Back on the market! An alternative to hotel rooms, private & located in a quiet, residential backyard ~ sits "The Roost". Less than 2 miles from TAMU, The Roost is an ideal respite, perfect for business/conference attendees, parents, Reunions, Day retreats, & sports fans! Day, week, weekend - we are ready & would be honored to be your home away from home. The clean, cozy, tiny house awaits you with sitting space, comfy beds, a generous porch & yard for entertaining or a quiet cup of coffee.

The space
The Roost is a tiny-home/guest house - located in the backyard of a private residence. Perfect for the business traveler, parents, families, or fans coming to enjoy the Brazos Valley for recreation, touring or visiting Texas A&M. An oasis from crowds, accessible through a private fenced, paved gated driveway, your tiny house accommodations will welcome your arrival. A short walk past the raised vegetable gardens and the wood fired pizza oven leads you to a generous porch which opens to your getaway, in the city, yet worlds away. Please note The Roost is not available for ring dunks. Contact me for week/month rentals.

Wi-fi enabled and Bluetooth stereo hook up to indoor and outdoor speakers allowing you to listen to your music. 2 comfortable rocking "egg" chairs, hassock and pouf allow you to put your feet up after a long day while the ceiling fan keeps the cool air from the mini-split circulating. The "Kyle Field Quartz" table [same quartz is in the suites at Kyle field] is on casters giving you the flexibility to use it as a dining table, food prep or desktop work-space, with seating for any of these options. The well lit kitchen area is decorated by custom made keg lamps from College Station's original brewery: New Republic. The Refrigerator/Freezer, Microwave, Convection oven, hot pot, and coffee maker allow for your own meal prep - YES, you are welcome to collect eggs from our chickens - whom we affectionately call "The Ladies"!.

The broad porch beckons you to sit, listening to the croaking frogs welcoming night fall on Bee Creek, and then the sunrise welcomes you in with a fresh cup of local "What's the Buzz" coffee. Bathed in the shade of the mature American Elm, watch local birds and hear the hum of cicadas in the summer. The wrap around porch overlooks the creek, with plenty of places to "be". You can watch the hawks as they circle the water looking for their prey or sometimes see the owl as she silently overlooks the scene.

Washer and dryer on site [in garage] and available for your use too.

There are 3 laying hens on the property as well, you will see them free ranging, or in their private chicken yard, so if you like fresh eggs with your jam and toast, you are in luck. The ladies are layin - if you want to collect the eggs - you are welcome to do so! Breakfast is provided on your first morning when booking for two or more nights.

The indoor Roku TV, and 2 outdoor patio fans are ready for use, as is the pizza oven. There is a battery powered candelabra on the porch for mood lighting if you wish. When the chill of autumn and winter are upon the Brazos Valley, there is a bullet heater, patio heaters, and blankets ready to keep you warm whilst you are outside.

For your use: A pizza oven [instructions in The Roost], a gas and charcoal grill, as well as additional patio space, with a fire pit, in the event your crowd overflows. We want you to feel at home. Welcome in!

Guest access
You will have use of the entire Roost, the backyard and lawn area, pizza oven and the washer and dryer in our garage, in addition to the amenities listed in "The Space".
Our property is not available for ring dunks.

Other things to note
Right outside the back gate there is a City of College Station walking trail which connects Consol High School to Bee Creek park. This trail borders Bee Creek and is a wildlife area - great critter and bird sightings happen here. In front of the house, there are sidewalks for you to use for your daily exercise, easy to walk to Consolidated High school, or Bee Creek park with a great playground and expansive baseball fields. Bee Creek Park is home to one of College Station's Monarch Butterfly Waystations, built and sustained by citizens and Students Advancing In Leadership [SAIL] - an A&M student leadership organization, involved in Butterflies in the Brazos, as well as the Andy Anderson Arboretum, and Adamson Lagoon [open seasonally] - a city pool maintained by College Station. Ask me if you want to use the back gate as it is locked and I will happily share the key with you.

Howdy! Rodney and I are Aggies who met at fishcamp over 40 years ago - our 6 kids have emptied the nest, so we built The Roost, so folks could gather in a comfortable place to enjoy each other, get some sleep and make memories. Rodney is a professor at the big school, and when I am not facetiming with a grandbaby, one might find me playing in the garden, walking, or simply enjoying life with friends or through quiet prayer. We travel whenever we can to see our kids and little Grands who are scattered on the map like dice on game board. "Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by this some have entertained angels without knowing it." Hebrews 13:2
