The Space

Open space with 1 separate bedroom with queen bed.
The sofa turns into a comfortable queen bed.
All appliances and amenities (including dishwasher, microwave, ventilator, washing machine, dryer, TV + DVD player).
1st floor means not too hot in the summer.
Great insulation from noise and from the cold in the winter.

Very central, walking distance from downtown Montreal and lively streets (St-Denis, St-Laurent, Ste-Catherine, Ontario, Mt-Royal) with shops, restaurants, bars, movie theaters, concert halls, theaters, museums, etc.
In spite of this, my street is entirely residential and thus very quiet.
Perfect if you're in Montreal for the festivals (Just for Laughs, Jazz Fest, Francofolies, etc.)
Right next to Parc Lafontaine (outdoor ice rink in the winter), adjacent to the Gay Village and the Latin Quarter.

Near 3 metro stations (Beaudry, Berri-UQAM, Sherbrooke), walking distance of 5-10 minutes.
Practical city bus lines nearby.
Central bus station at a walking distance of 10 minutes (Coach, Greyhound, etc.).
Free parking spaces on my street, but you'll have to move your car according to which side of the street is available for free parking. It changes every day.

Perfect for couple, family or friends looking to discover what it feels like to live in the heart of Montreal, while going home to a real cosy apartment.

N.B. I'm a light smoker and smoke in the apartment. However, 1 week before any guests come to stay, I refrain from doing so. I've never had bad comments about the smell, but potential guests who are very sensitive to cigarette smoke should be advised.

  • I had a great stay at the apartment of Laurence. It was spotlessly clean and had a very welcoming atmosphere. Laurence was a great communicator. She contacted me prior to the trip and ensured that I had all of the information that I needed. She touched base during my trip to ensure all was in order. The apartment was well located, one block from a charming market and located downtown. I would recommend this place to anyone. I had a great stay there. Thanks Laurence.

  • The place is quite nice. We didn't get a chance to meet Laurence, though she left us with very helpful instructions detailing anything we might need to know. The internet worked very well, as did everything else, save the dishwasher and a couple burners. The bed was a bit hard, but after a couple nights, it was tolerable.

We had friends over for dinner and there was plenty of dishes to prepare everything. We enjoyed looking through all the books together and had some great laughs. I think even the guitar got a little strumming by one of our guests.

Overall, this is a great place to stay, quiet street and easy to get anywhere in town. Laurence was a great host and very communicative throughout our stay.

  • I've been at Laurence's loft for 1 week and I got say, it was great! More than big enough for me and my sister, really cozy and with everything you need, specially the kitchen. I doubt anyone from any part of the world won't find the right tool for a culinary adventure!

We were surprised by the diference of day-by-day schedule there (almost everything on the city close around 6pm to 7pm on mondays and tuesdays), but that was no problem with the mixed collection of movies at our disposal and the musical instruments! Tip: if you have netflix and a notebook or smartphone with HDMI cable, you can enjoy the canadian netflix!

The loft is well designed in every sense (I'm civil engineering and architect, so I know what I'm saying =D), with attention even for the location of one of the heaters at the bathroom in a way that works as a dryer for the used towels.

There are two subway stations close by (10 minutes walk), each one of a diferent line, more than enough to go everywhere. Beyond that, it's close to downtown or, in other words, where most of the action is waiting for you to enjoy!

Laurence was nice by lefting some maps highliting important places close by. We've met her in the last day and before that we've communicated sometimes by airbnb with no delays on answers since she is often online!

TIP: if you love globes and maps like I do, there is a must see shop called "Aux Quatre Points Cardinaux" at 551, Ontario Est, a 7min walk from the loft.

  • We had a very pleasant stay in this cozy loft. The space was clean, tidy, and full of character. The location was also good; a close 10min or so walk to the Metro station. Laurence was also a pleasure to work with. Everything in the description was accurate - I would highly recommend this place.

  • The place is great. The pictures don't do it justice. Didn't get a chance to meet Laurence because we arrived so late, but she left us with very helpful instructions detailing anything we might need to know.

  • We did not get to meet Laurence in person, but she was an excellent host from afar! The apartment was impressively clean, pleasantly decorated, well stocked with necessities, and a nice selection of DVDs to choose from during down time. It was very easy to coordinate access to the place upon arrival. Ample street parking - we never had a problem and it was super well situated in the city, giving us easy access to everything. I would stay here again in a heartbeat and would recommend it to anyone and everyone looking to stay in a very nice place at an affordable price!

    Thanks Laurence!
