  • Liz and Roger are some of the kindest and most generous hosts you're likely to meet anywhere. We were completely satisfied with our double room with en suite; Liz's clever attention to detail makes this more of a boutique type B&B. The grounds of their home are beautiful and we would have been very happy to relax there if the weather had been a bit better.
Haltwhistle is an ideal location if you want to explore Hadrian's Wall, again Liz and Roger will give plenty of help and advice.
We can recommend The Black Bull in the town for very good pub meals and Real Ale; easily walkable and downhill on the way home!

  • Going above and beyond our expectations! Warm and welcoming hosts who thought of every detail to make our stay relaxing & memorable. A wonderful clean & quiet room with a comfortable bed, nice ensuite and a private sitting room with television and fireplace. Beautiful lush garden to enjoy. Excellent food with a variety of breakfast choices. Ask for the porridge! Great conversation. Close to many wonderful attractions. Handy hop on & hop off shuttle bus stops right nearby for Hadrian Wall exploring. Liz & Roger were the best! Very attentive but also respecting your privacy. They had lots of suggestions for activities and for local culinary delights. Staying here was a delightful highlight to our two weeks in the UK.

  • We had a two day nightmare with a pre-arranged car rental situation that did not happen! Had to take train to Manchester to get a car- oh my:( got to Haltwhistle in the pouring rain- And lost! Liz rescued us at the gas station where we were making our second call for directions :-) poor thing was sopping wet. She and roger treated us like long lost orphaned relatives. They went above and beyond to make sure our first night in England was a thousand times better than our two nights in Wales. We have made friends for life :-) when you stay with Liz and Roger you'll be treated like family!

  • Liz and Roger were really friendly and welcoming and the house was lovely! Really good location, and handy for getting the bus that goes to all the sites along Hadrian's wall, or alternatively a nice walk out of Haltwhistle up to the wall. Breakfast was fantastic... I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a place for a quiet weekend away.

  • Liz & Roger are very warm, hospitable and welcoming hosts. Lovely home, very comfortable bedroom and shower. They have a couple of adorable and well-behaved dogs, a cat and hens we never met but laid fabulous eggs for our breakfast. Liz's full English breakfast was delicious and very filling, we highly recommend it if you're planning to walk along Hadrian's Wall afterwards, which we did. Thank you for opening up your home to us and making our first airbnb experience so wonderful and memorable. We highly recommend staying with Liz & Rogers if you're planning to visit the Hadrian's Wall.

  • Liz and Roger are delightful and we had a wonderful time staying with them in Haltwhistle. We were ushered in and made to feel right at home upon arriving and were welcomed to our very own sitting room with comfy sofas and a warm fire. We were offered treats and truly received special treatment with very sweet and kind extra details Liz saw to. The bed was very comfortable, the room was very clean, and it was nice to have our own little bathroom. The space was perfect. Liz and Roger provided great dinner recommendations and we enjoyed a little walk to pick up our take-out and were invited to make ourselves at home to enjoy our meal. Liz saw to all of the details. We felt very well taken care of and enjoyed the snacks, breakfast, and travel recommendations. We had a wonderful time conversing with Liz and Roger which was a highlight of our trip. It was lovely to be so close to Hadrian's wall and the sycamore gap. The home is in a beautiful area. We were sad to have to leave so soon and to say goodbye to Liz and Roger.

  • My husband and I had a lovely stay at Liz and Roger’s home. Everything about the home is lovely and charming, including the beautiful garden and the welcome from their friendly ducks “Meet” and “Greet.” The ensuite bedroom was spotless, well appointed and the double bed was the most comfortable I’ve slept on in ages (thank you memory foam). As we arrived in the evening and did not have dinner reservations anywhere, Liz called around for us and made us a booking at the lovely pub up the road. Dinner was delicious! Once we returned, we enjoyed having a nightcap by the fire with Roger and Liz in the living area. They are truly lovely people and it was a delight to get to know them. In the morning we were honestly surprised with how gourmet the breakfast was! From beautiful table settings to fresh berries and fruit salad to warm pain au chocolate and croissants, we were truly spoiled! I would absolutely recommend staying here and would love to visit again! (And of course, there is a great entrance to Hadrian’s wall just up the road from their home – which is why we were in the area!). Thank you Liz and Roger for a wonderful, warm and welcoming visit!
