Other Things to Note
Long Term Guests:
We love long-term guests! For guests who stay a month or longer, we do not offer breakfast. However, we are happy to share the kitchen with you. Also, each week, I clean the room, change the sheets and wash your towels.
Need a massage while you are visiting? Glenn is a massage therapist. Let us know ahead of time if you want to schedule a massage with him.
We do not allow pets. We do not allow smoking in the house; however, if you are courteous about it we will allow smoking on the deck or during inclement weather on the porch as long as there are no open windows close by. Our quiet hours are from 10pm to 7am so If you are coming in after that time, please be quiet. We welcome you to use the kitchen, porches, deck, and of course your space which is the entire third floor. The second floor is our private space and is off limits to all guests.
I stayed with Suzanne & Glenn just shy of a month and I couldn't have been happier. They were warm and welcoming and were more than willing to give me tips for navigating around the city, places to eat, etc. The space on the third floor is cozy, clean and very warm -- especially for these frigid Pittsburgh winters. Overall I had a wonderful stay at their house and I would recommend it to anyone looking to book a longer stay in Pittsburgh in the future.
Suzanne and Glenn's place should not be overlooked. It is a hidden gem. I adore Pittsburgh because I have family history there so I might be biased.
The room was clean and warm. Pittsburgh experienced a December heatwave so I rarely turned on the heat. They had some nice seasonal decorations around the house. The two steep staircases made it exciting (they have handrails) and also gave me a feeling of privacy by being two floors up from the main floor. Their is semi-private access which felt like a perk as both of us could maintain some privacy.
Suzanne set out a nice breakfast and invited me to make coffee for myself at my convenience. Going above and beyond, they invited me to have dinner with them on my last night. You won't feel like family in a chain hotel folks.
Parking was plentiful and safe. The MLB busway was a few blocks away. Walking to Frick Park was nice.
Sorry folks but I even suggested to them that they increase the price. I hope to come back soon.
Thank you Suzanne, your place is so lovely and comfortable. All her family is helpful and knowledgable about local attractions. It makes our first visit to Pittsburgh even better. They even prepares a breakfast for us. Really nice host, truly recommend!
Suzanne was very nice and more than accommodating. The room was large and private and worked out well for me.
I really enjoyed my stay at Suzanne and Glenn's home. The third floor is comfortable, quiet and clean. Everything I needed was provided, including a very nice breakfast in the morning. I had a relaxing stay and would definitely stay again. Thanks, Suzanne!
Suzanne's place was the perfect getaway: private and cozy, with every detail thoughtfully taken care of. There was a binder with suggestions of things to do in Pittsburgh, a large jar of filtered water with clean glasses left out on top of the mini fridge, and plenty of clean towels, soap, shampoo etc. It was lovely to have a complimentary breakfast each morning and the coffee was fresh and strong! Suzanne is an awesome host.
Glenn and I decided to become airbnb hosts because we had this great guest space which was not often used. We heard about airbnb from Glenn's niece who is also a host, so we decided to give it a try. Not one hour passed after registering our listing, before we had a booking. That was July of 2011 and we have enjoyed hosting folks from all over the world. It's kind of like being ambasadors to Pittsburgh. We absolutely love it as we have met so many wonderful people! I work from home so being an airbnb host is a perfect fit for me. Since 2001 I, have been a Life Coach and I work with my clients to help them grow themselves in multiple ways. I enjoy being outdoors and I spend a lot of time in our local park. Thankfully Pittsburgh has plenty of green space to enjoy. I also love music, dance and I love food! I love all aspects of food - growing it, cooking it, and gathering people around my table to eat it. Glenn and I shifted from vegetarian to vegan a few years ago and we are having fun expanding our adventures with food. I have two grown children and we have two granddaughters, whom we do not see nearly enough. Glenn is a politics and history officionado. He also enjoys being outdoors, dance and gardening. For work Glenn is a Physical Therapy Assistant and a Massage Therapist. He has been in the healing arts since the early 1990's. He is very civic-minded and active especially regarding local politics. We are both founding board members of our community garden, where Glenn still serves. When guests are interested, he loves to give them a tour of our neighborhood and garden.
