My place is close to Whiritoa beach (2min walk), Beach cafe/dairy (5min walk), Surf club (2min walk), Safe lagoon (5min walk), Whangamata beach (15min drive), Waihi (15min drive), Tauranga (1hr drive), Hot Water Beach (1hr drive), Cathedral Cove (1hr drive).
You’ll love my place because it is a unique style timber chalet, open plan with mezzanine and separate smaller chalet. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, families (with kids), and big groups. Sorry no pets.
NO WIFI sorry!

The space
Our bach (kiwi beach home) is a unique style timber chalet, open plan with mezzanine. Only just built in 2015. On the lower level there is a queen bed, bathroom, kitchen, small laundry and living area. On the mezzanine level there is a queen bed, and two chairs which fold-down to single bed with foam mattresses. We also have a smaller separate chalet with a queen bed only inside. There is a separate outside utility with a shower and toilet on the property also with an outdoor shower. There is also space for tents on the lawn, and if needed there are 2x single mattresses. The lounge suite is suitable for outdoor use, so feel free to pull this onto the deck between the chalets during the day to relax in the sun or in the shade of the sail. The place is great for intimate social gatherings and outdoor entertaining rather than large parties.

Guest access
You will have full access inside the large chalet, small chalet, and the outside utility. You will also have access to the locked storage area beneath the main chalet which holds the bikes and kayak for you to use at your leisure. The life jackets are in outside utility shed. Please be safe .

Other things to note
Whiritoa is a small seaside community that has one store only so you may wish to collect supplies from one of the larger neighbouring towns such as Waihi or Whangamata on your way (both 15min drive from Whiritoa). The Beach store provides basics such as bread, milk, beer, ice-cream, and also provides takeaways (fish and chips) and a cafe menu during summer months.
At times Whiritoa surf is quite large so you may prefer to swim in the lagoon at the northern end of the beach which is safer for children. There is a surf life saving programme over the Christmas, New Years break.
Patrolling of Whiritoa Beach is limited off season so we would like to remind everyone visiting Whiritoa during the off season to stay safe, never swim alone, know your limits, don’t overestimate your ability and if in doubt, stay out.
Please also help protect the sand dunes by staying on marked pathways :)

Location

Whiritoa, Waikato, New Zealand

Whiritoa is a small beach community with only a few permanent residents throughout the year. The population booms around Christmas and New Years, with lots of families in the area. There are a few permanent residents near our property who keep a good eye on the chalets.

Hi I am Emily (26y) and my partner is Jono (30y) :) We are keen travellers from New Zealand, looking to see as much of the world as we can. I am a registered nurse and Jono is a mechanical engineer. We are social and love to meet new people and tackle new adventures. We both love outdoor activities and anything to do with nature. We enjoy the occasional drink but aren't too rowdy and both non-smokers. We both love eating and trying new dining experiences! I grew up in a small town on the Coromandel Peninsula of New Zealand, and have been living in Auckland for 7 years. My listing for the Beach Chalets is my family bach (beach house) and is managed primarily by my mother Keryn; however, I will be available to answer any questions, feel free to contact me :)
