About This Listing
Nestled closely between Prescott's historic downtown square & PV entertainment district is this very unique and modern home which sits above the famous Rose Creek. Only a 5-15min drive to everything Prescott and Prescott Valley have to offer: shopping, movies, biking, hiking, rock climbing, kayaking, lakes, restaurants and more!
Surely to be one of the most unique homes you've stayed in and a step up from any hotel! Practically brand-new and has only been lived in part-time since earlier this year. The entire home sits above a seasonal stream which is known to be full of gold! Wake up in the mornings and enjoy the large walk-out deck with views of the creek, lush vegetation and hopefully some wildlife! 900 sq ft of livable space inside with 2 separate bedrooms each with a queen bed. You'll sleep like a baby on our memory foam mattresses with high thread count Egyptian cotton sheets and variety of memory foam and down pillows. Leather futon in living room folds out to a firm (but comfortable) queen size bed to accommodate more guests!
Guests have full access to the home and it's amenities including fast 50mbps wireless Internet, full kitchen, washer/dryer, board games, and a 50" plasma TV with Netflix streaming and other apps/games. A hair dryer, clothes iron and full-size ironing board are also available for use.
Interaction with Guests
You will be given a code to unlock the front door. I can be reached by text, phone call or email if needed, otherwise I will stay completely out of your hair :)
Once you arrive and get settled in you will feel like you've been transported into a cabin in the woods! There are neighboring homes but we've never experienced an issue with noise or lack of privacy; neither have our guests. The home does not back up to the highway and is not on a through street so guests should not worry about traffic or road noise. Check Maps and Street View for a closer look.
Since the home is off Highway 69, it makes it extremely quick and easy to get in and out of as you explore Prescott and adjacent areas. There are grocery stores, restaurants, shopping and a movie theater literally 5 minutes away. You can be to one of 3 different lakes in 10-15 minutes. Downtown Prescott and Whiskey Row are only a 15 minute drive!

Other Things to Note
** Disclaimer: Since the home sits so close to the creek, a standard toilet and septic tank system was not an option. We opted for a high-end composting toilet. This is a $2,000 model that is electric and completely odorless! None of our guests have had any issues with it (just read some of the reviews below).
There is currently a 3-night minimum. If you are looking for a 1 or 2 night stay, feel free to message us; however, your request will likely be denied.
Please send a message prior to booking and let us know the reason for your stay, exactly how many people will be arriving and how many vehicles will need parking space. This is very important to allow us to determine if our home is a good fit for you.
Absolutely no loud music or outside parties. Our goal here is to provide an opportunity for visitors to stay in a unique and beautiful home with great amenities. We are only interested in hosting clean and quiet guests who are looking for relaxation.

Great place to getaway and experience the beauty of the area. James was a great host, super organised and very helpful with anything we needed. Would recommend this place and stay again. :)
This was my first time using Airbnb. Not knowing how this experience was going to turn out, I was very skeptical. I was looking for a weekend getaway within a short driving distance from Phoenix, and I discovered James' property in Prescott. Compared to others in the area, the photos and description James used seemed to be exactly what I was looking for. Boy, was I right!! James made this experience very easy, from the keyless access to the property all the way to an easy checklist for closing down when we left. We had a late arrival, and James was available, even at night.
As a host, James couldn't have been more accommodating. As a weekend getaway retreat, I can't recommend his property enough. The tranquil setting, the bubbling creek below the balcony, the comfortable beds and Egyptian cotton linens, the fully stocked kitchen with everything you could possibly need to cook a meal...I could go on for days. We were very impressed.
In short, I highly recommend a stay to James' amazing home in Prescott. Should I be visiting the area again, I will be sure to book with him.
Finally, the one part that made me nervous was the composting toilet. For those of you (like me) who have never used one before, don't be afraid. Actually, after using it the first time, it's kind of neat. There is no odor...none. Seriously. I couldn't believe it. It's very simple to use, and it's great for the environment. So please, don't let this one thing steer you away from this property.
James made my first experience with Airbnb very positive. Thank you for taking the time to read this.
When we take get away trips each has specific "themes", certain experiences we'd like to feel, or be in. Prescott represented "Escape & Rest". After viewing James's home on Airbnb and discussing how we wanted to spend our few days off we felt we had found the perfect place. The big question is always at the point of arrival… Do the photos match the reality? We opened the door it felt like we were in the movie "Big Fish" were reality is like a dream --- come true. Spacious, full of light, extremely clean, modern without fashion design discomfort, all the comforts of home, and a host that makes sure you arrive with ease, feel at ease and makes everything easy. James was kind of like the wizard of Oz, the man behind the curtain that you never see. We never saw him; an amazingly cool trait to have when your guests just want to get away from people. Don't get me wrong, he was available, just by text, email and all the other modern modes that happen quickly without disturbing your "Zen-like" mood. We drank coffee on the porch, ate breakfast at the cool breakfast table, drank white wine, watched movies at will (with Netflix at the end of our remote), made fantastic dinners, and sipped Courvoisier, under a throw blanket late at night. We stayed for 2 days and never left the house. So... perspective renters, the photos most certainly became reality, and that reality an awesome experience. Our only disappointment - that we didn't stay longer!
My brother, sister, and I stayed at James' vacation house for 4 nights. Our experience was excellent. The modern accommodations were very clean and highly functional. Everything was as advertised and there were no negative surprises. The location is very convenient to Prescott and Prescott Valley, with many shopping and restaurant options within a few minutes drive. The surroundings were peaceful and quiet, and the neighbors were friendly. The composting toilet worked as advertised, no smell or problems at all. James responded very quickly to a couple of questions we had, and was very responsive throughout, from booking to checkout. We would definitely stay here again.
The house was immaculate. They left us wine, cold water and other beverages. The towels, linens and soap were of nice quality. The neighborhood looked sketchy but was not problematic. For us, the location was convenient. The stream was attractive and varied depending on the amount of rain. We had to learn to use the composting toilet but are glad that the stream was protected from any possible septic issues. Netflix worked withour a hitch. It was a simple and relaxing spot for us with our daughter.
About the Host, James
Hi, welcome to Airbnb! I'm no stranger to renting out beautiful homes and hosting guests. I first used Airbnb to rent out a cabin in northern Arizona and ever since then I was hooked by the experience and eventually wanted to become a Airbnb host myself. I have a passion for technology and photography and enjoy incorporating both into things that I do. Some of my other hobbies include traveling (my most recent trek was a 4 day hike along the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu in Peru), mountain biking, and anything that produces a adrenaline rush (bungee jumping, sky diving, rafting, etc). I do my very best to make sure guests have a true representation of the home before booking so there are no surprises. I try to include any amenities that I feel will make stays more enjoyable (coffee maker, blow dryer, Netflix, fast wifi Internet). I also make sure that my responses to inquiries are very concise and prompt. Welcome again and don't hesitate to send me a message if you have any questions about myself, my property or the Airbnb experience in general. Thanks!
