  • Myself, Wife and Sister stayed with Ruth for 3 days . Great Host , Great Location, Great Breakfast. Close proximity to Westport where we attended a Folk and BlueGrass Festival , had an awesome time at the Festival and also seeing the sites which includes Crough Patrick where St Patrick is buried, climb to the top if you are able , otherwise admire it from the back of Ruth's house . Overall we had a wonderful time. Highly recommended

  • We enjoyed a warm welcome from Ruth at her lovely home near Westport when we stayed overnight in early June 2014. We had selected Westport as a convenient overnight stopping place on a 3 week driving tour of Ireland without realising that it was the site of Croagh Patrick, Ireland's holy mountain (just visible at the left of the photo of Log an Aifrean). Ruth told us lots of stories about the mountain and many other things during an enjoyable evening of conversation and had many helpful suggestions for our continuing travels. Her home is very nicely set up as a traditional B and B. She made us a huge Irish breakfast in the morning to top off a very enjoyable stay with a very friendly hostess, a picturesque location, and a lovely home.

  • Ruth was an excellent host, caring, friendly and always up for a chat. Her B&B is in an incredible location at the foot of Croagh Patrick. If you want to hike the pilgrimage route up the mountain, you could not be in a better location. Westport town is just a few km away. Wonderful drives to Louisberg and all over County Mayo are also easily accessible. You can view the bay from the front of the house too. The room was very comfortable and I slept great as it was very quiet. Breakfast was also yummy and plentiful. Each night I was there Ruth lit a fire in the sitting room for all to enjoy. Great stay.

  • We had a very nice stay with Ruth which is very forthcoming and helpful. The location is outside Westport (a destination not to miss) with not much around, so you need transportation if you want to go out.

  • Ruth was incredible from the moment we arrived – our room was ready and waiting, she gave us a suggestion for dinner in the village, and when we returned that evening she proved a wonderful and warm conversationalist. Her traditional Irish breakfast the following morning had me fully prepared to climb Croagh Patrick, which sits right in her backyard. Ruth is amazing and I would recommend staying with her to anybody traveling through Westport.

  • Great breakfasts, great rooms, and exceptional accommodations.
While having breakfast you can see Croagh Patrick, natural light in rooms and tea in the room to sleep better.
The house and Ruth are the best of Murrisk and Westport.

I am very friendly and love to talk but would be worried about intruding if guests did not want to converse.I enjoy making people happy,Ihave 6 grandchildren that I love dearly,Icould not live without my Husband and family, nothing outside of my house is very important to me.I love to read a good thriller and watch some series on the tele.I probably sound boring but i have lived a good life,my husband and I have travelled quite a lot, mostly around Europe but we have been to Mexico and did a tour in the (website hidden) motto would have to be to live a day at a time, but folk have to plan ahead (website hidden) faith is very important to me,I am a catholic, but a persons belief is a private matter.
