Petis is a large, two-storey stone farmhouse, set in the countryside, tastefully decorated with antiques in a classic French provincial style. The master bedroom is on the first floor within its own private suite encompassing a studio room and a bathroom. The double room comfortably sleeps two, has a vanity washstand unit, tea and coffee making facilities. The large adjacent studio room can be used for yoga or Pilates. There is also a single bedroom, that can accommodate a further guest, if required. The main bathroom is purely for our guests to use and features a massaging power shower, WC and a further washstand. After a restful nights sleep in the comfortable bed you can enjoy a full continental breakfast with butter croissants and a selection of teas and coffee in comfort in the large dining room or eat alfresco in the peaceful garden. Thouars-sur-Garonne is ideally situated between Toulouse and Bordeaux and is very close to the popular town of Buzet-sur-Baïse. The locality makes it especially suitable for those wishing to enjoy a relaxing rural retreat, sample fantastic French food, visit the many fete's and markets (both fresh-produce and antiques), appreciate the lovely countryside, ancient buildings and historic sites, of which there are many. You can also cycle, canoe or even cruise along the popular river and canal routes, learn to waterski (in nearby Damazan), fish along the many waterways or simply enjoy visiting the many wineries of this wonderful region. All this and more can be found in the Lot-et-Garonne. Please note, if you are bringing a vehicle and/or a caravan, we have 2 off-road car parking spaces available. Cycles, boats etc are available for hire in Buzet - less than 5 minutes away.
Here at Petis you can enjoy the large double bedroom, a spacious studio room area, sole use of the substantial bathroom and an additional single bedroom. In addition to this, you will have your very own dining room and sitting room. Outdoors, there are some comfortable seats for relaxing in the garden. The combined kitchen/diner and reception room is shared, but there is an additional fridge-freezer for guests to use in the utility room and laundry facilities too. You will have as much independence as you wish and privacy is ensured, as I have my own bathroom and bedroom downstairs.
Interaction with Guests
Having lived in this area of France for many years now I would be happy to assist with any requirements that you might have and can recommend some local attractions, restaurants and so forth. I am retired and enjoy gardening (almost a full-time occupation in France!), scrabble and have two affectionate cats Mack n' Tosh. I enjoy the 'good life' here in Thouars-sur-Garonne, which is a welcoming rural community with extremely friendly locals. Ultimately, I hope you can enjoy some quality relaxation in a stylish home environment and this is offered at Petis.
Thouars-sur-Garonne is very peaceful. It is a small rural village, close to a river and with excellent road connections to neighbouring towns and cities. It is a great place for country walks.
Parking is included - there is plenty of space and also a hard-standing for caravans/motor-homes. The closest train station is Aiguillon (Lot-et-Garonne) with a regular connections to Bordeaux and Toulouse daily and there are a number of airports that connect to the region, namely, Bordeaux, Bergerac and Toulouse.

Thank you very much Wilma !
Wow! What a great stay we had with Wilma and Kate. It felt like we were staying with friends rather than in a BnB. In fact, we enjoyed it so much that we extended our stay by an additional night. The room is spacious, elegant, and precisely as in the pictures. A bonus is that every sort of toiletry/accessory/tea/coffee item is available, a very welcome surprise! We enjoyed the Buzet area very much, and thanks to our hostesses we found everything we needed. Lots of great memories - late night cheese plate a la Kate, scrabble with Wilma, and lots of wine. Our dog was also warmly welcomed and did not want to leave! I hope we can return to Buzet, or at least welcome them to our home sometime.
A beautiful country farmhouse with a gracious and generous hostess. The bedroom is as beautiful as the pictures, and the house overall is more so. The bathroom alone is spectacular - an enormous carpeted, luxuriant room that makes you feel like a princess. Wilma made us a lovely breakfast and made us feel at home. The house was also a great location for seeing the surrounding towns in Lot-et-Garonne and is only a short distance from Bordeaux. We would love to stay again. Great thanks to Wilma!
