The space
This cozy older home with original fireplace, vintage low ceilings, and plenty of history, is located on a unique 472-acre property which includes a large pond and several hiking trails through woods. There's a spacious backyard featuring a fire pit patio, flower garden, grilling area, and hammock. A charming screened-in porch overlooks the backyard and pond. It leads to an outdoor deck with a 6-person hot tub.

The house is furnished with everything you need for your stay, including linens, towels, basic toiletries, kitchen equipment, and cooking staples.

The first floor is made up of a large kitchen, laundry area, full-sized bathroom with tub/shower, screened-in porch with dining area, dining room, living room and one large bedroom. A steep stairway leads to the second floor, which boasts gorgeous pine paneling. Here you will find a spacious bedroom with TV, sitting area and workspace, a large hall closet that is perfect for clothing and luggage, a nice bathroom with stall shower, and a cozy loft room that's perfect for children.

Guest access
Guests have private use of the house, hot tub, and backyard area, which includes a grill, picnic table, and fire pit next to the 2-acre pond.

Guests are also welcome to hike and explore the trails through the 450+ wooded acres beyond the backyard. The property includes a working farm with barns, a hopyard, and a farm brewery - you may see us or others on these additional grounds.

Guests will not have use of the garage, but are welcome to borrow sporting equipment like snowshoes and x-country skis from it.

Other things to note

Lives in Connecticut, United States
My husband and I are from large farm families and were raised in New England. We enjoy the quiet life in Connecticut, the change of seasons and the great outdoors. After many years of work and travel for business, we are happy to call ourselves homebodies. I enjoy family, decorating, baking and entertaining. John loves all outdoor work. He likes to garden, farm, cut all of our firewood and restore old tractors. We recently acquired the property next door and began improvements. Our son and daughter-in-law travel quite a bit and highly recommended we offer the property on Airbnb. Having used Airbnb properties for their trips, they felt that our property had so much to offer guests, such as the hiking trails, porch, hot tub, fire pit, and pond. With their inspiration and guidance, we feel that we have made this rental very inviting. This has been a family endeavor and the property lends itself to families. "Home is where the heart is!"
