Matteo and Maya are just wonderful. This is my second stay with them in the last few months, and I plan to always try to reserve their place first when I come to Rome. Everything in the apartment is set up perfectly, and yet they make constant improvements, as evidenced by the fact that they are putting in a new stovetop this weekend! M&M take hosting very seriously, and it shows. Also, as I said before, the place is spotless and very tastefully decorated and yet comfortable, too, with a lot of places to curl up and read. The internet is fast. The price is excellent and the location could not be better. In short, everything is perfect.
I've been travelling 5 airbnb flats around Europe, I would say Matteo's flat was the best.
1. Fantastic location
2. Everything you need is at home (welcoming foods are plus)
3. Matteo is very kind
Definately hope to visit Matteo's flat again!
Our host Matteo personally meet us at the apartment... He was extremely gracious, and thorough as he described all the workings of the apartment. The apartment is ideally situated!! We would recommend this apartment highly, and if we return to Rome again we will definitely rebook this exact place! The apartment was spacious by European standards, very nicely appointed with coordinating furnishings and themed accessories, giving it a slight mid eastern touch. It felt very comfortable and the heat was perfect for an unusually cold week in Rome. So close to the colosseum and the small walking streets, and we easily walked to and back to the train station with our big rolling luggage.
We spent perfect days in Rome. Maya and Matteo helped us to it. The apartment has a great location, with everything meticulously organized. It's near the most importats monuments of Rome, supermarkerts, restaurants, gelaterias, panaterias, etc They are to be congratulated with the reception, which was accompanied by several explanations as details on operation, fruits, regional food and chocolate. We recomend and we will return soon. Luiz
Maya and Matteo are the perfect hosts and go above and beyond to make sure that their guests are comfortable. They exemplify what a superhost should be.
They met me exactly when they said they would, showed me everything in the apartment, and shared the informative guide to working various appliances. The apartment is spotless--no dust, no mold, no grime--the cleanest AIRBNB I've stayed in yet. The bed is very comfortable. The water was hot and it's on demand so there was plenty of it. Everything worked, and when I discovered a small problem with the oven, Matteo and Maya went out and bought another one! They did so even though I said it was no problem, I could just use the stove instead. I thought this was above and beyond. They also brought me gluten-free snacks and fruit, which was very kind.
The place is also perfectly located. It's walking distance to many sites, but also very close to three metro stops, so you can really get to anywhere in Rome in about 20 minutes to half an hour. It's also at the meeting of three streets that will take you to many excellent restaurants, and Monti is great for foodies. Right around the corner there is a great new raw organic chocolate shop with vegan gelato (Grezzo).
In Rome, no place is completely quiet because of traffic, but this was the quietest place I've stayed in Rome. I was never woken by neighbors or street noise. The living room window opens onto the small courtyard type space, and so that room is always very quiet (for reading or study, as this apartment is close to an Italian school, Ciao Italia--it was the perfect place to stay for my week of immersion.) Rome in general feels pretty safe at night to me, but in case you're worried, the apartment is very secure, and is on what we think of as the second floor in the States.
Also, the price is right. You couldn't do better for this location. If you're sitting there wondering if this is going to be the best place to stay, wonder no more. It's perfect.
Our stay at Matteo and Mayas apartment was fantastic! It was extremely clean, comfortable, quiet, and a great location, walking distance to most sites. They were very organized, gave us a pamphlet of how to use the apartment, including the laundry machine, and took the time to show us around. They left us tea, coffee, milk and some other goodies, and were very responsive when we had questions. We would definitely recommend this apartment and would stay here again!
