  • It's hard to describe how absolutely brilliant this Tuscan villa is... and Annalisa! We're thinking of changing our retirement plans to live nearby! The villa is on a winery on the top of a hill with stunning views all around, and tables outside to have meals on and really take in the views. The apartment was perfect - two very separate bedrooms, and a good kitchen that had everything we needed. The incredible smell of flowers at the entrance had us smiling every time we walked in and out (but we were probably smiling the whole time anyway!). We were very lucky to be greeted by Annalisa herself who was down from Milan. Although the apartment wasn't ready yet, it was no problem at all - Annalisa shared with us a bottle of wine from the villa winery, and gave us a tour - the buildings and grounds are all absolutely beautiful!

All guests here should feel lucky - it is everything we hoped for! I know some people mentioned the temperature - the building is very cool, especially considering we were staying in early June. But this made it perfect inside, and we could snuggle into the warm blankets at night for a perfect, restful sleep.

The internet doesn't really reach our particular villa, but we had perfect access to it down at reception.

    Response from Annalisa:

Thank you for your wonderful comment and the advice on Internet: we've been looking into the matter for some time now and even if we are in Italy and have to cope with Italian technicians, we hope to solve the problem in a short time!
Hope to see you soon: Ryanair flies to Pisa airport and you could plan your next visit in Autumn for vintage-:)

  • The apartment is in an absolutely beautiful location. It is very clean and spacious with lots of character and has everything you need. The hosts are very welcoming and helpful. We absolutely loved staying here and would recommend it to anyone. One piece of advice is to think about whether you will be renting a car - we did not have a car and it was a little difficult to reach the local bus stop so we took taxis to and from Siena. We knew about this in advance and we were happy to do this.

  • We have a great great great vocation at Annalisa's apartment. Got totally relax with the good weather, good view, fresh air, and good wine, hahaha.... Host Grace is so so so thoughtful, she let us feel so comfortable at there. We looking forward to go back Tuscan when next vocation, and must stay more time, 4 days is to less. If you plan to visit Siena, the Villa of Certano is the best choice to stay.

My name is Annalisa Baldassarrini, I am a descendant of the Baldassarrini family who lived for centuries in the estate of Certano. I'm responsible for the management, maintenance and care of the houses and apartments that we rent. Fishing out things here and there from the rooms of the ancient villa of Certano, I tried to restore the flavor of the houses. In the days when I was a little girl and I used to go and visit the farmers in the houses we now open to tourists. I really like going to the flea markets in search of old objects and furniture to embellish our homes and create a true Tuscan atmosphere. I enjoy growing lavander and love creativity in general, and in the store I opened under the stable I create scented sachets and various crafts to offer to our guests. I'm keen on painting, decoupage, embroidery and creativity in general. Certano makes me feel good because it enhances my artistic side!
