Do as you please, but be respectful, that's all we ask.
The best airbnb I've found so far. Great for travellers looking for a bit of solitude. The photos speak for themselves. I look forward to coming back one day.
Mornings were spent down at the tidal pools snorkeling and evenings at the thermal pool both a 5 minute drive away. Very peaceful and relaxing.
Eric ans Diane's place is simply a little peace of paradise on earth ! In addition Eric and Diane are very kind and we received a very warm welcome ! The only regret is not to have stayed longer ! We would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Big Island.
The town of Pāhoa was absolutely beautiful and serene. We knew from the listing that this was where we wanted to have our elopement wedding and a year later, we were not disappointed at all. Lava Rock Hale is very well-maintained, clean, and surrounded by all the nature that Hawaii offers from laval rocks, stunning beaches, diverse range of plants and wildlife and extremely friendly locals.
Eric and Diane were extremely prompt in their communication and welcomed us at the agreed time of arrival. They gave clear directions on how to make use of the space and the utilities, as well as gave us a basket of hand-picked mangos from their property. Throughout our stay, they were very accommodating with our needs, like lending us their tools to take the roof off our Jeep. They also have two very old and wise horses and two dogs on the property, whom we had the pleasure of meeting. Lava Rock Hale will always have a special place in our hearts as the perfect place to make lifelong commitment and create romantic memories.
Is there anything more cool than staying in hale made from Lava on Big Island? I was greeted by Eric who gave me a tour around property which is very nice and quiet. At the same time its just few miles to city and attractions. There are all amenities that you may need during stay and some interesting books about islands and volcano. I've spent almost a month in ten places on three different Hawaii islands and I believe that this place has best price value ratio.
Beautiful place. Would recommend those who look an alternative vacation.
1) I thought it would be difficult to find the Hale, but the directions were perfect! No problems finding the place at all. 2) I didn't expect the Hale to be like the pictures, but it was even better! My sister and I were amazed at how wonderful and complete a round room could be. Eric gave us an in-service on the stove; fridge and shower (which had flowers growing in it - how great is that!) and everything worked so simply. Everything we needed was there - except food. 3) With just the frogs and birds as back ground music, it was absolutely quiet and peaceful! 4) The best snorkeling I did on the island is just down the road! 5) Bugs - there were none. 6) Made the big mistake of only booking 2 nights!
