Hello & Welcome!
Explore all that greater Los Angeles has to offer while based at my Santa Monica apartment. You'll sleep well and have a comfortable stay, be close to the beach, nightlife and all that LA has to offer.
My boyfriend Ibrahim and I welcome you. Come and go as you please with your own set of keys... make yourself at home, just as you would your own.
Ibrahim habla español. Envíenos un email con sus preguntas y él responderá.
Guest Bedroom and Bathroom:
Queen size bed, plenty of closet, dresser and night stand space. Light-block shades & wood shutters.
Guest bathroom is immediately adjacent to bedroom and all yours. (Ibrahim and I use a different bathroom). Towels and bed linens provided and soap, shampoo, etc., available upon request.
Available for full use. Cereal, oatmeal, milk, juice, bread, eggs, and fruit typically available. Let me know what you prefer and I'll make sure to have them available.
Cook as much as you like. Stock the fridge with any preferred foods you'll want to use during your stay. (No metal utensils in pots/pans, cutlery must be hand washed, clean up when finished.)
Living Room / Dining Area:
Two comfy couches, basic cable TV, and wifi. This space is great for hanging out to plan adventures, get work done, or for curling up and relaxing.
For more information on what to do while visiting Santa Monica visit Wikipedia and search for "Santa Monica attractions and cultural resources". I'm also available to provide recommendations. Don't miss out on Venice Beach and the Venice Canals... neat places to visit.
Up to two youngsters may join two adults. Their sleeping arrangements can be made up on the floor next to the bed with couch cushions, pillows, sheets, and blanket... it is a workable setup.
Coin laundry available in building and nearby laundromat on Montana Ave. Laundry detergent and fabric softener are available. An iron and ironing board are also available. Personally, I frequently use Naki Laundry which offers same day laundry pick up and delivery service. Yup, they pick up and deliver laundry at my apartment door.
Los dos Gatos:
Sunny and Flash are extremely people friendly kitties and will want to greet and hangout with you. They are generally not allowed in the bedroom unless you say so. They don't have access to the bedroom when it's not being used.
Once booked, check out the "house manual" for wifi information and important notes.
Mi casa es su casa... Enjoy it like you would your own. Guests have access to the Kitchen, Guest Bedroom, Guest Bathroom, Dining Area, and TV/Living Room.
We'll likely be available to get you settled into your room and the apartment. If not, we'll tell you how to let yourself in and when we get home we'll give you the grand welcome tour.
Interaction with Guests
We interact with guest in varying degrees: We've had deep conversations, gone out clubbing, cooked dinner with and for each other, said hello in passing, or missed each other the entire time except for the initial check-in. We take it as it comes to the degree our guests want to engage or how our schedules interact. It's the guest's vacation ultimately and they make their stay with us what they want. Our job is to make sure guests feel welcome, are comfortable, and have the best experience possible while at our apartment.
The apartment building is part of a quaint residential enclave within short walking distance to restaurants and shops on Wilshire Blvd, Santa Monica Blvd, and Montana Ave. Also within an easy walk are The Third Street Promenade in Downtown Santa Monica and Palisades Park overlooking Santa Monica State Beach & Boardwalk.
We love the neighborhood because it is quiet. It's far enough away from the thick of downtown Santa Monica's tourist locations but close enough to be a comfortable walk there as well as to the beach! We also like the neighborhood because it has everything within 3-4 blocks including a grocery store, regional public transportation, coffee shops, pharmacies, dry cleaners, and more.
Santa Monica's Big Blue Bus and LA's Metro Rapid bus service are extremely convenient. Both are available for travel to Downtown Santa Monica, Venice, LAX Airport, Hollywood, Downtown LA, and generally any point in between. Big Blue bus is only $1 and the LA Metro is $2. In 2016, Santa Monica will open a light rail line (tram/trolley) connecting Santa Monica to USC and Downtown LA.
Various freeways make it convenient to get from my place to other nearby cities including Hermosa Beach, Manhattan Beach, Long Beach, Pacific Palisades, Malibu, Pasadena, Huntington Beach, Camarillo, Van Nuys, Burbank, Glendale, and Newport Beach to name a few.
Other Things to Note
Parking is on-street and typically available within one or two short blocks. If parking late at night, it might be necessary to park 2-3 short blocks away. A guest parking permit is available for street parking which we have available for a $25 refundable cash deposit while the parking permit is in your possession. Street sweeping restrictions are in effect on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings; please take note when you park.
Please ensure that your Airbnb profile has verified contact information, references from at least 3 friends and/or reviews from other hosts, and a robust profile that gives me a sense of who you are. These safeguards make Airbnb the terrific service that it is which has allowed me to meet REALLY amazing people since January 2012. If you don't have these items, prepare for quite an in-depth interview by me. :-)
Make yourself at home. Feel free to utilize the common areas of the apartment, including the kitchen... just ensure you leave things clean and tidy when finished. Please note, do not use metal utensils with pots and pans and hand wash pots, pans and cutlery.
Ensure cats are not locking into the bedroom or bathroom when leaving the apartment.
Quiet hours are from 9pm to 8am, meaning...
* Please keep noises to a minimum while walking in the building (outside of my apartment)
* Keep TV and music volume light so not to disturb neighbors.
* Laundry room use is not available. On-site, coin-op laundry hours are 8am and 9pm only. (I have detergent available for you to use)
The sidewalk outside of the building is the designated smoking area.

This was my first time using airbnb, and it was a great experience. Jimmy (and Ibrahim) are the perfect hosts. They made me feel so welcome in their home. I chose Jimmy's apartment because it's around the corner from a friend I was visiting in Santa Monica. An added treat were the two sweet, adorable cats, Flash and Sunny. Jimmy provides a wide variety of breakfast cereals which was such a nice (and unexpected) treat! The room was exactly as described. The bed is so comfortable, and I slept really well every night. Having a private bathroom was also great, and the bedroom, bath and whole apartment were spotless and comfortable. I was there for 6 wonderful days, but Jimmy & Ibrahim left after my first night for vacation. They are both so lovely that I look forward to spending more time with them on my next trip to Santa Monica. The location is perfect, not too far from the promenade, the beach, and great restaurants. The cats, Sunny & Flash, are so sweet and were wonderful companions during my stay. I'm so glad I have a place to stay whenever I visit Santa Monica!
My daughter and I were in town to visit family and stayed at Jimmy's place. It's a great location for walking to restaurants and the promenade. Jimmy gave us excellent directions to his apartment and his friend Ibrahim welcomed us when we arrived. The bed is super comfy and we liked having a private bathroom. They are excellent hosts and we would definitely stay there again. Jimmy even offered to let us stay longer if we needed because we were catching a late flight out.
If you expect to be close to the beach, Jimmy's house is definitely the best choice! My girlfriend and I had a great time there for the New Year. They both are very nice! Jimmy came to pick us up when we arrived in Santa Monica and gave us a detailed tour on the way to his house. The location is great, close to cafe shop and restaurant. The house is homey and safe. The bed is super comfortable! Flash and Sunny are lovely! We really hope we can stay for a longer time!
What an amazing experience! My girlfriend and I celebrated Christmas eve together with Jimmy (and Ibrahim). From the moment we stepped in we felt welcome. Jimmy has a good variety of breakfast options, and he and Ibrahim were so nice taking us places we would not go to ourselves. We have nothing but good recommendations. If you are considering staying at Jimmys place or another one, choose Jimmys.
We really enjoyed our time at Jimmys appartment. He is such a friendly and helpful guy and the cute cats Sunny & Flash are really very cute, peaceful and calm to have them around. The place has become with everything we've had (e.g. own bathroom, comfortable Kingsize Bed) a second home for us during our LA stay. We will miss Jimmy and his cats and our conversations :). Next Time We will stay at Jimmys again and can totally recommend it. There is absolutely nothing to complain about. Thank you very much Jimmy. Best regards, Alexander & Karin
Although Jimmy was away while I stayed, he provided friendly and detailed instructions to help find his place and get settled in. Jimmy's housemate was home during my stay; he was really lovely, gave me plenty of advice for getting about town and was nice company in the evenings along with the affectionate cats!
The room is just as depicted, clean and tidy, as was the rest of the apartment. Its also a great location; I walked in to Santa Monica's main shopping area a few times and the buses are also easy to use and only a short walk away. All in all, I loved my time in Santa Monica and staying at Jimmy's made for a great place to relax and the end of long days exploring the city.
A fabulous option at a great Santa Monica location. The host, Jimmy, made me feel super welcomed. He is a lovely person that's easy to talk to. His communication prior to my arrival was very clear and even though he wasn't home at the time I arrived, the instructions were easy to follow and everything was perfect. The room was clean and very comfortable. I adore his cats which are super friendly. I would absolutely stay here again!

I'll try nearly anything once; I am a 35 y/o adventurous spirit. I've gone skydiving, bungee jumping, bridge walking, scuba diving, and rock climbing. I enjoy road cycling and kayaking and have done one triathlon (and three centuries).
I bring warmth to those around me and extend myself when others need a hand. I believe attracting positive things to my life is a result of sharing my positive energy with others.
I have been dedicated to my career in public transit since the age of 5. Yes, 5. My early affinity for public transit, as my mom says, developed when I was tall enough to see buses passing by from the front window of our house. The commuter rail trains passing 250 yards away weren't much help in deterring me away from a career in transit either. From washing buses 15 years ago to driving them for 7 years back as late as 2004, today I am responsible for the planning and scheduling of the bus routes and driver work pieces for West LA and Santa Monica. I have a BS and MS in Transportation Management.
I live with my boyfriend and side-kick host, Ibrahim, who is the spanish-speaking guest liaison. He is the Executive Director of a non-profit that provides facial reconstruction for victims of domestic violence or cruel acts of crime. Ibrahim has a wonderful heart and enjoys helping others, especially in his work role.
We both really adore animals. We have two sibling kitties that were born and rescued from Tijuana, MX that I've had since they were 2 months old. Don't worry, los dos gatos are the most friendly kitties you'll ever meet as you can tell from our reviews. Sunny & Flash love meeting people and enjoy making guests feel at home. I hope you don't mind an occasional cat on your lap; by all means give them a light nudge from your lap or from the table any time they get too comfy.
I've done a small bit of traveling in my life. At an early age, family vacations took me to Jamaica and Cancun and in more recent years personal, business and sports brought me to Montreal, Toronto, London, Tijuana, Mexico City, Cabo San Lucas, Puerto Vallarta and Sydney. Domestically, I've been to all of New England and the DC, PA, NY area as well as Chicago, Orlando, Denver, Dallas, Fort Worth, St. Louis, Seattle, San Diego, San Francisco, and Cleveland to spout off a few. :-)
I look forward to meeting many folks through this service, perhaps one of those people will be you.
Cheers & safe travels,
