10 minutes to the Biltmore Estate, and 14 minutes to the Blue Ridge Parkway.

The space
Your space is a private apartment is in the garden level of a charming and quirky 1920s home in a quiet residential neighborhood in West Asheville, walking distance to shops, restaurants, and nightlife. At around 380 square feet, the apartment is spacious enough for a couple of people on vacation, including a 150 square foot bedroom, a 193 square foot open concept living room and kitchenette, and a 38 square foot bathroom.

LIVING AREA - Your private apartment has its own entrance around the back of our home. The apartment includes an open concept living area with a seating area and kitchenette. The seating area has a smart TV with a Roku to you can easily view a variety of television channels or log in to your personal Netflix or other streaming TV accounts.

Free Wi-Fi is included.

The back of the couch folds back into a possible supplemental sleeping area that is six feet long from armrest to armrest. This is suitable for a child or one small adult. The couch is firm, and we include an optional mattress topper and additional bedding to use anytime a third guest (only an additional $20) is booked.

KITCHENETTE - The attached kitchenette has a sink, mini fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. We supply coffee, tea, sugar, fresh soy creamer, and microwavable popcorn.

BEDROOM - The separate bedroom includes a queen-sized bed. The mattress is a firm Serta mattress, and it has a pillow topper added to make it even cozier. On each side of the bed is a bedside table, equipped with a reading lamp and power outlet for cell phone charging. The bed is accented with decorative tulle fabric and blue fairy lights, which can be operated by remote control to turn on, off, or put on a timer. There is a closet with hangers. Inside the closet, we keep an extra blanket, pillows, a fan, an iron, and an ironing board.

BATHROOM - The private bathroom includes a sink, mirror, toilet, and shower. We provide towels, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, and a hair dryer.

SOUND LEVEL - We live upstairs, and this old house has creaky floors. You will hear our footsteps and our dogs' toenails, even though we generally try to be quiet. We provide a white noise machine, but if you are a light sleeper, or if footsteps bother you, you may prefer to book elsewhere.

SAFETY - The apartment is a legal, licensed, short term rental that has passed inspection by the City of Asheville for safety and compliance. It has appropriate egress, smoke detectors, a carbon monoxide detector, fire extinguisher, first aid kit, and an emergency lantern.

SERVICE - We are striving to provide a five-star experience for all our guests, so please let us know any suggestions or desires you may have!

*** NOTE: We have a strong anti-discrimination policy. We welcome people of all races, religions, genders, ages, and lifestyles. We are gay friendly and accepting of all guests. Also, our space is vegan vegetarian, but you are welcome to bring/consume non-vegetarian fare as well. ***

Other things to note
LOW CEILING - The ceiling height in the apartment is 6'6" high. In your private bathroom, the ceiling height is 6'2", and in the shower it is 6'1". Also, the bathroom doorway includes a step up, which is a bit quirky and requires that you watch your head while traversing that doorway. (The height of that one doorway is 5 feet 7 1/2 inches.) Thus, if you are very tall, or if you do not care for quirky construction, you may feel more comfortable elsewhere.

UNEVEN TERRAIN - To access your private apartment, there is a path of stepping stones leading down a hill to your private entrance in the back (see photo gallery). There is no handrail for these steps, and they are not a standard height and depth, nor are they perfectly level. Thus, our accommodations are not ideal for guests who have mobility challenges, are uncomfortable with stairs, or have heavy luggage they need to roll.

My husband, son, and I moved to Asheville in 2014, and we absolutely LOVE it here! We love the beautiful mountains, the local art scene, the fabulous restaurants, the breweries, the local music scene, and the friendly and progressive people. I am into business, reading, veganism, animals, meditation, and spirituality. My husband, Michael, is into hiking and photography. Our son, Ethan, is into working out and video games. Michael and I also own and run a website design and marketing firm that we started 19 years ago.
