About This Listing
We live in a quiet neighborhood in NE Portland that is near the Alberta Arts District. Downtown Portland is a short bus ride away and Alberta St. is only a 15 minute walk! Lots of great restaurants, bars and music venues, and other attractions in the vicinity.
We have a 1 bed, 1 bath space available for guests. The house is a 3 level, 4 bedroom. Our private space is upstairs in the attic, but the rest of the house is available for the guests. The main level has two bedrooms with a shared bathroom, your bedroom would be the back bedroom with a set of bunk beds. You would share your bathroom with anyone that might be staying in the front bedroom. The bunk beds also have a trundle bed, allowing three people to share this room: perfect for travelers wanting their own bed or parents traveling with children:)
There are also large common areas including the living room, dining room, and kitchen, which are all available for guests to use.
Out back there is a yard with fruit trees, a deck and covered patio where guests may sit and relax. There is also a washer and dryer available for guests to use upon request for no extra charge. We provide linens, towels, and toiletries. We also have hair dryers and an ironing board.
Guests will have access to the entire house, except for the attic area and other guests' bedrooms. Guests have full use of all common areas.
Interaction with Guests
We can have as much interaction with a guest as they are comfortable with. We can be available to check in, and then leave you to do as you wish, or we are also more than willing to socialize and show you around town. Whatever your comfort level may be, we can accomodate.
The area where we live is quiet and peaceful. But if you're a foodie, or looking for entertainment, Alberta St. is just a short walk away, and it has lots of great restaurants, music venues, and bars. We are more than happy to suggest some of our favorites. There is also easy access to downtown Portland via public transportation. Beaumont Village, also nearby, is a great place for breakfast/brunch. Wilshire Park, a 14 acre park, is only two blocks away. If you're looking for a relaxing sanctuary in the middle of the city, surrounded by unforgettable food, lively bars and great entertainment, you will love this neighborhood!
If you are driving, please park in our driveway, or directly in front of our house. If there are no spaces there, please be very careful to not block any driveways and to be considerate of our neighbors.
There is a bus line right around the corner that takes you to Hollywood transit center, where you can hop on a MAX line to take you into downtown. Or, if you don't want to switch, there is the 17 bus line, which is a few blocks away, that takes you directly into downtown. We are also happy to accomocate if you need a ride anywhere, for a minimal fee, per request. Our neighborhood is very safe, so walking and biking are also a great alternative to public transportation.

Zachary was really nice, even though I totally got busy and missed our agreed upon check in time. He answered a ton of questions for us, encouraged us to eat his chocolate (win!), and his house was really cozy and conveniently located. Great, comfortable stay!
Zachery and Jade were very welcoming and hospitable. They have a very nice home, clean and orderly. Next time I am in Portland I would definitely stay with them again. Highly recommended.
Zach was very helpful from the get-go and his place was very clean. Room was very comfortable and was located in a nice neighbourhood (nice bar and restaurants in Alberta St). We only stayed a night and chose it based on its proximity to the airport, which was very close. We met Zach briefly and he was super friendly, apart from that didn't see anyone the whole time. Would definitely recommend staying with Zach.
While we were not in the same place at the same time, Zachary made sure we had all the information we needed to get in and get around! We got into Portland late, and even in the dark we were able to get around and enjoy the house. While our stay was quick, it was super convenient and we had everything we needed. The pictures and descriptions are right on, and their house is lovely! Great experience! I only give it 4 stars because we weren't there enough to enjoy it thoroughly!
Zachary was available and welcoming when we arrived. Accommodations were great, and it's an easy and convenient location. Everything was clean, beds and bedding were super comfortable, and I was very glad to see that he had contact solution, a hairdryer, and a coffee maker available for his guests! The guests staying in other rooms were also very kind (and we only saw them once).

About the Host, Zachary
Jade and I are pretty easy going. We are well traveled and enjoy helping out fellow travelers. We have been to 30+ countries between the two of us and enjoy sharing stories and experiences.
I enjoy watching movies and reading a good book. I am also a music fanatic. My favorite food is probably Thai food, but it's tough to decide.
My favorite place I've been out of the country so far is Finland. There's just a pleasant wildness about the place that I enjoyed. My favorite place within the country is, of course, Portland! The Northwest is a wonderful area to visit.
I believe in living life, so that when I pass on, I can look back on my life and have great memories and as little regret as possible. That's one of the reasons I've tried to travel so much.
We hope to provide people with a pleasant stay and an opportunity to get the most out of their visit to Portland.
