About This Listing
A magical Redwood Treehouse located it the beautiful Santa Cruz Mountains. There is a live tree growing right through the main living area and another in the bathroom! It is simply incredible. It was built by my friend, Randy, a stained glass artist. Everyone who sees it are delighted by it.
Please read entire description before making a reservation request.
It has a delicious high-bed, a kitchen with a small stove and refrigerator, and typical cooking tools. There is a full bathroom with shower and toilet of course.
There is now a hot-tub at about 103 degrees ready for your soak before bed or a morning treat.
The Treehouse is a short walk of a few hundred yards (about four minutes) through the beautiful woods from the parking area.
There is a gas stove for heating. There is a TV and DVD player with many movies to choose from.
Redwood Treehouse comes with its own cat, Grey, who lives outside. She is employed as a mouser and does a fine job. She is friendly and loves attention.
For travelers this is the best of both worlds. A wonderful treehouse nestled in the redwood forest, a short distance to HWY 1(Pacific Coast HWY) the main vein to Monterey, Carmel-by-the-Sea, Big Sur, Capitola and Santa Cruz and the HWY 101 Corridor.
People come from all over the world to experience the Pacific Coast specifically the Monterey Bay area. It is an area rich in history. Here you will find world class art, music, cuisine, golf, surfing, sightseeing, hiking, biking, sunbathing, whale watching, birding, fishing, Monterey Bay Aquarium, Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk and so much more. You can spend the day engaged in a variety of activities, physical and/or cultural. However you spend your day you can return home to a mountain treehouse and quiet.
The weather here is excellent. It is located in a micro climate called a ‘banana belt’. Though the beach is only 25 minutes away we are often in the sun when our neighbors in the valley and on the coast are in the fog. Winters are mild we average 25” of rainfall a year. Summers can be warm but delightful. The fog rolling in at night is nature’s air conditioner and everything cools down. The weather is nearly perfect. Fog burns off early enough to make the beaches comfortable all day.
The Santa Cruz Mountains are home to Sequoia Sempervirens commonly known as a Redwood Tree. They are native only to a specific part of Pacific Coast region.

MJ and I slightly got off on the wrong foot, because I sent three emails requesting directions, all of which were ignored. (?!) Luckily with GPS and the help of a young lad who pointed us to the path of the treehouse, we found it.
It isn't exactly a treehouse but it has a few trees growing through it. Cool! Looks just like in the photos. It is indoor/outdoor space though, so look out for ticks! My husband found one on his arm in the bathroom.
A bit frumpy decoration wise; could use an updo and some new colors. My main issue is with the bed. It was so lumpy that we both woke up with terrible backaches on day two -- mine so bad that I could barely walk. That was disappointing. Besides that, it was overall relaxing -- quiet, lovely to wake to the birds chirping. Hot shower and hot tub are wonderful, and the book selection was a delight.
Thanks for you review Camille. My apologies for not getting details and directions to you. Sometimes I miss a guest. I have checked my records and have found no messages from you requesting the info....might you have the wrong email address?Sorry the bed was not a good fit for you. It is a fairly new memory foam mattress not even two years old. Most guests comment on the comfort. Last but not least, it is a Treehouse! The entire things is anchored on living trees!
This place is really something special. Private and quiet, with a little hike through the woods, and cozy and comfortable inside. Mary Jane was very friendly and gave us an amazing suggestion for dinner and eggs from her chickens. The perfect getaway.
This treehouse is magical. Mary Jane owns a wonderful piece of nature on her property, and is a gracious host. One of the things we loved the most was the short 1/4 mile trek along a well groomed path through the forest to get to the treehouse. We loved it so much. The treehouse itself is cozy and warm and very well appointed. We can't wait to visit again.
Mary Jane was very attentive to all our needs and requests.
The cabin is cozy and for real nature-lovers. Not for the spoiled :)
The treehouse is amazing! I had been wanting to stay here for a long time and it did not disappoint one bit. The treehouse was cozy and very clean and the hot tub under the redwoods was magical. I can't wait to return.
