The space

Juliette is my eternal neighbor from downstairs who moves to Australia for a year and leave me her beautiful flat for hosting good people who want to enjoy barcelona and take care of her flat. It´s a "petit" but complete flat situated in the heart of El Born, in a very old but tipic building of the medieval area. its a 2nd floor - no elevator -
It has everything you´ll need for a holiday: towels, sheets, wifi, microwave, oven, kitchen, toast machine, hot (URL HIDDEN) tv, no washine machine...
As u can see on the map, the flat is really close from everywhere as Picasso´s Museum, Palau de la Musica, Zoo, Parc de la Ciudadela, one minute from the gothic area, Santa Maria´s church etc etc
Ten minutes from Ramblas, Barceloneta´s beaches etc etc-
And very close from the Jaume I metro yellow line.-
The only thing i ask, in the name of the owner is to take care the flat as its yours. This means: that you have to respect it and respect neighbors, despite is a tourist building, some people live there too and once u leave, just leave the flat clean with rubbish outside in the street.
One important tip: Bamba is a dog who´s owner lives in the backyard, she´s free in the building, its important to treat her as its yours and trust her....she might look like bad mood but she´s very sweety, i promise!!!!!!!! ;)

Great apartment in a great neighbourhood. Quiet street with lots of places to eat and shop. Walking distance from many attractions including Picasso Museum and Santa Del Catarina cathedral and Caterina market. Also walking distance from one of the stops for the hop on hop off bus routes which was super convenient and worth it for getting to all the other places of interest in and around the city. Apartment has everything you will need and it was very clean and even smelt wonderful when we got there. It is in a old but quiet building so you have to go through 3 doors to get to your apartment which we didn't mind because it felt that much more secure. No elevator but apartment is on 2nd floor so not an issue. The stairs are a bit narrow so getting bags up and down wasn't the easiest but David helped us with that so it was fine. David and Sofia have all instructions and details written down for guests on the back of the main door. Free wifi was amazing! And grocery stores right opposite the building so very convenient. The apartment is well ventilated with two large windows which do not face the street. Not much of a view but we didn't care because we spent most of our time outside anyway. No AC but again we didn't really feel the need for it. The street is narrow so taxis can't go right up to the building. But it is a very short walk from the main streets. We got there sooner than the check in time so Sofia also sent us info about a bike rental place steps away that has storage lockers at a very cheap rate. Sofia and David are wonderful hosts. Definitely recommend this apartment to anyone looking for an affordable and nice place to stay in Barcelona.

Sofia's place was very central with fast wifi and comfortable bed and very close to excellent restaurants and bars. It's very " no-frills" so don't expect anything but the basics. Perfect for a short stay when you don't plan on spending a lot of time in the apartment. Thank you.

Born is an old, historic part of Barcelona with many alleyways and restaurants at every turn. Sofia's apartment is old, just like most the buildings are in the area, but it has the necessities for a brief stay in a central location. Wifi is provided, which is convenient. Guests should be advised that there is no air conditioning, only a fan, and that there are many stairs to get to the apartment. It should not deter the average person, but please consider if you are elderly/have health problems. It can be difficult to keep the bathroom floor from getting wet when showering, so be careful with the curtain and do a quick mop when done. A few more towels would be appreciated when staying multiple days, as the heat and humidity prevents them from fully drying between showers sometimes. This apartment is not fancy or modern but does have the basics needed for a short stay. We appreciated having so many restaurants and sights within walking distance.

Dear Travelers, I'm going to take an extra time to write this review not only because its my last one for Airbnb but also for travelers to whom Airbnb is selling photoshopped pictures. This place is maybe not for everyone. It is located in a nice area where you can find lots of shops and restaurant. But if you have to go to the Barceloneta beach, its 20min by foot, if you want to go to the high streets, its also 20min by foot. Also maybe because its summer time, the apartment was humid. There is no air conditioner. Due to that, the apartment feels stuffed. The toilet is even more humid. Coming across a few cockroaches was feeling like normal. For travelers with a suit case, there is no lift and there are 3 floors to climb. For me, it was not a problem, but can be for elders. Our checkin welcomer (David) will surely help. He's very kind. Message to Airbnb: Airbnb started as a genuine place where people trusted where there heading looking at the pictures. Today, many no longer feel the same. Please amend this otherwise you will lose your edge from people booking in hotels.

David was really nice and available, he let us check-in late (our flight was almost 3 hours late...) The flat has good day lightening, and the location is great; good food, shops and transportation around. But that's pretty much the only nice things I can talk about this place. The building is weird and pretty dirty, with cats and rubbish everywhere, the flat was also dirty, i had to clean everything. Even the pans, cutlery and kettle... They didn't even provide basic stuff in the kitchen such as oil or anything, only salt.
