About This Listing
Wide and sunny apartment in a beautifull old mansion just 10 minutes walking from the city centre. There is a kitchenette in this apartement, and a bathroom with shower, big bath (!) and toilet. Very much privacy because of the own front door.
This apartment consists a large, sunny room from 7 to 5.5 meters on the second floor of 56b. There is a Bathroom with bath, shower and toilet. The apartment also has a kitchenette. From the room you have a beautiful view over the trees of the park.
There is a lot of color here and used a combination of old and new furniture. There is a bed of 180 wide (cold foam mattress) a (painted) table with four chairs, a sofa (bed) and a beautiful antique cupboard for dishes and breakfast items. There's work of me on the wall. The bathroom is at the back, under the (partial) sloping roof. Delicious luxury with a deep antique bath, a shower, a sink and a toilet. Next to the bathroom is a kitchenette including a microwave oven, a two burner stove and refrigerator.
Because of its location at the top of the house and the fact that all the facilities in the apartment are there, it offers a lot of privacy.
Of course there is a TV and free WiFi. The couch can be made into a second double bed. The beds can be made with double- or single coverlets. Many friends and families have stayed here this way, very comfy and advantageous. If you made a reservation with breakfast (5 euro pppn extra) I put the breakfast in the fridge so you can prepare and have your breakfast in the room at the time you prefer.
Guests have acces to their own apartment (with WIFI, facilities to make tea and coffee and breakfast) and the stairways in which they can find a standard with flyers and info about Maastricht.
Interaction with Guests
When guests arrive I show them the appartment and give them a little map and a guide of the city. When they need other information (like where to eat, what to see) whe chat a little about Maastricht etc.
Most of the time that is all the interaction we have. When they check out, and I am not there, they leave the keys in the letterbox.
I live just outside the old city and the house gives out to a park, which is an arboretum actually. I love the wide view of large trees and sometimes squirrels who play around. Within 5 minutes walking you are in the old city, but when you walk the other way you enter within 5 minutes the nature reserve around the little river 'JEKER' that comes from Belgium and then find its way throught the city ( working watermill with bakery) where it enters the 'MAAS'. In autumn and winter when the trees are bare, you can see the 'Pietersberg', where you can wander around.
In Maastricht you can do almost everything by foot. It is a small but very cosy city. From the Station to my house you best take a bus, which brings you in 10 minutes to my front door. When you like, you can rent a bike not far from the house, and find your way in the city but also in the beautifull surroundings.
I would like my guests to feel at home and have a good time. The only rule I have is that they lock the front door when going in or out.
Everything was perfect. The apartment was really nice and well-located.

About the Host, Piekel
Hi, my name is Piekel and I am a painter of art. About 10 years ago I moved from Amsterdam to Maastricht (sometimes one needs a change of atmosphere, I can recommend it! ). I could buy this beautifull double house in this marvellous little city. In the house on the groundfloor I lived with my 2 children, who are now both studying in... Amstedam. And there is also room enough for a big studio. In the house on the second and third floor I made a B&B. I find making art and running a B&B is an ideal combination. The creative but lonesome work in my studio mixes very good with the functional work for the B&B. To welcome the guests, even though the contact is usually very brief, makes me always happy and proud.
