The Space

Our cabin has been our hideout in Lake Tahoe for almost 15 years, set just two blocks off of North Lake Boulevard in the center of Tahoe City. We are an easy walk to everything this awesome little mountain town has to offer.

There are two bed rooms, 1BR with Queen bed, 2nd BR with 2 Queen beds, and a convertible full futon in the living room.

The bathroom is tiled with a stall shower and we installed a large (30 gal) hot water heater so hot showers are plentiful for all. The kitchen features marble counters, a gas range, dish washer, garbage disposal and lots of pots and pans. Also a dining table with extension leaves for group dinners. We often cook for larger groups, usually with the gas grill on the side deck that opens off the kitchen. There is hot tub off the back deck.

There is WIFI and a 46 inch LCDTV with a DVD player and Chromecast connected for streaming movies and such. There is NO Local TV or cable, but anything you can stream on your device you can Chromecast. The powered Bose speakers also have a pin jack for connecting your favorite music device or laptop. There are also several USB wall outlets built in, able to charge any device as long as you have a cord. We tend leave lots of chargers lying about, you are welcome to use them, but they should not leave the house (please!)

If you check the Google map you see we are literally in the center of Tahoe City, the house is in the flat section of town so there are no killer hills to walk or bike between us and all the restaurants, bars and shopping in Tahoe City. Safeway Plaza is 3 blocks away, as is Commons beach and lake access. There are bars and coffee shops even closer and the Tahoe City Golf course butts up to Grove Street just ½ block outside the back door.

The bike path runs for miles and the top of the hill past the house offers direct access to miles of national forest and fire trails (personally I drive up and bike from the top.)

We love the cabin because it is central to the town of Tahoe City. You can seriously spend a week here and never need your car.

Hot tub - the whole house...no limitations

Mostly Electronic. We are happy to help in any way, but we do not live in the area. We have a local friend who is able to swing by if there are any issues as well as neighbors that check in on the property. But most of our guests do not see us during their stay.

The Neighborhood

Tahoe City ROCKS! I lived there for years, our cabin is centrally located and you can walk all over town, restaurants/shopping and public lake access

There are buses, cabs are impossible, you can bike in the summer, otherwise it is a car town.

House Rules

SMOKING POLICY – This unit is non-smoking.

PET POLICY – A maximum of 2 well behaved, HOUSE TRAINED dogs are welcome guests. Any damage or excessive pet hair requiring additional cleaning will be billed through the security deposit. Pets NOT allowed on the furniture. Please do not leave pets alone in the house (unless they are crated) if they have ANY nervous habits...ie: chewers and tinklers!

RENTAL RESTRICTIONS – You must be twenty-five (25) years of age or older to rent this unit. The cabin is in a residential area, so please be aware of noise level. Renters are not eligible for refund in the case of eviction (by owner, representative of owner, or law enforcement) for excessive noise or disorderly conduct.

MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY – The standard number of guests is four (4) persons. An additional charge of $25.00 per person per night for guests in addition to four (4) MAXIMUM eight (8) will be assessed.

MINIMUM STAY – This property requires a three (3) night minimum stay. Longer minimum stays may be required during holiday periods. If a rental is taken for less than three days, the guest will be charged the three-night rate.

Post-Stay Information

HOUSEKEEPING PROCEDURE – Housekeeper will arrive at check-out time. Guests are responsible for placing all trash in the bear box (and properly disposing of trash that does not fit in the bear box), as well as for placing soiled dishes in the dishwasher and turning the dishwasher on.

CLEANING: may occur additional cleaning charges if the cabin is left exceptionally dirty. (Trash not taken out, dishes left in sink, etc.)

CHECK-OUT PROCEDURE – The unit should be left locked. Please check all doors!

LATE CHECK-OUT PENALTY – A fee of $50 will be assessed for late check-out.

HOUSE SUPPLIES – The house generally contains minimal supplies of toilet paper, dish soap, dishwasher detergent, condiments, and trash and recycling bags, though this is not guaranteed; guests are responsible for additional supplies of such products.

PARKING – Parking is limited to four (4) vehicles. Vehicles are to be parked in the driveway only. Parking on the road is not permitted. Parking on the grass will get you a shotgun introduction to the neighbor. Any illegally parked cars are subject to towing; applicable fines/towing fees are the sole responsibility of the vehicle owner.

HOT TUB – No children under the age of twelve (12) permitted in the hot tub at any time. When using the hot tub, remember there is a certain health risk associated with this facility. Use at your own risk. Our housekeepers sanitize and replenish chemicals in the tub prior to your arrival. DO NOT STAND ON THE HOT TUB COVER. Hot tub covers are for insulation purposes and are not designed to support a person or persons. They will break, and you may be charged for replacement. Remember when not using the hot tub to leave the cover on so hot tub will stay warm.

FIRE PIT – There is a small fire pit you are welcome to use, but ONLY in the driveway NOT on the decks or in the yard! Forest fire danger is a major concern so for safety reasons. We “red-neck” it a little and keep the fire pit on the blacktop. There is also an outdoor hose on the corner of the house for completely dousing the fire.

GAS GRILL – Please use grill with caution: it’s a gas grill, shut off the gas when you are done. There is a spare as well, in case you run out just switch the tanks. But please let us know (so we can refill the spare).

GARBAGE – Please place all garbage inside the bear box. Blue bags indicate recycling and white bags are for regular trash. Trash pick-up is on Thursdays. Renters are responsible for properly disposing of any trash that will not fit in the two cans inside the bear box. These boxes are not for show, there are bears in the area; if trash is left out the bears will be attracted to it. If any extra trash is left behind, charges will be deducted from your deposit. Trust us, DO NOT LEAVE any food in cars or outside the house (yes a bear can smell it in your cooler.) Please close your car windows at night...or you might find a raccoon or two napping in the seat they shredded.

COMMUNITY- Please be respectful of our neighbors. This is a quiet mountain community and most of our street are locals and families. They are great neighbors so please treat them with respect.

WRITTEN EXCEPTIONS – Any exceptions to the above policies must be approved in writing in advance. We are very accommodating as long as we talk about exceptions and approve them in advance!
