We live in a quiet neighborhood in NE Portland that is near the Alberta Arts District. Downtown Portland is a short bus ride away and Alberta St. is only a 15 minute walk! Lots of great restaurants, bars and music venues, and other attractions in the vicinity.
We have a 1 bed, 1 bath space available for guests. The house is a 3 level, 4 bedroom. Our private space is upstairs in the attic, but the rest of the house is available for the guests. The main level has two bedrooms with a shared bathroom, your bedroom would be the large front bedroom with a gorgeous four-poster bed. You would share your bathroom with anyone that might be staying in the back bedroom.
There are also large common areas including the living room, dining room, and kitchen, which are all available for guests to use.
Out back there is a yard with fruit trees, a deck and covered patio where guests may sit and relax. There is also a washer and dryer available for guests to use upon request for no extra charge. We provide linens, towels, and toiletries. We also have hair dryers and an ironing board.
Guests will have access to the entire house, except for the attic area and other guests' bedrooms. Guests have full use of all common areas.
Interaction with Guests
We can have as much interaction with a guest as they are comfortable with. We can be available to check in, and then leave you to do as you wish, or we are also more than willing to socialize and show you around town. Whatever your comfort level may be, we can accomodate.
The area where we live is quiet and peaceful. But if you're a foodie, or looking for entertainment, Alberta St. is just a short walk away, and it has lots of great restaurants, music venues, and bars. We are more than happy to suggest some of our favorites. There is also easy access to downtown Portland via public transportation. Beaumont Village, also nearby, is a great place for breakfast/brunch. Wilshire Park, a 14 acre park, is only two blocks away. If you're looking for a relaxing sanctuary in the middle of the city, surrounded by unforgettable food, lively bars and great entertainment, you will love this neighborhood!
If you are driving, please park in our driveway, or directly in front of our house. If there are no spaces there, please be very careful to not block any driveways and to be considerate of our neighbors.
There is a bus line right around the corner that takes you to Hollywood transit center, where you can hop on a MAX line to take you into downtown. Or, if you don't want to switch, there is the 17 bus line, which is a few blocks away, that takes you directly into downtown. We are also happy to accomocate if you need a ride anywhere, for a minimal fee, per request. Our neighborhood is very safe, so walking and biking are also a great alternative to public transportation.
Other Things to Note
Guests must mention if they are traveling with a RV or large vehicle + trailer, and must acquire pre-approval before booking.
We are happy to include and airport pickup/dropoff in your booking. Be sure to ask when you book the room if you would like to be picked up/dropped off, and we will put you in our schedule. The drive is approximately 15 minutes.
We do have two cats, but they live upstairs in our private space and are not allowed in the common areas or guest bedrooms. Our dog lives exclusively outside in our backyard, and we know she would love some good pets if you're a dog person:) She is a Great Pyrenees, about 6 years old, around 80 lbs, and is very quiet, calm and well-behaved.

Nice spacious room. Very well put together house! Quiet neighborhood. Host provided plenty of local beta. I was mostly in and out but everything was well provided.
Zachary is a great host and his home is lovely!
I was looking for a last minute room for the night and really appreciated how quickly he responded to my request. I was warmly welcomed, shown where things were, and Zachary made sure I had everything I needed. He is open and friendly, and I enjoyed our conversations in passing in the kitchen.
The room itself was spacious and bright, and the house is set up in a way that made me feel at home - comfortable making food and hanging out in the living room (and not like I was intruding on anyone's space). I had only brief interactions with the other AirBnB guests, and they were all positive. It's a nice neighborhood too.
I would definitely recommend staying here!
Zachary was very friendly and accommodating due to my late flight. The place was awesome and clean in a great neighborhood. Thank you!
We were looking for a place to stay in Portland (very spontaneous). This place was perfect, clean, light flooded, close to Alberta street, where we had wonderful breakfast... Great, we'd love to come back some time!!
Good value, great part of Portland, excellent host. The house was comfortable and everything you need was available.
Zachary was very helpful and welcoming. We didn't really get a chance to actually meet him and Jade due to our odd time schedules, but they kept us in the loop with what was going on. House was very clean and they even left towels out for us. Great place to stay! Thanks!

Jade and I are pretty easy going. We are well traveled and enjoy helping out fellow travelers. We have been to 30+ countries between the two of us and enjoy sharing stories and experiences.
I enjoy watching movies and reading a good book. I am also a music fanatic. My favorite food is probably Thai food, but it's tough to decide.
My favorite place I've been out of the country so far is Finland. There's just a pleasant wildness about the place that I enjoyed. My favorite place within the country is, of course, Portland! The Northwest is a wonderful area to visit.
I believe in living life, so that when I pass on, I can look back on my life and have great memories and as little regret as possible. That's one of the reasons I've tried to travel so much.
We hope to provide people with a pleasant stay and an opportunity to get the most out of their visit to Portland.
