A magical Redwood Treehouse located it the beautiful Santa Cruz Mountains. There is a live tree growing right through the main living area and another in the bathroom! It is simply incredible. It was built by my friend, Randy, a stained glass artist. Everyone who sees it are delighted by it.
Please read entire description before making a reservation request.
It has a delicious high-bed, a kitchen with a small stove and refrigerator, and typical cooking tools. There is a full bathroom with shower and toilet of course.
There is now a hot-tub at about 103 degrees ready for your soak before bed or a morning treat.
The Treehouse is a short walk of a few hundred yards (about four minutes) through the beautiful woods from the parking area.
There is a gas stove for heating. There is a TV and DVD player with many movies to choose from.
Redwood Treehouse comes with its own cat, Grey, who lives outside. She is employed as a mouser and does a fine job. She is friendly and loves attention.
For travelers this is the best of both worlds. A wonderful treehouse nestled in the redwood forest, a short distance to HWY 1(Pacific Coast HWY) the main vein to Monterey, Carmel-by-the-Sea, Big Sur, Capitola and Santa Cruz and the HWY 101 Corridor.
People come from all over the world to experience the Pacific Coast specifically the Monterey Bay area. It is an area rich in history. Here you will find world class art, music, cuisine, golf, surfing, sightseeing, hiking, biking, sunbathing, whale watching, birding, fishing, Monterey Bay Aquarium, Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk and so much more. You can spend the day engaged in a variety of activities, physical and/or cultural. However you spend your day you can return home to a mountain treehouse and quiet.
The weather here is excellent. It is located in a micro climate called a ‘banana belt’. Though the beach is only 25 minutes away we are often in the sun when our neighbors in the valley and on the coast are in the fog. Winters are mild we average 25” of rainfall a year. Summers can be warm but delightful. The fog rolling in at night is nature’s air conditioner and everything cools down. The weather is nearly perfect. Fog burns off early enough to make the beaches comfortable all day.
The Santa Cruz Mountains are home to Sequoia Sempervirens commonly known as a Redwood Tree. They are native only to a specific part of Pacific Coast region.
Come and visit our amazing part of the world and experience something special about the California Coast.

What a wonderful stay! Highly recommended! I have told all my friends about this cool treehouse! My kids loved it!
Lovingly made and maintained tree house. Queen size bed was super comfy as were the down pillows. As far as cabins go, this was pretty high class with new furnishings appliances and mattress. Walking down the narrow yet very well maintained trail was half the fun!
We really enjoyed our time at the treehouse! As so many people have mentioned, the hosts were super lovely and the space inside was perfection. I loved waking up early and seeing the sun rise through the trees while snuggled up in bed.
There were a couple things we weren't expecting, which included a number of buildings in the near vicinity, including neighbors who have built a house that somewhat unfortunately diminishes the privacy a little bit. Also, Mary Jane left a note letting us know that neighbors do target practice in the woods so not to be surprised when we heard gun shots... we were so pleased we'd read that letter because there were some.
We feel so lucky to have spent a night in the treehouse!! It was perfect.
The experience was indeed quite magical. We took our doggies with us and they loved it, too! We stayed for two nights and it was perfect. My only tip to share is this: if your intention is to stay in the treehouse the entire time, stop by the grocery store before heading to the property. Because we are locals in the Bay Area, it was easy for us to choose recipes and bring just the ingredients we needed to cook our meals. (An alternative is to find pre-made meals that are easy to cook/reheat. Think simple!) We did end up using the charcoal grill and that was nice. It took me a few tries to get the fire going but the food turned out well. We also baked cookies. The treehouse itself was super cool. Loved the fireplace and the hot tub. There was a good selection of DVDs and lots of books. The bathroom was very clean. In fact, the whole property was very clean! Overall, the stay was a perfect weekend getaway and I can't wait to go back. It was a really special experience and I loved every moment. Truly a one-of-a-kind adventure. (One more thing, book this place in advance! No surprise most of 2015 is booked.) Thanks for an incredible weekend.
We had a FANTASTIC stay at the Redwood Treehouse!!! It was everything we were hoping for our honeymoon-- relaxing, secluded, peaceful, comfortable. We loved soaking in the hot tub, relaxing on the porch, toasting our toes by the fireplace, and cooking leisurely breakfasts in the morning. Plus it was a great jumping-off spot for day trips to Monterey and Santa Cruz. Had a wonderful time and hope to come back again someday.
We loved how secluded it was. It was smaller than I had imagined, but perfect for just the two of us. I love the quaintness of the tree house. Thank you!
As many others have said, the Redwood Treehouse experience is really something special and one-of-a-kind. Not only is it a unique space, but the story of its creation is also quite endearing. It's a long and seemingly circuitous journey to the treehouse from the Highway, at least the first time you do it. But Google Navigation got us there and back easily, and the additional directions from Mary Jane were clear and helpful. We were greeted by Martin, I believe, who was friendly, humorous, and welcoming. The property is lovely, idyllic, and has some great views, while the people are welcoming but unobtrusive. The trail to the treehouse is fairly long, about 1/5 mile, but it's well maintained and goes quickly after the first time once you know what to expect. The "reveal" of the house itself is fantastic, with cute Christmas lights guiding your way up the ramp to your aerial temporary home. And a home it is, with everything you need for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. The standard things are there, small (but complete) kitchen with utensils, plates, cups, etc., bathroom (with nice toiletries, EO soap) and towels, a fairly comfortable bed, a dining table and 2 chairs, plus reclining loveseat, and a TV. But there are little touches too that really made it stand out and feel extra welcoming, including a stocking of pantry staples (flour, beans, spices), along with a shelf full of a variety of books, and several (current and archived) guest books to peruse, plus a great photo album/storybook of the building of the treehouse itself. It's all a bit rustic, of course. You're staying in a house that has actual, living, growing trees coming right through it from floor to ceiling. The trees have bark, which you might just rub up against in the small bathroom. But it's actually surprisingly clean despite that. Furniture is comfortable and well used. Outside is a small porch with a pair of chairs for relaxing and enjoying the view and the air. There's a BBQ. And, of course, the hot tub! It's kept warm and is cleaned after each guest. Sitting in the hot tub - day or night - and leaning back and seeing the trees rise up above you is a singular experience. We were there in clear weather but I can imagine it might actually be even nicer in the rain, and several entries in the guest book described the lovely sound of rain on the treehouse roof. This is a unique, special, romantic place, a real get-away. After just one night - the only time we were able to book this go-around - we felt surprisingly relaxed and happy, just like a vacation is meant to be, even though it was so short. If you love rustic charm and solitude, this place will be a dream. You're left alone, just you and the redwoods, and it's heaven. Thank you Mary, Martin, and Randy Beaver the builder of the treehouse! Can't wait to...
