Peninsula Road cottage (crib) is the perfect relaxing holiday spot in summer and winter. From the moment you walk in, you will feel relaxed.
A character crib modernised and contemporised, it has all the comforts and yet still retains the simplicity of a traditional holiday house that you remember from your own childhood holidays. Basking in all day sun with expansive water views, this crib is the perfect base for your holiday.
In summer you can practically spend all day on the sunny deck- morning coffee and papers, al fresco lunch and then to enjoy the long Central Otago evenings with drinks and BBQ dinner until it gets dark well after 10pm in summer.
In winter you can enjoy the sunshine streaming in the windows and the log burner whilst you take in the views of the calm lake and snowy mountain tops. It’s so warm and cosy in winter that a relaxing dinner at home and local pinot noir after skiing will be very appealing.
The crib was one of the earliest on Kelvin Heights and has been built in several stages and now recently refurbished. The two queen bedrooms are connected internally or can be accessed independently through French doors off the large deck; There is plenty of off-street parking. The garden is in constant bloom for most of the year so you can enjoy fresh flowers during your stay.
Situated just at the beginning of the Kelvin Heights Peninsula, this home is perfectly positioned for water views, trails and very convenient to Queenstown central town. You can walk a few minutes down to the beach for a swim and sunbathe or ride/ walk the new network of trails to Queenstown and Arrowtown. Walk along the waterfront trail for less than 10 minutes to the Hilton Hotel for a range of restaurants, maybe a spa treatment or evening cocktails.
Take a water taxi across or drive 15 minutes to the buzz of Queenstown central or 20 minutes to the quaintness of historic Arrowtown. Convenient to the Airport and Remarkables Park shopping centre (3km). The cottage is minutes from both Queenstown and Jack Point golf course, close to Coronet Peak and even closer to Remarkables ski area. Queenstown area has an abundance of things to do and this crib provides a convenient and relaxing weekend or holiday base.

We had a fabulous stay at Fiona's cottage. She has a beautiful home and we felt most welcome there.
The views from the garden are mesmerising. I rate Fiona and her home very highly.
The kitchen was very well equipped, the bathroom perfect and the entire house was spotless. Fit for the Queen.
My wife and I spent part of our honeymoon in Queenstown, And had the pleasure of staying in Fiona's cottage overlooking the lake. The Cottage was set up nicely, with more than just the basics on hand, a modern, well equipped kitchen and comfy furnishing.
We loved relaxing on the deck soaking up the views and enjoying the beautiful flowers and fruit trees in the garden. Even when the weather was a bit chilly, we just sat in the loungeroom, the large windows allowing us a great indoor vantage point.
The cottage was in a great location, set apart from the hustle and bustle of Queenstown CBD, with the great little shopping centre at Remarkables Park only minutes away for all our supplies. Still only a quick drive to all the main attractions, but avoiding all the crowds for a more secluded stay.
Fiona was super helpful and answered all our questions and offered plenty of local advice on places to eat and things to see.
Amazing location, perfect views and Fiona was awesome and super responsive. Also, as a family, we were glad not to be in the middle of Queenstown madness. The proximity to the lake and the running/biking trails close to the lake was a huge plus. We will return!
Lovely house. Great location on Peninsula road across lake from main town Queenstown - 15/20 mins by car. Very good access for airport and out of town shopping centre / garages.
With good weather deck and garden with view delightful. Good communal space in kitchen diner lounge. Need to be family for extra bedroom as need to go through one to get to other / or toilet at night. Could go round outside but not ideal. V well appointed kitchen.
The cottage at Queenstown is nothing short of spectacular! It is well decorated, has gorgeous views, a lovely garden and one of the best supplied kitchens I have seen in an Airbnb place.
Fiona was very accommodating and checked to make sure everything was comfortable for us, as well as supplying good resources about the area!
Couldn't recommend it more!
Fiona had been a very reponsible host -she has been providing a lot of information before our arrival and make sure we settled down alright. Place felt like home , 10 mins drive from queenstown but I like the quietness yet convenient
The house lived up to exactly what was listed, it was a good size for us as a couple and may suit a small family. The view was absolutely perfect! The area was quiet and a cat is required to get to town, but easy tp get to the walking path along the lake. Overall great house to stay at.
