Gated, Private, Garden Property 200 meters from the Caribbean Sea. The "Owner's Cabin"...available when the owner is "off property". It is a separate building from the "Inn" itself. Large Cathedral ceiling, California King Sized Bed, Fully Equipped Kitchen, Full Bathroom, Dining Area, Living Room Area, Large Screen Patio
My Cabin is a private, separate building within our Gated, Garden Property of the Toucan Stay Inn (but 3 can't)...just 200 meters from Playa Punta Uva which was rated on of the TOP 10 Natural Beaches of the World by Outsider Magazine and Leisure Mag.
Some amenities include: Remote Control A/C, Satellite TV, Stereo, DVD player, Hammocks and even a massage table
Cabin Guests have access to everything offered:
Use of Garden Terrace, Book and DVD library, Games, Garden Pavillion (w/hammocks), BBQ Grill, Beach Hammocks, Beach Towels, etc. etc.
With ONLY 3 accommodations (2 apartments and my Cabin), and the fact that most of our guests are couples, we attempt to keep the "surroundings" intimate and private. However, quite often our guests (couples) meet each other...and "click"...plan to "hang out" together or share meals "on or off property". Management is often invited to join the "party". We just suggest that guests "play it by ear".
Besides lounging around on hammocks on our property and doing the beach...there are many things to do.
Punt Uva which means "Grape Point". You can actually hike out to the "point" and stand on its ledge with the Ocean surrounding you. It's quite a site. Grape Point has 2 sides...and therefore 2 beaches. Each one beautiful...yet different. Our side has a Beachfront Bar/Restaurant, a Dive Shop and a Convenience Store (all within meters of our door). The other side is also gorgeous...and has a Beachfront Bar/Restaurant. Within a mile or two in either direction we have more than a half dozen or more very good restaurants. Many owned by foreigners from the US, Argentina, Israel, Italy, Poland and Australia...to mention a few.
Well, if we don't have some working bikes for you...they are available to rent nearby (approx. $5 per day). The Bus Stop is within a few yards of our front door. Taxis are about $10 (US or 5,000 Colones) to get into Puerto Viejo (our hub...with shops, kiosks, clubs and more restaurants)
Rental Cars, Scooters and Quads are also rentable in Puerto Viejo.
1) FOREMOST...It is important for guests to realize that they are in a 3rd World Country. Be Safe...and don't attract attention to yourselves by wearing expensive jewelry, showing wads of money or carrying expensive possessions. It is a very casual and "layback" atmosphere
2) English is spoken quite prevalently in the area. The Caribbean was mostly developed by the Caribbean Islanders who came here to work for the United Fruit Company over 100 years ago. They were British Islands...thus English speaking.
