About this listing

I live in a quiet neighborhood in NE Portland. Downtown Portland is a short bus/car ride away and Alberta St. is only a 15 minute walk! There are a lot of great restaurants, music venues, bars and lounges in the vicinity. Foodies welcome :)

The space

*Please read the ENTIRE listing before booking*
*The house can only accommodate up to 10 people for insurance and permit compliance purposes. Please do not ask to bring any more than 10 people*
*NOT suitable for children under 12 (it says this in the house rules but people seem to be overlooking it)*

I have a 4 bedroom, 3 bath space available for guests. The main house is 3 levels with 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. There is also a studio out back that has its own bathroom and kitchen. My private space (where I live) is downstairs in the basement. If I am around I will come and go through the basement door and out the back door. The rest of the 4bed/3bath space is available for guests. On the main level there is one large bedroom with a queen sized, four-poster bed, and a medium sized bedroom with a set of bunk beds with pillow-top mattresses. These two rooms share a bathroom. Upstairs there is a Master bedroom with a queen sized bed, complete with a memory foam mattress, and a private bath with a shower and claw-foot tub. Out the back door and diagonal to the house, there is a studio that has a queen sized bed (also memory foam mattress), and a kitchen and bathroom area.

There are also large common areas including the living room, dining room, and kitchen, which are all for guest use.

Out back there is a yard with fruit trees, a deck and a patio where guests may sit and relax. There is also a washer and dryer available for guests to use for no extra charge. Please make arrangements with me if you wish to use the washer and dryer, as I usually keep the door locked. I provide linens, towels, and toiletries. Hair dryers an iron and an ironing board are also provided.

Guest access

Guests will have access to the entire house and studio, except for the basement area, which is my private space. Guests have full use of all common areas.

Interaction with guests

I can have as much interaction with a guest as they are comfortable with. I can be available to check in, and then leave you to do as you wish, or I am also more than willing to socialize, if time allows. Whatever your comfort level may be, I can accomodate.

Other things to note

Guests must mention if they are traveling with a RV or large vehicle + trailer, and must acquire pre-approval before booking.

I do have two cats, but they live downstairs in my private space and are not allowed in the common areas or guest bedrooms. (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN)-RS

Extremely hospitable and knowledgeable about the surrounding area. Quick 15 min uber ride from downtown. Pine state biscuits a couple blocks over is a great place to go for breakfast/brunch!

Zachary's place was perfect for my entire immediate family to show up for both my graduation and birthday celebrations! The place was large enough to accomodate 9 people (and honestly, probably more) and the house was accurate as the pictures. Communication with Zachary was always fast, easy, and he was very helpful. Location for this house was close to downtown and other niche areas of Portland that are unique of its own, it's quite amazing. Overall, my family and I enjoyed our stay and it's possible that we would be back :) Thank you for hosting us!

Zachary's home is very nice and comfortable, and situated in a quiet residential neighborhood that is walking distance to the Alberta Arts District and easily accessible to many other areas and activities. We had a great stay and highly recommend Zach's place!

This house was great for a multi-generational family stay. The outside house was perfect for my daughter's family with an infant, and the main house had just enough beds and bedrooms for the remaining parents, grandma, aunt and college-age children. It was perfect for us to be able to visit together.

Zachary is a great host. The house is comfortable and Zachary makes every effort to make you feel at home. Upon entry to his home he has a table filled with maps and brochures as well as a booklet of restaurant menus. He was very good about answering any questions that we might have. The location is nice and quiet and easily accessible to all parts of the city.

We stayed in Zach's home in lieu of a hotel because I wanted an intimate weekend with several people I had not seen in years. It was the perfect setting! A total of 6 adults stayed in the house. This allowed for privacy when needed, but also a relaxed atmosphere for socializing. I am a sucker for eclectic older homes, and I loved the picture rails, animal-themed knobs on the kitchen cabinets, and the stairway hidden in what appeared to be a closet (it led to the loft). Enchanting! Would definitely stay here again. Excellent location, and Zach was very helpful in making recommendations.

Our group enjoyed our stay Zachary's place. Accurately sleeps up to ten comfortably and nicely accessible to Alberta by short car ride during few snowy days we were there.

Zachary User ProfileZachary is a superhost.

I'm pretty easy going. I am well traveled and enjoy helping out fellow travelers. I have been to 20+ countries and enjoy sharing stories and experiences.

I enjoy watching movies and reading a good book. I am also a music fanatic. My favorite food is probably Thai food, but it's tough to decide.

My favorite place I've been out of the country so far is Finland. There's just a pleasant wildness about the place that I enjoyed. My favorite place within the country is, of course, Portland! The Northwest is a wonderful area to visit.

I believe in living life, so that when I pass on, I can look back on my life and have great memories and as little regret as possible. That's one of the reasons I've tried to travel so much.

I hope to provide people with a pleasant stay and an opportunity to get the most out of their visit to Portland.

Happy traveling!
