A sunny and wide appartment on 10 minutes walking from the old centre of Maastricht. Own rise, bathroom and toilet. There is a waterboiler Coffee and tea are there as much as you like. Not a real kitchen but there is a combi-oven and little stove. Sliding doors to make two rooms.

The space

The apartment is situated on the first floor in the frontpart of the house. You have another front door than the guests of the house. There is a staircase which leads to the first floor with the apartment. There is a little hall, with doors to the big bathroom (with bath and eparate shower) and to the living. This living has sliding doors in the middle so you can make two (bed)rooms. In the frontroom there is a couch, a table with four chairs and a little counter whith fridge, combi-stove and waterboiler. This is not a real kitchenette, because no sink, but there is a hotplate where you can boil an egg or milk. There are two windows and a door to the little balcony. Here you can anjoy the sun, during most of the day (SO) and overlook the trees of the park. The backroom has an old fashioned king-size bed and (2x2m) and wardrobe. The two windows look out over the patio of the groundfloor house and the neighbourhouses.
The toilet is on the landing, but private.

Guest access

In the appartment there is eveything you need: Wifi, waterboiler, coffee, tea, cups of jam/marmelade and butter. Flyers and info about what to do in Maastricht, a little map, a guide. Own toilet, own bathroom. TOURISTTAX: I am obliged to charge touristtax for the council of Maastricht. It is 1,89 per person per night. You can pay it cash when you are here.

Interaction with guests

I live in the apartment on the second floor. The guests and I use the same frontdoor and stairs, but the apartment is totally private and you will not be bothered by me. Sometimes guests and I only meet when they arrive and never see each other again. When you arrive I'll show you the apartement and am happy to answer all your questions and to provide you with info, maps or flyers about the city and her surroundings. If you need help or extra info during your stay, I am always reachable by phone.

Other things to note

In my accommodation one has to pay touristtax to the council of Maastricht. It is not included in the Airbnb-price. In 2016 it is 1,89 euro per person per night. You can pay this cash when you arrive.

Loved the vintage looking flat with plenty of artistic touches. Very unique place. Tub and bed were so cozy.

A wonderful break from Amsterdam in the beautiful setting that is Maastricht. Lovely little flat just outside the city walls. Piekel is so friendly with a refreshing "no worries" attitude. Im sure you've seen the photos of the bath. It's as dreamy as in the pictures. Getting in is a must.

Piekel was a wonderful host and has a perfect location to stay if you are visiting Maastricht! She made my trip very easy, was extremely helpful, and had a very lovely home to stay in. I would recommend her place any time of the year! A great experience overall.

A place full of character. Spacious and comfortable and good hospitality from the host, Piekel. Well located for Parks, /Uni and downhill to the town centre. Good location with a bus stop, cafe next door and a good supermarket close. Not a fault but somethng to be mindful of is that you need to be able to climb steep stares to the second floor - fine for most people.

Booked this Apartment based on how pretty I thought it looked. It completely came up to our expectations. We hope to be able to book it again next time we are in town. The bed is incredibly comfortable and yes bathing in that Bath is as great as you are imagining! Our Hostess was very helpful, kind and knowledgeable. Thankyou for making us feel so welcome. Hope to see you next year.

While not super centrally located, it is walkable to Maastricht's old town center (Vrijthof). Location is quiet, and across from a nice park. Apartment was on the first floor. Furniture was basic but bed was large and comfortable and towels of super quality..

Beautiful apartment very close to the old centre of Maastricht. Great place to stay with large open space, giant comfortable bed, gorgeous bath, nice balcony and decorated with warm and interesting features. Easy to walk from the train station and with a good supermarket only a couple of minutes away. Piekel was very easy going and gave us some great suggestions of things to do around Maastricht. Would definitely stay at Piekel's apartment again, a lovely comfortable place that really makes you feel at home.

Hi, my name is Piekel and I am a painter of art. About 10 years ago I moved from Amsterdam to Maastricht (sometimes one needs a change of atmosphere, I can recommend it! ). I could buy this beautifull double house in this marvellous little city. In the house on the groundfloor I lived with my 2 children, who are now both studying in... Amstedam. And there is also room enough for a big studio. In the house on the second and third floor I made a B&B. I find making art and running a B&B is an ideal combination. The creative but lonesome work in my studio mixes very good with the functional work for the B&B. To welcome the guests, even though the contact is usually very brief, makes me always happy and proud.
