When we stepped into the apartment we were overwhelmed by the space! It was huge - high ceilings, wooden floors - an eclectic styling and beautiful paintings on the walls. A true artist house that felt very comfortable. After a few minutes our iPhone was connected via Bluetooth to the stereo and we chilled out listening to our spotify playlist. Jean-Louis was very communicative with e-mails, was helpful with taxi contact, and borrowing the iron was no problem. We were four girls staying in Perpignan for a wedding party. The only down side was when we found out the bedsheets were not clean, and the toilet sometimes had trouble flushing. Other than that we enjoyed our stay! Thank you Jean-Louis & Aline!
The reservation was canceled 2 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Firstly, Jean-Louis is the best kind of host one could hope to have. As we arrived on his day off, he told us he would meet us at the train station and did so. He then spent almost two hours walking us around central Perpignan to familiarize us with its narrow and twisting streets. He left us coffee and even a bottle of good wine on arrival. He remained on call during our visit and was extremely helpful always.
The apt is comfortable if not luxurious. Both bedrooms had very comfortable beds. There was good water pressure and lots of hot water in the bathroom and kitchen. The washing machine worked just fine.
The only real drawback is that the apt is in a building just in the border of a poorer area. There seemed to be a group of younger, unemployed kids who made the square on which the apt sits their home. The square was therefore regularly noisy in the evening; partly also due to a small bar/restaurant. This did not pose a problem for the interior main bedroom but it did affect the front bedroom.
Other than that caveat, we much enjoyed our stay in Jean-Louis' apartment.
