Had a great time staying with Rita. Her place is what I was looking for: quiet, comfy and warm. She was able to host me last minute and responded very quickly to my request. I will definitely stay with her again!
I have just spent a delightful week at Casa Lita.
Lita is a fabulous host, engaging, generous and elegant. The lovely bedroom and bathroom are exactly as described. I could not have been more comfortable and the location is quiet and very central. Lita greatly enriched my stay in San Miguel - introducing me to so many great people and giving me lots of inside tips. She was generous with her time, and her hospitality. She even made dinner for me, with wine, the first night I arrived and then handed me a delicious lunch she had made as I left her house to catch the noon shuttle to Mexico City. I highly recommend Casa Lita, a San Miguel gem.
Staying at Lita's, I was not only welcomed into her house, but I was thoughtfully welcomed into wonderful peaces of her life; meeting her great friends, invited to (fabulous!) cocktail parties she threw while I was there, and taught about what's worth experiencing in San Miguel and what I can miss. Staying with Lita is a perfect example of what, to me, airbnb is all about: the opportunity to experience the authentic 'life' of the place you travel. Casa Lita is in a fantastic location, easy walking to the Jardin and Centro, but enough off the beaten path to sleep soundly at night. The accommodations (two twin beds) were so comfortable and truly felt like a suite! Walk-in closet, private bathroom with giant tub, all beautifully designed and decorated (just like every inch of the rest of her beautiful home), and with a lovely street view over the neighbors' gardens. A fresh and scrumptious breakfast was included every morning, and Paty, the housekeeper, was available if need be (laundry, etc.) and was speedy and discreet with taking care of the room. Lita was so fabulous with recommending incredible restaurants, activities, and markets to visit and provided a map and guides to the area, not to mention how helpful she was with suggesting the best way to get from the airport to San Miguel ($29!). Lita is a gifted host and her hospitality, from a welcome glass of wine, to her delicious cooking, to her stories and tireless recommendations and knowledge of 'what's up' in San Miguel, were so appreciated. She was always available. And, not to be overlooked, Schnapps the dachshund was dear to cuddle with, and was always available as well ;)
This was my first experience with Airbnb, and wow, what an experience! The home was just beautifully furnished, on a quiet street but close to everything. The room was very comfortable for my sister and me, with lovely linens, ample closet space and nice full bath. I loved the skylight over the tub. The beds were comfortable as well. It was beautifully appointed with Lita's boxes she has collected from her travels all over the world.
But what really made the stay so special was Lita. What a consummate host! She welcomed us to her world, introduced us to her friends, invited us out in the evening. She offered top notch wine and breakfast was very, very good. She had wonderful suggestions for things to see and do, and was helpful in problem solving, even after we left to travel to another part of the country. Her sidekick Schnapps kept us company with snuggles. And Pati took care of our room so discreetly.
We can't thank Lita enough for hosting us and we both feel that we've made a new friend.
My wife and I enjoyed this home for 11 days and wished we could have stayed longer. Not only was it lovely and comfortable but it was on a quiet street without any traffic and its central location allowed us to walk almost everywhere.
The "room" is more a suite with a walk-in closet and en-suite full bath, giving you plenty of room to settle in.
Casa Lita and San Miguel de Allende complement each other.
Elegance in style, generosity in spirit characterize Lita Randall and her magnificent home in San Miguel de Allende. Daughter and I arrived late due to traffic, but Lita was waiting for us with wine and food, ready to make us feel welcome. The "room with two single beds and bath" is a very discrete description of a sumptuously decorated, magnificently designed home. Our room opened onto a small balcony facing a wall of bouganvilla, and the sound of the morning birds. We were invited to be comfortable and use all the amenities of the home - everything from an enclosed patio with fountain, to the study equipped with communication devices, to the roof top garden with views of the town. Lita was the consummate hostess, rising early to make sure our croissants were warm and coffee freshly brewed. She is a talented chef with an international flair in her cooking style. Lita included us in gatherings of her friends and made certain we had maps and information. She is well connected in San Miguel and can help her guests locate just about anything from great food to special gifts to highly skilled service providers. I can't believe how lucky we were to have found Lita and her beautiful home. The welcome by Lita and her beloved companion Schnapps was trully warm and sincere. Lucia Kelsey
The room (and the house) are very confortable, clean and beautiful, within walking distance to the historical center. Casa Lita is everything you need to spend vacations in San Miguel de Allende, definitely would book it again.

I love to travel and because I'm retired from the airlines, get to do it frequently. I'm a former Flamenco dancer but am now obsessed with Tango and travel to Buenos Aires at least once a year to dance. I entertain frequently and like nothing more than providing mulit-course meals for my many friends.
