Other Things to Note
Our home is is so sweet. We offer you, our guests, a sense of belonging and peace, simplicity and ease. For those of you interested in energy and body work, I am a certified foot Reflexologist, and Russell is a licensed massage therapist, specializing in light and sound therapies. KITTY (see below) is also a healer, specializing in love.
Queen Kitty Lucille does NOT go in the guest room, in case of allergies. FYI, she eats only raw meat, which leaves her allergen-free. Cats who eat kibble and processed canned foods have a hard time with digestion, it stresses their systems and can cause the conditions which allergy-sufferers react to.
My friends and guests who have allergies swear that they DO NOT have symptoms in my home. (See reviews from Cassandra and also from Oliver Hess). Kitty is a very kind and gracious being. She is not used to dogs. However, if your dog is mellow, and respectful, cat-friendly and preferably small, then your good dog would be welcome.
To have a good time while YOU are here.
To be comfortable and at rest. To be respectful of the space. To be aware of water conservation and energy consumption. And to feel at home.
Grace has created a beautiful home full of welcoming energy and love. While Unfortunately I did not get to meet Grace, Russ was there are was a pleasure to be around. He not only engaged us in insightful intellectual dialogue but he also told us health restaurants to visit off the beaten path. Russ was also so kind as to share his light/sound healings with us. Next time I return to Santa fe, I will definitely make my way back to this beautiful and peaceful home.
The neighborhood is charming, quaint Santa Fe. A very clean and beautiful, comfortably decorated home made us feel so relaxed after our long drive. As we arrived before our host got home the little welcoming notes were nice and we felt expected. Water was waiting in the carafe and spaces cleared for our things. Beautiful gardens were so pleasant that I sat out there every morning for breakfast. I felt just like I was staying in a good friends home-very comfortable. The location was about a 15 minute walk to the plaza which was very convenient.
We only had a short visit but everything was perfect. Great location (20 min walk to Plaza along the river trail and ten min walk to neighborhood restaurant with delicious New Mexican food. The room was clean and comfortable. Our host made us feel welcome comfortable. Would definitely stay here again on our next visit to Santa Fe.
I drove up the lane and saw a lovely gate with flowers trailing along the fence...I walked in and met Russ and Lucy the cat, was shown to my peaceful room bordering the zen garden in the back...I took a walk across the lane along the river and enjoyed the peaceful evening with other neighborhood residents then drove 5 minutes to the food coop nearby for dinner. It was quiet and peaceful and beautiful
Everything about my experience with this host was positive and welcoming. Kind communication and support for my sabbatical was offered on the day I made my reservation and at appropriate intervals leading up to my actual stay in Santa Fe. Notably, Grace Elena took extra steps because she was away from the host site (her home) due to the serious illness of a parent. Her kindness and interest in providing a quality experience was generous and beyond what I would have expected in light of her personal situation. Her name "Grace" sums it all up!
Grace was unexpectedly out of town during our two night stay. Russell was a great host and the house was very comfortable and charming. We did not need a car as the location was close to coffee shops and the co-op and a pleasant 15 minute walk to the plaza. The neighborhood was very quiet, we felt welcome and very much at home.
Grace's home is beautiful and cozy. The room has a very comfortable bed and a futon to sit on while journaling or playing with your iPad. Russ was the most wonderful host. Kitty, the kitty, is an adorable conversationalist. What a lovely time I spent there!
About the Host, Grace Elena
Hello there, this is Grace.
I have lived in Santa Fe for 30 years and still love it here. Originally from California, I moved here in the early 80's with my one year old daughter. The mountains are my first love, and sitting by a mountain stream or sitting IN a natural hot springs pool is my idea of Heaven on Earth. At this writing, the only other place I would consider living would be Colorado. (And, of course, there's always my dream of a gas efficient RV.)
My interests are varied and simple.
'My Goods'' include good food, good company, good friends (old and new), an occasional glass of good red wine, a good movie, nature (which is all around us, here in Santa Fe), music on the plaza in the summertime, drumming and playing my flute, rainstorms and snowstorms, which I always consider 'good weather' since we are in the Southwest. I enjoy the Opera, (especially Sunday nights when the stars sing at a local piano bar), a sunset, being spontaneous, creating peace and comfort and sanctuary in my heart and in my home, organizing and feng shui (I was a professional organizer for many years), watching my daughter evolve, being an usher at The Lensic Performing Arts Center, having fun and remembering to care for our beloved planet. The simple, rich moments of life that depend only on appreciation.
That's what it's all about.
I am a certified foot Reflexologist and offer sessions in my home...
75 minutes of pure therapeutic heaven.
I enjoy my solitude and respect everyone's privacy, and ask for the same.
I also enjoy the company and offer my guests EASE and COMFORT and a big joyous WELCOME!
Your well-mannered GOOD DOG is welcome if he is VERY respectful of cats!
Hope to see you soon.
