This lovely second story room is perfect for family or friends traveling together and needing separate beds. It overlooks giant ferns and faces lots of green and the only sounds you will hear are the birds outside.
Located only 2.5 miles from the entrance of the Hawaii Volcanos National Park, in the village of Volcano (not in Mountain View, and not in the community across the road from Volcano - this is the real thing). One mile each way from the Cooper Center and Volcano Art Center.
Escape to a secluded rainforest paradise, where the only noises are raindrops on the many skylights and birds in the morning. Located in the cozy little village of Volcano, you are only about a mile away from the entrance to the Hawaii Volcanos National Park, making this the your perfect home base to explore the park and spend evenings by the fire. We are only 45 minutes from Hilo and the Hamakua coast, and about an hour away from South Point and the wonders of its wild beaches (including the famous Green Sands Beach).
You will have a private room with 2 single beds in a fully equipped home with kitchen, wireless broadband, free laundry facilities, a warm fire stove, a beautiful and sunny covered lanai (outside porch), verdant gardens, board games and a shower room to die for. The only place in the house without a view to beautiful greenery is probably underneath your bed. After a visit to Madam Pele, you will come home to a cozy spot where the stars are so bright it looks like you could touch them. The pictures do not come close to doing this beautiful place justice
Come enjoy the cool mountain climate of Volcano, visit its arts center, drive down Chain of Craters Road, wander outside amongst the giant tree ferns or just retreat for a couple of quiet days to relax and recharge your batteries.
Thank you very much! Great location and very nice house!
This is a very nice house, very clean with lovely linens. Because the host does not live in the house, you do have to depend upon the consideration of other guests who are staying there. Some people who stayed there while we did got up at 6:30 to make a very loud and long telephone conversation, a rude and early awakening to our day. Otherwise, very close to the volcano park and the village eateries.
Nice place. Was there alone but could be fun in a communal setting. Cold and wet when I got there. Okay to use fireplace but paper and wood were damp and was a struggle to get fire going. Was told a gas stove is being put in which is a plus.
If you arrive at night, road in is an adventure.
Great location for the national park.
This is possibly the most amazing architecture I have ever encountered. It is a palace in the middle of a jungle. It even *smells* divine. We both LOVED this accommodation and regret it was only two nights. We also met two other lovely couples who were travelling around Volcano. This place is excellently located for exploring Volcano National Park. The shower is simply fantastic as well - like being in a spa!!
Room a little small for two adults but it was the last room in all of volcano! So glad we were able to get in here.Correspondences with the woman making the booking were lightning fast, cheery, and helpful... we were booking at the last minute but she was very quick to confirm our request for (email hidden) is gorgeous in a serene setting. The house is stunning and beautiful.Fresh fruit and homemade yogurt were a surprise and welcome treat.Eventhough we shared the house one night with another couple, our stay was still quiet and full of privacy and personal space.Didnt want to share a room in a house but the house was set up so that it was just fine.
Thanks, Tammy. There are not a lot of AirBnB places in Volcano that rent rooms, so I am glad you noted that there is enough privacy and liked the setting. We try to accommodate people who want the whole house and those who just need a room, like you, balancing out the private sleeping space with the larger, communal house. I hope you come back on your travels.
This place was lovely! Mel was an amazing hostess and I felt welcomed right from the start. The house is just minutes from Volcanoes National Park and had all of the amenities I was looking for including a kitchen, laundry and a nice comfortable main room and lanai! I'd absolutely go back and recommend this place for your Hawaii trip.
My boyfriend and I were delighted with this house. The place is beautiful and well organized - we constantly found ourselves amazed with how well the house was architected. It is also conveniently located close to Volcano National Park (just a 5 min car ride!). It was easy to get to the house. We didn't get to meet the hosts, but their maintenance person was really helpful during the check in. The beds were really comfortable. The place gets a little bit chilly at night (we were there in January) but the fireplace does a really good job warming up the house. The semi-outside double shower is really cool! and the kitchen is fully equipped for cooking. We really enjoyed the available fresh fruit and home-made yogurt. We would totally return to this place if we visit again Volcano!
My daughter and I had a really nice stay at the Hoaloa Rainforest House. I only booked the day of and Alex was super responsive so that I was able to confirm everything quickly. Melissa the caretaker was very welcoming on arrival at the property.
The house is a real gem situated at the end of a quiet street. The property is carved out of the Ohia tree and Hapu fern forest. It is trully a tranquil setting!
My son and I had a wonderful night's sleep to the rain on the roof and surrounding ferns at Alex's beautiful rain forest home. We shared a two bed bedroom with very comfy beds. Laurie, the temporary host was welcoming and hospitable - even made coffee for us in the morning even though she doesn't drink it herself! We'd definitely stay there again when visiting Volcano in future years.
My girl friend and I only got to spend one night in Alex's lovely Hawaiian rain forest hideaway. The home is right outside Volcano National Part, nestled in a beautiful, rural rain forest. Alex wasn't there but Lori, a temporary caregiver, had everything ready for us. I highly recommend staying there if you are looking for a homey alternative to hotels in Hilo.
