Funky, clean, quiet artist's house in the heart of Silverlake's Sunset Junction, LA's best walking neighborhood.

The Space

You can NOT get closer to the tons of hip coffee shops, bars, restaurants, vintage stores, nightclubs and a farmers market twice a week. On our cul de sac you'll be secluded from the street noise and hubub along Sunset blvd.

Interaction with Guests

I like guests to have a great visit and feel at home as much as possible. I go out to a lot of visual art and dance related events in Los Angeles, and will gladly share any of these events with you if you're interested. I keep a (website hidden) calendar of recommended events I can share with guests, and a list of local recommendations.
A small dog lives in the house with me when I am not traveling, so if you are severely dog allergic, please be aware of this.

  • Veronique's cottage is fantastic! Perfect for two people to stay in comfortably. Super close to all the good things about Silverlake. What we liked:
    1. The vintage gas stove.
    2. Nice outdoor area's to chill.
    3. Parking is easy along the street.
    4. Super close to all the good food and coffee Silverlake is famous for.
    5. Veronique has decorated the place in a laidback homely fashion. Nice.

Our only criticism is that while the cottage was tidy it didn't feel super clean. This would be cool if we weren't charged a cleaning fee but we felt like it could do with a bit of a spring clean. This would make it 5 stars all the way.

Thanks again Veronique. We'd come back again for sure.

    Jen.

  • We had a last minute trip to LA but Vernoqiue responeded immediately so everything worked out perfectly! Check in was very easy although super late.. But on the table was a very friendly welcome letter with a bottle of red wine waiting for us!!! Super nice!
Right the next morning we had a few questions and she called immediately to give directions and very useful tips!
The garden is perfect since it is always warm in LA and it is nice to be able to step out and relax in the sun...
The location is perfect and you can walk to nice cafes and a supermarket! There is a farmes market just 5 min away every Saturday, we loved going there...The house is very arty which we loved! There are many many beautiful little details in the house, it is very fund t stay there and we would definetely recommend staying there!!!

  • Our stay at Veronique's cottage was perfect!
The space itself was very cozy and comfortable. We also really enjoyed sitting out in the private front yard under a canopy of trees,
and then walking up a short flight of stairs to the heart of Silverlake!
Veronique also supplied us witch coffee/tea and breakfast snacks, which we really appreciated- as it made our stay even more convenient.
I would definitely stay here again! Thank you Veronique!

About
I am a sculptor, graphic designer, pet portrait artist and teacher, originally from Boston. I moved to LA to get my MFA at UCLA and have been living in my dreamhouse in Silver Lake since 2012. I love living in Silver Lake because the walk-ability reminds me of my east-coast roots. There is an endless variety of delicious vegan food, $5 yoga, fantastic neighbors, its culturally diverse and gay-friendly. I rent out my house as a shared space (shared with me and my pup rufus) or as a private rental I'm very interested in alternative histories and sites in Los Angeles, so if you're looking for off-the-beaten-track tourist information, I am excited to share my knowledge. I also can point you in the right direction if you're looking for more typical tourist information, or recommendations on where to eat, get coffee, surf, bike, go camping, have a fire on the beach, etc. I go out to art shows, performances, music, gay and lesbian happenings, (dyke day LA!) and other events all week long and have tons of recommendations. I keep an online calendar of local art events that I share with my guests if they are interested!
