This apartment is a true gem in the French Concession, located on a tree-lined street that is quiet and peaceful, but within walking distance to the most popular restaurants and bars. The interior is beautifully designed, with floor to ceiling windows letting in constant streams of light. Perfect for one or two people, the apartment has everything you need, including hi-speed internet, 2 televisions, dvd player, washing machine, kitchen appliances, utensils and toiletries. Enjoy the comfort of sleeping on an extra-large King sized Westin Hotel "Heavenly Mattress", and feel like you're right at home.
Guests will have access to the entire apartment, including televisions, internet, washing machine, oven, kitchen equipment, towels and toiletries.
You will have the entire apartment to yourself, but I will be available any time for inquiries, questions about things to do and eat in Shanghai, or whatever else you might need during your stay.
Xingguo Road is one of the most charming streets in the French Concession. It is where people want to live after having explored all of Shanghai. Treelined and quiet, it is an eight minute walk to Shanghai Library subway station and seven minute walk to Jiaotong University station. Around the corner is Ferguson Lane, a lovely cluster of bakeries, bistros and bars and it is a short walk from organic markets, yoga studios and cute boutiques. This is definitely where you want to stay to get a true French Concession experience.
About 7-8 minutes away from Shanghai Library Station and Jiaotong University Station, but an easy walk or bike ride to most places of note in the French Concession. Taxis are easy to hail here and are very cheap to get anywhere in Shanghai.
I want to make your experience in Shanghai as smooth and enjoyable as possible, so will be providing a city guide with things to do, see, and most importantly, eat in the city. Please don't hesitate to get in touch if you require anything.
I look forward to welcoming you to my cozy apartment!

Jenny was the perfect host (prompt, available, helpful).
The apartment was cozy and convenient - an easy walk to a good range of excellent food options. Cabs were so easy (as long as you can say or show your destination in Chinese) and affordable, that I didn't get around to experiencing the convenience of the subway.
Thanks! Enjoyed my stay &
Hope to make it back again:)
The apartment is very pleasant, bright, practical and very well placed with the subway and convenience stores not too far. you'll find books and interesting magazines. Jenny and his friend was very welcomed and give us full of nice addresses.
Jenny was great to meet and talk about Shanghai.
Really nice place to stay so handy to everything.
Look forward to staying again .
This is my first booking with AirBNB and it was great way to start. From the outset of my enquiry to booking her apartment, Jenny was very prompt, courteous and friendly. Once we travelled to Shanghai and met Jenny, she made us feel at home and has an extensive knowledge of the local food scene! Jenny's home is cosy and inviting and makes you feel very comfortable. Its in the heart of everything you need and you wish you could stay longer. Alas! All good things must end.
Jenny is an excellent host and made sure every aspect of our stay was comfortable. The location couldn't be better, close to transportation and all that the Former French Concession (perhaps the most charming area of Shanghai) has to offer. Her place offers a lot of history and atmosphere together with modern conveniences (washer/dryer, microwave, etc.). Space and light in her apt. is fantastic.
Sorry I've been busy and couldn't leave you a comment any earlier. Jenny's place was lovely. The location was very convenient. I only stayed one night but the experience was amazing. If I don't live in SH already, your place would be a great choice for a 2-3 weeks stay.
I booked this room for my girlfriend for her business trip, she was very happy about the place and Jenny as the host. The location is needless to say, the most prime & central location you can get in Shanghai, close to many of the tourist attractions, western foods / Asian fusion restaurants, city library... there's a convenient store in very close walking distance. WiFi was fast, place was clean and stylish, this Airbnb experience was great, will stay with Jenny again if we visit Shanghai.
Very nice neighborhood, quiet. Jenny waited for us in the appartment despite our very late arrival.
Very easy to catch a taxi , in one minute. The metro is13mn from the appartment, since the appartment is between 2 stations. Line 10 is very convenient for tourist attractions.
We felt at home, good mattress.
If you need TV, there a are 2 TV, but no channels available, but for us, it was not important, since we do not understand chinese anyway.
It was very easy to find this little apartment. It's located on a quiet street lined with wutong trees. The closest subway is just 5-10 minutes walk away (Jiao Tong University station or Shanghai Library station). I would purposefully go for a walk at night just because I want to absorb the atmosphere of the area at time. There are convenience stores and super markets within 3-5 minutes walking distance. And there are also plenty of good Chinese restaurants close-by. The home is clean and tastefully decorated, plus she has tonnes of travel/food related books to read! I wish I can stay here longer!
Great host and great place!
Jenny is a Shanghai scene expert and will make you benefit from her experience by providing loads of info (best and latest restaurants, clubs, areas, happenings, etc - she's a bit your local directory :) - and remaining available for any enquiry you may have. As great for the Shanghai newby than for the Shanghai familiar, as very few cities change as fast as this one.
The flat is very well located too. It is a traditional shanghai lane flat refurbished in a contemporary and trendy way. It is a great experience and a very local one: small 3 storey buildings that provide insight in the Chinese way if living; your neighbors are Chinese and live the Chinese way. For sure a different experience than your usual 4-5* hotels as you are in middle of "the real life".
Enjoy and great Jenny for me when you see her :)
