Our spacious, recently renovated home has two double bedrooms available both with own bathrooms and wifi access. Parking is available along with access to large kitchen, laundry facilities, extensive collection of books, board games and DVDs. 5 minutes walk to NUIG/UHG 10 minutes walk to city centre.
The house was built in the 1950's originally and then extensively renovated and extended in 2011. Old meets new in a spacious yet cosy family home. Parking is available but you won't need your car as all the main Galway attractions are within easy walking distance of the house.
There will be fridge, freezer and cupboard space made available in the kitchen for guests. You are welcome to cook in the kitchen as long as you clean afterwards! Lots of Books, DVDs and board games available for you to use during your stay. You can enjoy the garden space too if the sun shines on your visit.
During the week I will be at work during the day but home most evenings to advise guests on activities to do in and around Galway.
The neighbourhood is a great mix of older residents, families and some students during the academic year. Everyone gets along well in this safe, friendly neighbourhood. You can walk to all the main attractions that Galway has to offer. There is also a great selection of places to eat near the house along with a small supermarket, butchers and late night pharmacy. There is a gym in the university grounds with pool, sauna, steam room and squash courts - you can pay to use facilities at designated hours.
There are bus stops very nearby for the local city bus networks. The bus and train stations in eyre square are a 20 minute walk away or 5 minutes by taxi. There is a taxi rank around the corner from the house. There is bike rental close to the house too.
There is so much to do in Galway that you will find it hard to fit it all in! There are loads of festivals - the arts festival, the oyster festival, the races, comedy festival, film fleadh, visual arts, sailing and more. Entertainment options include the theatre, cinema, live music, dance classes, sporting activities, comedy nights, free talks and lectures and of course the great pubs and clubs the city has to offer. You can walk or rent a bike to explore the cities trails and head out to salthill to kick the wall.
Had a great experience staying at Joanna's house. Joanna is a great host, the rooms are spacious, and the beds are comfortable. The house is located close to the city centre, so it has great access to the sights and sounds of Galway!
Joanna is a very nice and kind woman and the house is beautiful, like an hotel but with a friendly and sweet welcome. Good breakfast! Chiara e Gianluca
