Hi there! We are a friendly, late 20’s couple, both in the environmental sector. Our clean and spacious one bedroom apartment in the Historic Crown Heights neighborhood of Brooklyn is located on a side street that does not allow through traffic and offers seclusion from street noise. The living room - where you'll be sleeping - can easily accommodate up to three people with a full size futon and comfortable couch. It also boasts original pre-war details, restored mid-century modern furniture, hardwood floors, and two windows looking out into all the trees and quiet backyards of the block. The room is separated by a French door (with privacy blinds). We welcome you to use the full eat-in kitchen and share the hallway closet for storage. Parking is free and abundant most times of the day. The wifi, extra yoga mats, guitar and bikes are yours as well!

Guest Access

Please note that this is a private room with shared kitchen and bathroom.

Interaction with Guests

We work quite a bit during the week, but can always squeeze in mingling time during evenings and weekends. Usually, though, guests prefer their privacy - and that's perfectly fine as well!

The Neighborhood

Crown Heights is an eclectic and diverse neighborhood. Manhattan is only 20 mins away - 4 stops on the A train. There are several cool and cozy cafes with wifi just up the street (PS Designs Cafe, Lula Bagel, Richol Cafe), and restaurants (Basil, Catfish, Peaches Hot House). Franklin Ave is a short walk (and even shorter bike ride) nearby. Local bar options include Franklin Park, Nostrand Avenue Pub, and NoBar. Brower Park and the Brooklyn Children's Museum are right around the corner. Other places of interest include The Brooklyn Museum, Botanical Garden and Grand Army Plaza's bountiful farmers market. Check out https://www.airbnb.com/locations/new-york/crown-heights for more information on the area!

Getting around

Our apartment has quick access to several train lines, including the A (Nostrand Ave), C (Kingston-Throop), 3 (Kingston Ave) and LIRR (Nostrand Ave)

  • It was a lovely, clean and peaceful house. It has a nice air conditioner. There were some useful books, city maps and tour guides. It's around 10 minutes to subway station. It was so pleasant when we arrived home after our long walking.... We liked every thing about this house and it demonstrates our host attitude ;)
Thanks a lot dear Laura and Tyler <3 :*

  • I stayed at Laura's place for three nights with my mother and my sister and we loved it! Her building is historic and beautiful, the apartment is clean and spacious and includes all of the amenities. The room is comfortable and the neighborhood is generally quiet and is really interesting. The apartment is just a short walk to the subway and we had a great experience. Laura is very sweet and accommodating, a really stellar host! I definitely recommend this place!

  • Very Nice, quiet, friendly and helpfull. Takes you about 3/4 hour to go to Manhattan(2 subway-lines!), but Brooklyn is just a few steps away. Thank you Antonella&Ralf

  • Great location with easy access to Manhattan. We saw Laura only once but that was enough to know that she is awesome. We had our own kews, so we could come and go as we pleased. I would go back without hesitation.

  • Laura was very kind to us. Laura's appartment was exactly as we expected. and very convenient (even the so called "tricky shower" turned out very easy to use :)). Laura's place is desirably situated to visit Manhattan (close to 2 subway stations). We had a very good time in NYC. Thanks a lot Laura ! Cyril, Anne-Sophie and Thomas.

  • We really enjoyed our nine day stay in New York City.
Laura's apartment was comfortable and close enough to the subway and Manhattan.
Great hosts. Friendly and willingly prepared to answer our typical tourists' questions. Recommended.

    Merci Laura !!
