My 18 year old daughter who is a freshman at Macalester College arranged our stay prior to her scheduled knee surgery. It took research to find a place that was accessible without stairs from the street and had bathroom and bedroom on one floor. Nan and Scott were helpful and accommodating during our full-time residence during the week of my daughter's recovery from knee surgery. I was able to cook meals in their kitchen and we used the music room as our sitting room/dining room/TV area, which was a nice break from the bedroom. I would highly recommend this to anyone recovering from orthopedic surgery or anyone who is unable to negotiate stairs, though I don't believe it is wheelchair accessible.
I stayed with Nan & Scot for about a month and a half. They are a very friendly, helpful and really nice couple. The room was very spacious and comfortable. Living with a cat was a first for me, but Bear was very friendly and lovable (even though I'm not really a pet person). It was very nice of them to cook dinner a few times and were always eager to direct me to things to do in the area. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would recommend to anyone!
This was a wonderful place to stay. The bed was extremely comfortable with a window to open for fresh just above the bed. The bathroom was right across the hall. Nan and Scott were very helpful. It is conveniently close to my daughter's apartment. I would definately stay here again.
The house is in a lovely, quiet neighborhood about fifteen minutes from the airport. We spent just one night there before flying out in the morning. The room was clean, with towels and robes waiting for us, and clean bed sheets. The room is on the ground level from the driveway which translates as the basement level of the house. There was a clean bathroom right across from our room, which was super helpful. And the downstairs door to the driveway was also helpful to not disturb the rest of the house. Nan and Scott seemed really nice and relaxed, and the cat was the perfect welcome committee, full of playfulness and affection.
My second stay with Nan and Scott was as wonderful as the first. They are gracious hosts, anticipating needs in a tuned-in, low-key manner. The Art Room is perfectly appointed--reading chair, soft lighting and---the pinnacle of comfort--best cozy bathrobe known to man. The separate entrance and the privacy of the lower level create a cozy, quiet, urban retreat. Beautiful gardens a bonus...Thank you!
Very easy place to come and stay the night. Comfortable, homey, and everything we needed to come and go on a very quick visit. Nan and Scott are friendly, experienced hosts. Perfect overall.
My daughter and I had a great stay at Nan and Scott's lovely home. The bed was comfortable and we had everything we needed. My daughter loved the cat!

We truly love creating a welcoming space for guests. We love cooking fabulous meals and sharing conversation over a bottle of wine with any guests who are interested. And the space is great for folks who want quiet and privacy. We both bike a LOT, and can help you explore the "most bike friendly city in the U.S." We're pretty up on the current music scene too. Scott owns a graphic design and marketing business, and Nan is a chaplain/religion teacher/service coordinator at a near by school.
