The flat is directly across the road from Central Station (trains) so can easily be reached from the airport. From there you can pretty much get anywhere in Sydney, including the stunning beaches!
It's also a short walk - or a very pleasant ride on a bicycle - from the CBD (financial district) and Chinatown, Paddington, Darlinghurst, Potts Point...
Other Things to Note
Did you know?
Designed by 'Burley Katon Halliday', this luxurious apartment offers one of the very best locations in the city.
The house rules are pretty simple! It is purely common sense.
It is not allowed to smoke inside: the balcony is such a lovely place where you can spend time for food, some drinks and cigarettes if you like.
Please make sure you always close the windows when you are not in the apartment.
Also, please keep the big insect screen close at all times, even when you are at home: this will avoid any small insects or mosquitoes to get into the flat.
Rubbish collection: there is a door next to the lift (same floor as the flat) where you can throw any rubbish away: just make sure you avoid to trash anything late at night or early in the day.
Now.... just relax and enjoy our lovely flat in the heart of beautiful and vibrant Surry Hills!
Paola and Arie were great to deal with. Always responding to our queries in next to no time. The apartment was perfectly positioned in the heart of Surry hills, surrounded by all the foodie and coffee places that we wanted to check out.
The apartment was faultlessly clean, pleasantly decorated and we enjoyed sitting on the balcony amongst the trees.
Noise-wise, we stayed on a Friday and Saturday night, so there were plenty of people around on the street below when we were trying to sleep. But I guess that's to be expected in such a popular area so close to all the fun stuff.
We had a rental car during our visit and found that we had to move the car quite regularly as most of the parking was timed between 1-4 hours. We managed to find loading zones to park in just around the corner which meant we could park overnight without getting up too early to move the car.
This was our first airbnb experience and Paola and Arie made us feel very welcome.
I was warmly welcomed by Paola herself. She took time off her work to welcome us into her apartment, gave us a guided tour of the house and recommendations to nearby eateries.
The apartment was located minutes away from the city. Just on the outskirts where it is not too bustling with activity yet close enough to have famous cafes and restaurants just 2 floors below.
I am pleasantly surprised with the quality of the apartment, being a first time user of Airbnb. I would definitely recommend Paola's apartment for those visiting Sydney!
Paola and Arie we lovely responded very quickly and sent through a great list of recommendations of places to war and drink which was very helpful. Their flat was lovely exactly as described we had a lovely weekend here. The location was very convenient for the airport and also the city, we wandered the neighbourhood and up to Sydney Opera House in around 45mins really lovely. Thank you!
Great place and great location. The apartment is very nice throughout and has everything you need for an enjoyable stay. Very easy to deal with and quick to respond.
Great location and everything you need in the apartment. Very clean and enjoyed my stay.
Paola and Arie are wonderful hosts. Paola was very helpful and flexible with my arrival schedule. The apartment is conveniently located within walking distance of Central Station. The place has an innovative, open, modern design with a wonderful balcony. As hosts Paola and Arie are very warm and friendly. I was at ease the entire time. I would definitely recommend staying at Paola and Arie's place.
Paola and Arie were fantastic hosts. We cannot fault them. Fast to respond and very accommodating (allowing a very late check-in as our flight landed quite late and a generously late check-out). They had plenty of good recommendations but we had so little time to try them all. The location is fantastic, very close to central station and very close to lots of cool restaurants, cafes and bars. We found our first night to be quite hot but to be fair it was quite a warm day and there was a beautiful breeze on the subsequent days. The area can get a little noisy at night but if you are a solid sleeper like me, it will cause you no trouble! We felt very safe and secure the entire time.

About the Host, Paola And Arie
We're Paola and Arie, a couple of young professionals living in a contemporary apartment in one of Sydney's coolest neighbourhoods: Surry Hills (yet close to the Central Station & Central Business District).
We work & live in the area, so can tell you all about the cool places to hang out (please have your notebook ready, there are many). Living in one of Sydney's trendiest areas doesn't mean you'll have to compromise on transport with the Central Station only a few blocks away and Sydney's Central Business District around the corner (if it's business & pleasure :)
Surry Hills is very walkable but with the many cycleways streaking through Surry Hills' roads thanks to local investment you're forgiven if you prefer moving around on 2 wheels (hipsters would approve). The Dutch side of the couple - not exactly a hipster even he tried - thinks cycling in Surry Hills is great, while the Italian side of the couple prefers to spend her time at Gelato Messina (voted best gelato in Australia by Good Food Guide - check it out yourself or do a search on your preferred search engine).
Apart from that we love going away for a weekend or a long holiday around the world. We believe travelling is all about diving into local culture and exploring things off-the-beaten-track. While we live close to many interesting and popular areas of Sydney there are many quirky local food markets (and a farmers market) and superb local restaurants just around the corner.
Come and explore our very own Surry Hills and stay in our contemporary apartment to enjoy the very best of Sydney.
The food at this intimate Italian winery is absolutely gorgeous. They don't take reservations and the concept is pretty unique: a big table that you will share with other customers.Great wine.
Elegant and expensive yet great quality Spanish Tapas restaurant. Vibrant and fun atmosphere and always packed. You will need a reservation. Next door from our flat.
Great brunch and smoothies in this cafe'/restaurant literally behind our flat.
Highly recommended for some quality fresh food any time of the day!
One of the best coffees in the area, around the corner from our place. Try and get a sit in the hidden garden. Friendly service and organic ingredients on their menus.
Possibly our favourite Japanese restaurant in Surry Hills. Small and nicely decorated, modern yet authentic. Amazing food! Not cheap, but totally worth the money. Do not miss it!
A newly renewed park at 5 mins from the flat. Huge outdoor swimming pool, basketball and tennis courts and outdoor gym. We love going for a run there in the morning!
Central Station is at only 5 minutes walking from our place. You will be at the airport, Bondi Junction or Circular Quay in no time!
Great freshly made pasta in this Italian owned and very authentic Italian restaurant (and this is coming from me, Paola, a proper Italian, so you can trust us!!!).
The best ramen in the area at an amazing price! Very good quality of authentic Asian food, generous portions and super friendly service. BYO. We go back there very often and never disappointed.
Great location, good food with nice outdoor seating in an informal style. Inside a good range of beers, wines and food. Also has a pretty good view across the city.
The closest and biggest Coles supermarket is only a few blocks away, just at the end of Crown Street.
The shopping center also features other shops: post office, fish store, wine store, butcher..
The best place to rent the popular and trendy vintage Tokyo bicycles.
Also great for brunch and cocktails at the classy bar.
It also features the Golden Age cinema with cool alternative movies.
Great selection of Italian (and more...) wines together with a great service and sublime Italian dishes, prepared in front of you from one of the most popular Australian-Italian chefs.
