The Space

Very quiet location, backs up to woods, on a one lane private road that projects into open ocean. The suite is in an owner occupied home, has its own entrance. Near to local restaurants and sights. Lovely in all seasons. Suite does not look out onto the water, but the ocean is only about 200 feet from your door.

Guest Access

The suite has a large screen tv, wireless Internet access, full bath, small fridge, toaster oven and coffee maker, breakfast foods provided. No smoking allowed indoors. Big yard with lawn furniture in season.

Interaction with Guests

Will greet, offer dining tips or sightseeing venues. My TV room is next to the suite but will not have it on past 9 pm if there are guests, never turn it on in the day except for cataclysmic events.

The Neighborhood

Private single family homes, many only occupied in summer and early fall. Stunning area of Maine with spectacular views. Lovely walking and biking.

Getting around

Vehicle is needed to get here. Nearest town for shopping, dining, gas, etc is 12 miles away. Several restaurants nearer until Columbus Day, but most close for winter.

Other Things to Note

There are many places worth visiting within an hour drive in any direction.

Overall Guest Satisfaction

Check In
  • We very much enjoyed our stay at Ellen's. There is a separate entrance to the bedroom suite at the back of the house, so we were able to come back late in the evening without worrying about disturbing anyone. The bed was very comfortable, and it was handy to have the fridge to use. Ellen graciously provided beer and soft drinks in the fridge as well as the breakfast items we requested. The wifi worked great, and we were easily able to use the tv and see Wimbeldon!

Her home is a very short walk from the beach. Very quiet and serene. Ellen was a gracious host!

  • It was wonderful to stay with Ellen this fall. Her home is secluded yet there are so many things to do within just a short drive. Beach access is very close (just across the street). The sunsets are beautiful and the stars are amazing at night.

The suite has a comfy queen bed, bath, microwave, small frig and other essentials. We found the arrangements to be quite comfortable and the private access is very convenient.

Ellen is very hospitable and knowledgeable about the area. It was very nice to talk, I wish I could come back for a whole week!

  • We had a lovely stay with Ellen! Her house was located in such a beautiful place, and she was so welcoming and generous. Her dog is adorable, too. The drinks and snacks in our room where a nice touch and everything was very clean and homey. We would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a quiet and rejuvenating experience.

  • Ellen was very kind when we called to let her know we were going to be much later than predicted. The room was tidy and comfortable, with a large bathroom en suite that also had a small refrigerator, coffee maker and microwave. the fridge was stocked with nice things to drink, there was good coffee to make and fluffy towels.

The best parts, though, were the area (the series of small ismuths that is Harpswell) and Ellen's wonderful suggestions. We had an amazing lobster lunch on the pier at a community run lobster shack that was well above the ordinary in nearby Cundy's Point and enjoyed eating on the pier and watching the boats and chatting with the folks who run the place.

    Thank you Ellen!

  • We had a great visit. Ellen greeted us with a glass of wine and we shared interests in arts and travels. The room had a private entrance from the outside and a private bathroom, refrigerator and TV, toaster oven, and supply of orange juice, English muffins, raspberry preserves. We got good suggestions of places to eat and things to do. Location is beautiful on private road and wonderful view of the bay. If fancy is what you want, this might not be it. But if you are like most of us, you will have a comfortable, enjoyable visit to waterside Maine.
