We had the pleasure and privilege of staying at this charming little house in paradise, and we absolutely loved it! The house is beautifully decorated with Diane's artwork and is equipped with modern amenities, such as a kitchen sink, stove, fridge and water dispenser. At night we fell asleep to the singing of coqui frogs and woke up to chirping birds. And we loved showering outside under the morning sun! Eric and Diane are a warm, delightful couple, who made sure we felt comfortable. We highly recommend their place and would stay here again in a heartbeat!

We loved the hale - Eric and Diane were gracious hosts, the house and grounds were beautiful, if you're looking for a unique off the grid place this is it!!! Honest and beautiful, exactly as advertised and more.

Eric's place is absolutely incredible, one of the most amazing places I've ever stayed in. The hale is a lovely building with a really comfortable bed. It was a really unique experience being 'off grid' and we loved using the outdoor shower, which works extremely well :) The hale is in a very secluded location and we loved the peace and quiet and the opportunity to explore the land, and meet the animals, that the property's on. The hale is only a short drive from Pahoa - a town with ample shops and restaurants, and close to some great beaches and attractions. Eric and his wife Diane were extremely kind and friendly, and gave us such a warm welcome and made us feel like family when we arrived :)

Our stay at the lava rock hale was the highlight of our trip. I think one of the best things about Air bnb is that you get to stay places where they haven't built hotels and resorts. Staying at the Lava Rock Hale you get a glimpse into the private paradises down Hawaii's back roads. It is much more than a place to just sleep at night, it is an enjoyable place to relax too. The house itself is a great design and they have thought of everything that you might need. I would highly recommend it and hope to return!

The Lava Rock Hale, the hosts, the surroundings - everything is just perfect! This mystic place is the perfect place for relaxation... stay there at least for four nights... better longer!! It's perfect for discovering the magical Puna Coast, the lava flow (at the moment), the Volcano National Park (1h) or even Mauna Kea. We stayed there for de 2nd time, but not for the last time.

I am a carpenter/painter, enjoy working outdoors. My Wife is an artist and massage therapist. We both love animals.
