We had a great stay at Lava House Hale, a lovely rainforest retreat. The Hale is a spacious round building, thoughtfully designed, built and detailed with great respect for the environment. It was immaculately clean, comfortable and well appointed. We slept well in the open air amid the sounds of the rainforest. We did not meet Diane, but Eric was extremely welcoming and helpful.

The Lave Hale is a simply beautiful and magical place. We only had two days here and wished we had booked a week. Eric and his wife were amazing and warm hosts who greeted us and gave us a tour and answered all our questions. The Hale itself is a stunning property and all the amenities of the outdoor shower and outdoor bathroom and beautiful landscape with ample privacy made us feel as though we were in a fairytale! And all sustainable run with solar power to boot! Everything we needed and more....except wifi but that's probably the point ;). And the bed is incredibly comfortable!! Do you yourself a favor and spend quite a few days here with at least one to just stay and soak of the goodness of being here. We will return for sure! Many thanks!

This place is perfect if you love being out in nature. I had the great fortune of staying during a full moon. The night time was pure magic. I loved wandering around outside in the moonlight surrounded by the jungle sounds. I also enjoyed staying in a place that is off the grid and learning how everything works. It is well maintained and exceptionally clean! Eric and Diane are great hosts. I happened to be traveling alone and Diane went out of her way to make me feel comfortable and safe, sharing tips on how to get around the area as well as explaining what all the jungle sounds were. I am grateful to have had the opportunity to stay in such a unique and amazing place. Highly recommend!

This place is phenomenal. It's secluded back in the jungle, on a beautiful piece of land with horses, dogs, and frogs that chirp at night to create a peaceful atmosphere. The outdoor shower was my favorite thing. You can look up at the stars at night or at the sun and palm trees in the morning. I wish this were my own apartment back home I loved it so much! Would definitely come again.
