We live in a quiet neighborhood in NE Portland that is near the Alberta Arts District. Downtown Portland is a short bus ride away and Alberta St. is only a 15 minute walk! There are a lot of great restaurants, music venues, bars and lounges in the vicinity. Foodies welcome:)
We have a 3 bedroom, 2 bath space available for guests. The house is 3 levels with 4 bedrooms. Our private space is upstairs in the attic and the rest of the 3bed/2bath space is available for guests. On the main level we have one large bedroom with a queen sized, four-poster bed, and a medium sized bedroom with a set of bunk beds with pillow-top mattresses. These two rooms share a bathroom. In the basement there is a Master bedroom with a queen sized bed, complete with a memory foam mattress, and a private bath with a claw-foot tub.
There are also large common areas including the living room, dining room, and kitchen, which are all for guest use. Additionally, we have set up a common area on the lower level specifically for guests to relax and enjoy some privacy.
Out back there is a yard with fruit trees, a deck and covered patio where guests may sit and relax. There is also a washer and dryer available for guests to use upon request for no extra charge. We provide linens, towels, and toiletries. We also have hair dryers and an ironing board.
Guests will have access to the entire house, except for the attic area, which is our private space. Guests have full use of all common areas. We may come into the kitchen every once in a while to fix a meal, but other than that, the house is yours!
We can have as much interaction with a guest as they are comfortable with. We can be available to check in, and then leave you to do as you wish, or we are also more than willing to socialize and show you around town. Whatever your comfort level may be, we can accomodate.
The area where we live is quiet and peaceful. But if you're a foodie, or looking for entertainment, Alberta St. is just a short walk away, and it has lots of great restaurants, music venues, and bars. We are more than happy to suggest some of our favorites. There is also easy access to downtown Portland via public transportation. Beaumont Village, also nearby, is a great place for breakfast/brunch. Wilshire Park, a 14 acre park, is only two blocks away. If you're looking for a relaxing sanctuary in the middle of the city, surrounded by unforgettable food, lively bars and great entertainment, you will love this neighborhood!
If you are driving, please park in our driveway, or directly in front of our house. If there are no spaces there, please be very careful to not block any driveways and to be considerate of our neighbors.
There is a bus line right around the corner that takes you to Hollywood transit center, where you can hop on a MAX line to take you into downtown. Or, if you don't want to switch, there is the 17 bus line, which is a few blocks away, that takes you directly into downtown. We are also happy to accomocate if you need a ride anywhere, for a minimal fee, per request. Our neighborhood is very safe, so walking and biking are also a great alternative to public transportation.
We are happy to include and airport pickup/dropoff in your booking. Be sure to ask when you book the room if you would like to be picked up/dropped off, and we will put you in our schedule. The drive is approximately 15 minutes.
We do have two cats, but they live upstairs in our private space and are not allowed in the common areas or guest bedrooms. Our dog lives exclusively outside in our backyard, and we know she would love some good pets if you're a dog person:) She is a Great Pyrenees, about 6 years old, around 80 lbs, and is very quiet, calm and well-behaved.

We enjoyed our stay at 4405. This was a great deal for the price. It was like a house and not like a typical bed and breakfast but that's what I signed up for. We ended up with 7 guests and it was doable. I wouldn't recommend having 8 stay unless in a pinch. If you're sensitive to crowding, maybe 6 guests is optimum. The master bedroom downstairs has a charcoal loveseat that folds out onto the floor. The two rooms with queen beds are a little drafty but they provided a space heater. This loveseat works best for back sleepers since the hard part is a rib poking irritant for side sleepers. The hosts were out of town part of the time, but even when they were there, we hardly noticed. The door to their attic room is off the main floor dining room, so we were careful to keep the noise down while eating our wheaties in the morning. The place was cozy and it looks like this young couple is making ongoing home improvements. They had most of the soaps and shampoo stuff, tampons, coffee and tea that you would need, a hair dryer in the upstairs bathroom, an iron down in the basement and plenty of sheets and pillows. We appreciated that the house was close to New Seasons Market and McMenamin's Kennedy School. Kennedy School is awesome because it has several bars in one spot and a movie theatre (three third run films). It's about a 15 minute walk to all the Alberta St happenings. We drove downtown and to the convention center and bussing would have taken about 30 minutes a transfer or multiple modes of transportation. Albeit, Portland has frequent and reliable transport. While visiting PDX, we tried Pok Pok and Pazzo and ate well. Those two picks never fail. Also, Nicholas restaurant can't be beat for middle eastern fare. We used a lockbox to get in and out of the rental and that was easy since we had such a large group. Also, getting things setup with Airbnb so I could cover my bases for company expense accounts was a little tricky and Zachary was great about helping me get that sorted. Great communication always helps. Thanks guys!
Zach and Jade were lovely hosts. Home was spacious and in a great neighborhood- close to many restaurants. Bed in basement level was super comfy! Only thing I would suggest is to add a TV in one room- I know you are here to see Portland, but my parents were with me and I know they would have enjoyed that in the evenings. I would definitely recommend.
These guys were super friendly and have a put together a very comfortable space... as an added bonus, there is a wonderful mix of board games and books on the shelves to while away the hours. It was a pleasure being snowed in there for the weekend.
Because of the very big snowing in Portland, we could not get Portland on the time, Zachary is very nice. He refund me and care for us. His house is warm and good. The location is very good near Alberta arts area. Thanks so much for them.
Wonderful hosts! The home was beautiful and the hosts made sure that all the essentials were taken care of. We had fun playing few board games and were chatting till 2AM. Would stay at this place again in the future!
We had a great time. Lots of space to hang out and great eateries close-by!!
We had great experience staying at this house! We needed a space for a large group and this was THE spot. The house was cozy and clean and we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Both hosts were welcoming and very easy going (even during one of our slightly rowdy late night Cards Against Humanity games!). I'd definitely recommend this place to friends looking for a place to stay in Portland.
Zachary and Jade were lovely hosts. First of all, they have a charming house in an interesting part of town (near Alberta). They left us a Christmas tree and lights, and a log for the fire so we had a very Christmasy spirit going on with all my family that was staying there.
They made coffee and tea available to us, and my own bed (the bottom bunk) was very comfortable with comfortable bedding. I don't know if they were all that comfortable or not. There were games to play -- no TV that I saw, which suited us fine. We stayed up late, and I'm afraid the kids made some noise, but Zachary/Jade didn't seem to mind. They were very accommodating when a serious illness struck a member of our party and we had to stay an extra night.
The basement is not quite as warm and cozy, but the first floor was very welcoming.
They were both friendly, but not intrusive. I would definitely recommend this home for you.
Excellent experience, all around. This was my first time using Airbnb and it was even better than I'd hoped. The house was great, perfect for our (group of 7) needs. And Zach and Jade were solid hosts. We stayed two days and we had all the privacy we needed. However, they even gave us great advice on where to go around town and made themselves available if we had questions. I'd definitely recommend staying here to anyone spending time in Portland!
Staying here at Zack and Jade's has been perfect for my touring tango quintet. We loved the tranquility of the neighborhood and the unique and comfortable decor. They've obviously put a lot of thought into making the place inviting to guests and we immediately appreciated the personal feel of this home as opposed to a hotel. The bedding was heavenly, the toiletries and pantry stocked. On top of that, the claw-foot tub downstairs made our pianist's "Top 10 Baths of All Time" list. There's a sun bathing (if you're lucky) deck out back with an apple tree. Just a short walk from some delicious bakeries, restaurants and shopping, this place is perfect for families or groups of friends looking for a chill place to feel at home in Portland. The hosts were kind when we bumped into each other from time to time.
This is the final rate, including any fees from the host and Airbnb.
