We live in a quiet neighborhood in NE Portland that is near the Alberta Arts District. Downtown Portland is a short bus ride away and Alberta St. is only a 15 minute walk! Lots of great restaurants, bars and music venues, and other attractions in the vicinity.
We have a 1 bed, 1 bath space available for guests. The house is a 3 level, 4 bedroom. Our private space is upstairs in the attic, but the rest of the house is available for the guests. The main level has two bedrooms with a shared bathroom, your bedroom would be the back bedroom with a set of bunk beds. You would share your bathroom with anyone that might be staying in the front bedroom. The bunk beds also have a trundle bed, allowing three people to share this room: perfect for travelers wanting their own bed or parents traveling with children:)
There are also large common areas including the living room, dining room, and kitchen, which are all available for guests to use.
Out back there is a yard with fruit trees, a deck and covered patio where guests may sit and relax. There is also a washer and dryer available for guests to use upon request for no extra charge. We provide linens, towels, and toiletries. We also have hair dryers and an ironing board.
Guests will have access to the entire house, except for the attic area and other guests' bedrooms. Guests have full use of all common areas.
We can have as much interaction with a guest as they are comfortable with. We can be available to check in, and then leave you to do as you wish, or we are also more than willing to socialize and show you around town. Whatever your comfort level may be, we can accomodate.
The area where we live is quiet and peaceful. But if you're a foodie, or looking for entertainment, Alberta St. is just a short walk away, and it has lots of great restaurants, music venues, and bars. We are more than happy to suggest some of our favorites. There is also easy access to downtown Portland via public transportation. Beaumont Village, also nearby, is a great place for breakfast/brunch. Wilshire Park, a 14 acre park, is only two blocks away. If you're looking for a relaxing sanctuary in the middle of the city, surrounded by unforgettable food, lively bars and great entertainment, you will love this neighborhood!
If you are driving, please park in our driveway, or directly in front of our house. If there are no spaces there, please be very careful to not block any driveways and to be considerate of our neighbors.
There is a bus line right around the corner that takes you to Hollywood transit center, where you can hop on a MAX line to take you into downtown. Or, if you don't want to switch, there is the 17 bus line, which is a few blocks away, that takes you directly into downtown. We are also happy to accomocate if you need a ride anywhere, for a minimal fee, per request. Our neighborhood is very safe, so walking and biking are also a great alternative to public transportation.
We are happy to include and airport pickup/dropoff in your booking. Be sure to ask when you book the room if you would like to be picked up/dropped off, and we will put you in our schedule. The drive is approximately 15 minutes.
We do have two cats, but they live upstairs in our private space and are not allowed in the common areas or guest bedrooms. Our dog lives exclusively outside in our backyard, and we know she would love some good pets if you're a dog person:) She is a Great Pyrenees, about 6 years old, around 80 lbs, and is very quiet, calm and well-behaved.

I had a friend visit me from Texas, I currently live in Seattle. On a whim, we booked the room at Zach and Jade's wonderful place. We were in town for 2 days, and everything worked out perfectly. One thing I like is that Zach and Jade gave us privacy and weren't intrusive. On the other hand, you can easily sit down and talk with them. If you're passing through Portland, stop by Zach and Jade's place!
It was a great way to stay in Portland and it was a really nice house!
A wonderful stay with such kind people!
I really enjoy my stay with Zach. It was nice clean and quiet. Great location: just a quick drive or walk to just about anywhere.
Zach and Jade were very nice hosts. The room was as described and the beds were quite comfy. The house is close to bus lines and a nice walk to NE Alberta street which is full of shops, restaurants, coffee shops, and bars. Excellent location and safe area.
Fantastic, clean, welcoming place to stay! I highly recommend this place.
This house is in a great location. Very close to Alberta Street for lots of bars and restaurants. Quiet street with lots of parking. The house is very clean and cozy and our hosts had lots of recommendations for us. We really enjoyed our stay here and in Portland.
super lovely green house and warm stay！
Zach's house is amazing, highly highly recommended! We stayed in the bunk bed room one night and the suite for our second night. The entire house was incredibly clean and comfortable. We were out exploring the city most of the time (speaking of which there are some awesome shops/restaurants/bars within walking distance) so we never crossed paths with Zach but he was super quick to respond to all of my inquiries. This was the perfect place to rest our heads for our Portland visit and the price was beyond fair.
Zach and Jade were very friendly and pleasant hosts! The house is large and spacious and in a convenient location to catch local bus routes that take you all over the city. I enjoyed thumbing through their library, and was thankful for the Portland guidebooks Zach and Jade leave out near the front entrance. I used them to map out several city walks
The bunk beds were very cozy, my room was always warm, the water temperature was consistently glorious, and those few essentials were always welcome after a breezy, brisk Portland day.
