Hello & Welcome!
Explore all that greater Los Angeles has to offer while based at my Santa Monica apartment. You'll sleep well and have a comfortable stay, be close to the beach, nightlife and all that LA has to offer.
Welcome! Come and go as you please with your own set of keys... make yourself at home, just as you would your own.
Guest Bedroom and Bathroom:
Queen size bed, plenty of closet, dresser and night stand space. Light-block shades & wood shutters.
Guest bathroom is immediately adjacent to bedroom and all yours. (I use a different bathroom). Towels and bed linens provided and soap, shampoo, etc., available upon request.
Available for full use. Cereal, oatmeal, milk, juice, bread, eggs, and fruit typically available. Let me know what you prefer and I'll make sure to have them available.
Cook as much as you like. Stock the fridge with any preferred foods you'll want to use during your stay. (No metal utensils in pots/pans, cutlery must be hand washed, clean up when finished.)
Living Room / Dining Area:
Two comfy couches, basic cable TV, and wifi. This space is great for hanging out to plan adventures, get work done, or for curling up and relaxing.

Up to two youngsters may join two adults. Their sleeping arrangements can be made up on the floor next to the bed with couch cushions, pillows, sheets, and blanket... it is a workable setup.
Coin laundry available in building and nearby laundromat on Montana Ave. Laundry detergent and fabric softener are available. An iron and ironing board are also available. Personally, I frequently use Naki Laundry which offers same day laundry pick up and delivery service. Yup, they pick up and deliver laundry at my apartment door.
Los dos Gatos:
Sunny and Flash are extremely people friendly kitties and will want to greet and hangout with you. They are generally not allowed in the bedroom unless you say so. They don't have access to the bedroom when it's not being used.
Once booked, check out the "house manual" for wifi information and important notes.
Mi casa es su casa... Enjoy it like you would your own. Guests have access to the Kitchen, Guest Bedroom, Guest Bathroom, Dining Area, and TV/Living Room.
I may or may not be available to personally get you settled into that apartment and your room. If not, I will tell you how to let yourself in and when I get home I will give you the grand welcome tour.
Interaction with Guests
I interact with guest in varying degrees: I've had deep conversations, gone out clubbing, cooked dinner with and for each other, said hello in passing, or missed each other the entire time except for the initial check-in. I take it as it comes to the degree our guests want to engage with me or how our schedules interact. It's the guest's vacation ultimately and they make their stay with me what they want. My job is to make sure guests feel welcome, are comfortable, and have the best experience possible while at my apartment.
The apartment building is part of a quaint residential enclave within short walking distance to restaurants and shops on Wilshire Blvd, Santa Monica Blvd, and Montana Ave. Also within an easy walk are The Third Street Promenade in Downtown Santa Monica and Palisades Park overlooking Santa Monica State Beach & Boardwalk.
I love the neighborhood because it is quiet, far enough away from the buzz of downtown Santa Monica's tourist locations but close enough to be a comfortable walk there as well as to the beach! I also like the neighborhood because it has everything within 3-4 blocks including a grocery store, public transportation, coffee shops, pharmacies, dry cleaners, and more.
Santa Monica's Big Blue Bus and LA's Metro Rapid bus service are extremely convenient. Both are available for travel to Downtown Santa Monica, Venice, LAX Airport, Hollywood, Downtown LA, and generally any point in between. Big Blue bus is only $1 and the LA Metro is $2. In 2016, Santa Monica will open a light rail line (tram/trolley) connecting Santa Monica to USC and Downtown LA.
Various freeways make it convenient to get from my place to other nearby cities including Hermosa Beach, Manhattan Beach, Long Beach, Pacific Palisades, Malibu, Pasadena, Huntington Beach, Camarillo, Van Nuys, Burbank, Glendale, and Newport Beach to name a few.
Other Things to Note
Parking is on-street and typically available within one or two short blocks. If parking late at night it might be necessary to park 2-3 short blocks away. A guest parking permit is available for street parking which we have available for a $25 refundable cash deposit while the parking permit is in your possession. Street sweeping restrictions are in effect on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings; please take note when you park.
Please ensure that your Airbnb profile has verified contact information, references from at least 3 friends and/or reviews from other hosts, and a robust profile that gives me a sense of who you are. These safeguards make Airbnb the terrific service that it is which has allowed me to meet REALLY amazing people since January 2012. If you don't have these items, prepare for quite an in-depth interview by me. :-)
Make yourself at home. Feel free to utilize the common areas of the apartment, including the kitchen... just ensure you leave things clean and tidy when finished. Please note, do not use metal utensils with pots and pans and hand wash pots, pans and cutlery.
Ensure cats are not locking into the bedroom or bathroom when leaving the apartment.
Quiet hours are from 9pm to 8am, meaning...
* Please keep noises to a minimum while walking in the building (outside of my apartment)
* Keep TV and music volume light so not to disturb neighbors.
* Laundry room use is not available. On-site, coin-op laundry hours are 8am and 9pm only. (I have detergent available for you to use)
The sidewalk outside of the building is the designated smoking area.
Help conserve energy by turning lights off when leaving a room/apartment.
From Jan 11 - Feb 29, 2016 the minimum stay is 2 nights.
