If you're not familiar with the area, I'll give you tips about how to explore the neighborhood. You'll be living with me and my roommate. We're very easy-going.
The neighborhood is filled with great restaurants and bars on the cheap. Even better, we're located in a central location of SF that's 10 minutes away from almost every point in the city.
Muni line runs everywhere on Geary st and Van Ness. You can get almost anywhere in the city with these buses. You can also sign up for Uber (private taxi alternative) with the promo code zw0ih to get $10 credit with your first ride.
Steven was a very nice host and the room was as described on airbnb.
The only problem was the housekeeping. The bathroom and the kitchen weren´t clean at all. We could eat for example cornflakes for days because there weren´t unused spoons and bowls and you could find hair and dirt everywhere in the bathroom and kitchen. But after three days we complained about the hair, the dirt and the used dishes and steven cleaned nearly everything within the next hours.
I would have wished that it is clean right from the beginning cause from my view tidiness is a requirement if you earn money with a room.
As others have noted: Steven and his roommate Kenn are kind, accommodating hosts, and the apartment is centrally-located--strongly recommend.
Steven and Kenn were both kind and friendly, and the closet is a good place to crash for the night. One thing to keep in mind is that closets don't have power outlets, so if you want to charge your laptop you'll have to do that in the kitchen.
It is a pleasure stay at Steven's during the new year. The location is really good which is the center to Japantown, Union Square, and Chinatown. There are good restaurants nearby too, such as Brenda's Soul Food and Les Ros Thai. It's a closet room that can fit at most 2 people. It is not too spacious but good enough for a short stay. Steven is an understanding person. We had late schedule for our flight and it is really nice that we could check in/ out in a flexible hour.
I appreciate Steve and Kenn. They made us comfortable. Steve's apartment was cozy and nice. Moreover the location is very close to the union square! Due to Steve, we could enjoy travel in San francisco. It was wonderful memory. Thank you!
Steve is a good host and very friendly guy. He will make you feel like home. When I can't find the way to get inside house, even he is outside somewhere, he quickly came back and assist me with the check in.
The location is great and in the city center. You can walk to Union Square in 10-15 mins and you can find everything around. Strongly recommend
I stayed with Steven for two nights. The room is small, but the location is great and Steven and his Room mate are very nice and very accommodating.
I would highly recommend it.
CLEAN, SAFE - The closet, kitchen, and bathroom were impeccably clean. Building felt very safe and secure. My limited interactions with Steven revealed a very polite, kind, courteous host. This place is exactly as advertised, so don't go there with a plan to hang out in Steven's place the whole time, as there is not a lot of room in the closet. Air mattress was nice and firm, and I slept well, even without a window to open. Great place to crash!
Steven and his roomie, Kenn, are downright nice and friendly guys -- and this made up for the fact that the room wasn't ready/Steven forgot I made the booking with him/door was locked when he said it would be open/sheets not changed when I arrived. On the other hand: I felt safe the whole time -- a big plus for the ladies out there. I also had a lot of privacy. They leave you alone but are ready to chat and give advice when needed.
The hefty air mattress was very comfortable and it takes up most of the space. The room can get stuffy with the door shut, but there's a fan that worked great. The space around the airbed, however, was untidy -- dust bunnies, bags, boxes, paper bags and even a tall empty can of some drink (probably left over from the previous guest).
Bonus: Free use of the kitchen and bathroom. I could share their filtered water and even put some groceries on the kitchen counter. (The bathroom could be cleaner -- e.g. the trash can was overflowing, the bath rug was dirty, and I had to clean out the tub so it wouldn't clog.)
Overall: Convenient. The location was walking distance to where I had to get to for 2-day stay. And the guys had no problem with me coming in at odd/wee hours.
Steven is very nice, but he hadn't changed sheets etc and the bed is actually a large inflatable mattress. Reasonably clean and affordable overall.
