This was a great place to stay, very centrally located and Matteo was a fantastic host and catered to all out needs. We didn't have to ask for anything, he had everything waiting for us including a welcome pack of bread, milk, tea and coffee to start us off for the day. His home was just lovely and if I'm back in Rome this is the place I would recommend to anyone to stay. I would like to thank Matteo for installing a new air conditioner as we hit Rome at the hottest time of year and the one in the apartment had just broken, but he came and installed another the same day. A very welcoming host and I have no hesitation in recommending this apartment or host. Thank You so much Matteo your generosity was amazing and also for organising our taxi on the last day. Linda and Georgette.
The apartment was perfectly situated very near all the great attractions of Rome all within walking distance. Matteo was most helpful with any questions we had about the area. The apartment itself is comfortable and well equipped. I would highly recommend it for a great base in Rome.
We met Matteo upon arrival and stored our luggage at the apartment since we arrived early into Rome. He was kind enough to store our luggage and asked us to return later for checkin. When we returned, he showed us the apartment and instructed us on the use of the appliances. He also provided a notebook with clear step-by-step instructions of the appliances and nearby recommendations of restaurants and markets. The apartment was clean and cozy. Matteo generously provided a starter kit for our stay which consisted of milk, soda, butter, bread and various fruits. The kitchen was well stocked with all that is needed to cook a meal. The location was perfect to explore the many sights of Rome on foot. A bus stop was also located right across the street. This was by far our favorite place we stayed during our trip to Europe. Thanks Matteo!
Could not have asked for a more welcoming and informative host. Matteo gave very clear instructions on how to get to the apartment, and when we asked about local restaurants we received a 3 page PDF on all the local restaurants and descriptions of Roman cuisine which he typed up especially. The apartment was surprisingly spacious for inner city accommodation and very tasteful. It was a very short walk to the Trevi Fountain and Colosseum. Matteo also provided food for our breakfast which was a nice touch.
Matteo was outside the apartment waiting for us even though we were late. He helped us with our luggage and showed us around the apartment and explained how everything worked. He very kindly took my husband to the pharmacy as my husband had hurt his arm and was in pain and obtained the names of orthopaedic specialists who could see him.
In the apartment were fruit, milk, bread and juice as well as condiments oil etc for our use.
The apartment is very well decorated and is close to many attractions to which we were able to walk. There were several dining options as well as supermarkets near by.
Matteo was very kind to us and even booked a taxi for us to go to the airport early in the morning to catch our flight to Geneva.
We were very comfortable in the apartment and if we ever return to Rome would love to stay here again.
Mateo was at the home to greet us with a very detailed booklet of instructions and verbal direction on the apartment and the area. We are from the states so greatly appreciated the instruction especially on the appliances as they are different than we are used to. He also left us a few groceries to get us started-milk, bread, coffee, milk, and beautiful fresh fruit. I felt like a friend staying in his home. We had trouble with the A/C and Matteo even brought over an extra fan and had to assemble it. They also have an assortment of movies available to watch. It was fun to watch Gladiator the night before doing the Colosseum tour. Great, comfortable apartment, great location, great owners. Highly recommend!
We had a great three-night stay in Rome. We like that this apartment was in a good, central location. It was a ten to fifteen minute walk from a lot of locations: Roma Termini train station, the Colosseum and Roman Forum, Trevi Fountain, and the Pantheon. And maybe 20 minutes from the Spanish Steps. We walked to all of those spots, and only used the subway to get to The Vatican, although, we walked back. We liked the semi-quiet neighborhood feel. We found plenty of great restaurants literally on our (website hidden) Tre Scalini (a wine and beer bar with awesome food) was one block down the street. And Mariolina (a casual sit-in or take-out restaurant with great raviolis) was only half a block down the street. Matteo was very great at communicating via email before and during our stay. And he met us at the apartment when we arrived to show us how to work the laundry washing machine, dishwasher, etc.
