Peace and quiet

This home is in a quiet area.
So relaxing! Hidden behind adobe walls, enter into your own private courtyard, where you can sit beneath the shaded umbrella and pear tree. In the winter, curl up in front of the fireplace in this 120 year old, 2 bedroom adobe home on a quiet street with ample off-street parking, just two blocks from Canyon Road. All has been kept in traditional Santa Fe style, but with newly renovated kitchen and bath.

Your hosts, a sculptor and his wife, welcome you to the real Santa Fe.

The space
Our beautiful adobe home has two bedrooms, one with a queen-sized bed, and one with a twin. It has a full kitchen and a large bathroom, with plenty of closet space to stow your bags. Enjoy the leather couches in the living room under the vigas and latillas, loll in the sun-filled bedroom where the morning light filters in through twin skylights, or bring your coffee mug and paper outside to breakfast in the garden. There is internet inside, and in the summer, an outdoor grill for you if you want to do some cooking from our wonderful Farmer's Market!

We've created a little personalized Santa Fe guide to share our favorite places in and around town, from off-the-beaten-path restaurants to nice neighborhood walks. We are a legally permitted short-term rental by the City of Santa Fe - which means we are fully inspected for fire, safety, code, etc.

Other things to note
We just started renting for less than a month for the first time since 2020 (thus the lack of recent reviews).

If you wish to stay for over a month, please send us a note via "Contact Host" instead of booking directly, so that we can give you a better deal!

For summer visitors - June is the hottest month in Santa Fe, before the summer monsoons begin. Like most real adobes, this home does not have central air conditioning (the thick adobe walls are self regulating, along with our cool nights in summer), but as of spring 2024 we are adding a mini-split AC unit in the middle of the apartment. We also have evaporative coolers for each bedroom. However - if you are the kind of person who is used to central air conditioning all the time, best to book another location in June and July.

This is a no-smoking (inside and outside), no drugs, no pets household.

Neighborhood highlights

Perfect location in the middle of everything! Walk down the hill five minutes and you are on famous Canyon Road, filled with art galleries and restaurants. The is one of Santa Fe’s loveliest old neighborhoods, and one of the nicest things to do is simply to stroll.

We are a quick drive or a beautiful 30-minute stroll to the 406-year-old downtown Plaza, with its historic buildings and amazing shopping. It is about an equal distance to the Railyard, full of contemporary art galleries and the year round farmer's market.

We are a three minute drive or short walk to Santa Fe's Museum Hill, home to the The International Folk Art Museum, Museum of Spanish Colonial Art, Museum of Indian Arts and Culture, and the Wheelwright Museum of the American Indian.

For more active days, the trailhead for the Dorothy Stewart and Dale Ball Trail Systems is five minutes away, and are great for a casual stroll, a vigorous hike, a trail run, or mountain biking.

In the winter, it is a straight shot to the ski hill - we are on the right side of town, so there aren't any stoplights between you and good skiing!
