Neighborhood highlights

Bridgeport is historic with character - a walkable, locally vibrant neighborhood. A wonderful mix of residential areas alongside creative spaces — historically Lithuanian and Italian, now a blend of Chinese-American, Mexican-American, artists, and long-term Chicago families. It’s quiet but close to downtown with great transit access to the Orange and Red Lines.

Full of independent food, art, and coffee options. With half a dozen coffee shops within a few blocks, it's a coffee-lover's paradise. The creativity seems to be growing exponentially with resale shops, skate shops, bars, printmakers, art spaces, art walks, tattoos and lovely dive bars and creative markets at Antique Taco & Ramova on a Sunday, yoga and other workshops at Tangible Books sometimes on weekends. The neighborhood has a safe, residential feel, yet is close to any amenities you'd need.

This is a great location from which to base camp and discover larger Chicago events, but you might just want to decide to walk around and have a recharging, different, unplugged kind of experience through Bridgeport's cultural richness. Nevermind ‘discover Bridgeport’ how about ‘discover yourself!’
