The Space

You will find our rental rates on Airbnb to be very competitive and include Hawaii taxes. Our rates are also structured with discounts based on length-of-stay beginning with seven nights or more.

The condo is completely renovated with ceramic tile flooring throughoutall and walk-in porcelain tiled showers in both bathrooms, with the kitchen counter and master bath vanity tops tiled as well. All the kitchen appliances were replace during the renovation along with the lighting fixtures. All the ceiling areas have been filled with insulation and faced with 2-ply bamboo. Along with fresh paint throughout, all electrical outlets and switches have been replaced and additional outlets added. Our condo is located at Sandpiper Village I. The Sandpiper grounds boast beautiful mature landscaping and a pool complex with a large tile-bottomed pool plus a good size jacuzzi and two Webber gas grills. My condo is less than a minute walk to the pool complex and about a 3 to 20 minute drive to more than a dozen beaches on the norht shore.

There are Webber gas barbecue grills available for guests to use on a complimentary basis at the large pool complex, located less than a minute's walk from the unit. Hot meals prepared in this manner can either be enjoyed at the pool or taken back to the condo. The Princeville Resort is located on Kauai's North Shore where you are just minutes away from exploring her many wondrous attractions such as pristine, secluded beaches, the best Kauai has to offer. Great snorkeling, windsurfing, board surfing, or swimming are just minutes away as well. A hike on the Kalalau Trail along the Na Pali Coast reveals unparalleled vistas of ocean, mountains, waterfalls, and sheer cliffs that will stay with you forever. And for the golf enthusiast, Princeville is the home of two world class golf courses, the Maikai Course and the Prince Course ranked #1 in Hawaii by Golf Magazine.   • We enjoy the Condo from Karl&Rachel this February. Its a really nice place, we had everything what we need. A full kitchen with everything in it. The Place was really clean and nice. Karl was really fast in answer all question that we had. The next time when we go to Kauai we would love to stay there again.

  • My family and I had an amazing time at Karl & Rachel's. I loved the set up. The upstairs loft felt especially cozy. Everything was clean and just like in the pictures. Easy 1 mile walk/jog to Queen's Bath and a hop away from Foodland, which was our go-to for our daily serving of poke. We had to make some changes to our reservation and Karl was gracious in his flexibility and understanding. Can't beat the value for the price and location! Overall, perfect place to stay in the north shore.

  • Really nice neighborhood. The apartment is big and clean. The beds were a little bit hard but ok. Nice kitchen and dining area! Great jacuzzi by the pool...had a lovely stay!

  • Karl was very quick to answer my questions. He was easy to communicate with and sent detailed information about housing, entry, parking and the pool. This 2 bedroom was perfect for our needs. We were able to unwind at the pool and hot tub most nights.

  • The place was perfect for us! We were two couples and choosed the Princeville-area on the north shore of Kauai. Princeville itself is a kind of "Condo-and-Golfcourse-Village". But there were supermarkets and cafes/restaurants nearby. The condo ist equipped very good for cooking and BBQ-ing. The pool-area is nice and the reserved parking-lot is perfect. We had nice conversations with other inhabitants of the condo in the evening while doing our BBQ on the gas-grills. If you want to drive to the Waimea-Canyon or Koke'e-State-Park trails, be aware, that this means a 2 hour drive. For what we planned, Princeville was the perfect place. We would definitely recommend this place again.

  • We loved our stay at the Sandpiper unit! Very well located in the North Shore of Kauai. Big lanai, well furnished kitchen and very convenient washer and dryer machine in the unit. There was no A/C but it was not a concern for us as the air circulates very well in this condo and there are good quality fans on the ceilings. There are a lot of year round resident living in the Sandpiper village and everyone was really nice with us. They offered to help with our luggages, shared their snorkelling tips and even gave ours kids treats for Halloween!

  • We had a very nice but short stay in the condo. Great location on the north shore. Close to napali coast and some of the best beaches in the island. The apt itself is clean and spacious for all five of us. Having breakfast on the patio is definitely a treat. And relaxing in the jacuzi at night after hiking is just amazing!

  • Had a great stay in Princeville. The apartment was well furnished, and very comfortable. It's definitely a good option if you plan to spend any time on the North Shore (which you MUST if you are visiting Kauai). Initial concerns about the temperature at night without AC were unfounded, we were very comfortable with the fan on. The washer/dryer wound up being a lifesaver... Our last night we did laundry, and then wound up having our flight cancelled the next day and had to stay in some random hotel for two nights, but at least we had clean clothes!

  • This was a great space shared by two couples very comfortably. Karl e-mailed a very clear and thorough list of instructions far in advance, which made things extremely easy and straightforward. Would highly recommend!

My wife, Rachel, and I first visited Kauai in the early eighties and just got hooked. We bought our first vacation rental property in 2001 at Sandpiper Village in Princeville and spent about 5-1/2 months renovating it. We dreamed that one day we might be able to make Kauai our permanent home, and we were fortunate to actually make this happen in January of 2006. We bought our second vacation rental property at Puamana in August of last year (2010), as our second vacation rental property. and after a renovation period, placed it on line as a 3 bedroom 2 bath townhouse vacation rental. My wife still works as a flight attendant and I am retired (for all the guys out there, I'll be writing a book soon about how to make that happen). However, I keep busy managing both properties, when we're not dancing, playing softball/tennis, or at the beach. One of the advantages of living here on Kauai and offering vacation properties for rent is that any issues with units that may arise are addressed immediately and decisively through direct communication between the guests and me, the owner. There is no go-between management company in the loop to delay any action that may be required. It's a win-win for everyone.
