Because we share some space in the house, let's be nice to each other!
Such a nice place that I had to add a few more days to my stay! Everything was immaculate and as advertised. Great place. Would highly recommend it.
Wow! This place is amazing. I can only hope that one day I might be able to replicate an architectural/artistic masterpiece such as this.
Completely as advertised. Family was very kind and inviting.
So much so - I extended for another 2 nights!
Basement, but very nice, generous room in an impressive house in beautiful residential location. Spotlessly clean. Hiko was very flexible with a late change, and late arrival.
We stayed with Hiko and her family in the one bedroom and sitting room in the basement of their home. Everything was as described but we did have problems when we tried to heat up a late arrival snack. The lights in the bathroom went out as well as the electrical outlet in the snack area. We found out the next day that the breaker that needed to be reset was in our bedroom area. So... easily fixed if you know what the problem is. Hiko and her husband were very nice. We didn't have a lot of time to talk to them because all of us were very busy. They have a beautiful home in a safe neighborhood close to our destination which was NIH. We were very happy that they saw fit to allow us to share their home for our short stay.
Hiko was a wonderful host and made us feel right at home. Her place is wonderful, and the room was nice and airy, with a very comfortable bed. She was very accommodating and responsive and it was very easy communicating with her even before the actual stay. All the amenities were in excellent shape. Both her and her family were really friendly, and the neighborhood is beautiful. I'd love to stay with her again the next time I come to DC
Hiko was a very warm and welcoming host. The living space was very spacious, clean, and cozy. The location was also extremely convenient for my visit to the NIH, and was very easy to access from major roads.
Staying with Hiko and her family was as comfortable as staying in my own home. I enjoyed her hospitality and easy going personality. The neighborhood is beautiful and it's hard to imagine you can be in a big city in only a few minutes by bus/metro.

We came to the Washington area 25 years ago. I am Japanese and my husband is German. We have 2 lovely daughters who have grown up in three languages/3 cultures. I own a small tennis company and enjoy teaching and playing competitive tennis. We all love music and dancing to the music, either with hoola hoop or without, classic or zumba. Thinking about learning tap dance...
We enjoy different sports, playing piano etc etc.
