Beautiful home in the hills just 10 minutes from Downtown San Luis Obispo, Cal Poly, and the Performing Arts Center. Guests will have a private upstairs bedroom and bathroom. The room has a balcony that overlooks the mountains and valleys of San Luis Obispo.
San Luis Obispo is about half way between Los Angeles and San Francisco, a great stopping point for California explorers.
Montana de Oro and Morro Bay State Parks are about 20 minutes away. Easy day trips can be taken to Paso Robles wine country, Big Sur, and Santa Barbara. Our home has close and easy access to Hwy. 1 and 101.
Be clean, friendly and considerate. Treat our home as if it were your own.
My friend and I stayed here just barely 24 hours and we seriously cannot say enough great things about this place! We really didn't have much interaction with Mary and Mike, due to different schedules, but they nonetheless made a terrific effort to make us feel at home. Like it shows in the pictures, the views are amazing and even better in real life. They fixed us coffee the morning of our leave and invited us to a few other snacks and food in their kitchen (which is also amazing). In addition, upon arrival they provided a nice list of recommendations of places to visit and eat in the area. The place is nestled upon the hills but not too far still from civilization-markets, shops, coffee, etc. If we ever come to SLO, we will definitely be stopping here again. Thanks Mary and Mike!
What a great time at Mike and Mary's beautiful home! Mary was out of town and Mike was a super nice host who made me feel welcome. I know the area very well and this is the place to stay. Great room with awesome views. Mike makes a mean cup of coffee as well. Can't wait to stay there again. Thanks Mike and Mary!!
We absolutely loved our stay with Mary and Mike! They are both very friendly, laidback, easy to talk to, welcoming, and helpful in terms of offering suggestions for things to do in the area. They were so thoughtful, offering us breakfast in the morning and cookies in the evening, and they made everything about our stay super easy and comfortable. Their home is lovely, and we felt so relaxed and refreshed there. It's beautifully decorated, and the location---in the hills and close to downtown San Luis Obispo, hiking trails, Montana de Oro State Park, and other local attractions---cannot be beat. We adored the private balcony off our room and spent a lot of time sitting out there and enjoying the view. The scenery around Mike and Mary's home is stunningly beautiful. Thank you so much, Mary and Mike---we had a perfect vacation thanks to you!
Mike (I was unable to meet Mary) was a gracious and friendly host! The accommodations met and exceeded the description, and the morning view from the room was indeed lovely! The neighborhood was quiet but only a few minutes by car from downtown SLO. Overall it was a great experience. Thanks!
Mike and Mary were very welcoming and their home was beautiful. The porch and view were exactly as pictured (except there were no clouds at all on my visit :D). You have a second floor room and bathroom to yourself so there is plenty of privacy but are also invited to use the downstairs common spaces as well. I was only there for one night but left very pleased with my stay.
