The space
This adorable West Salem 1925 Arts and Crafts bungalow, with pretty front porch and swing, very comfortably accommodates four people. The stylish interior of the house, which was designed by a local architect, and completely remodeled in 2016, includes an elegant entrance hall, and two charming bedrooms both with en suite bathrooms featuring lovely, refreshing rainfall showers. A stunning, huge, gourmet chef's kitchen, with high end stainless steel appliances and leathered granite countertops, adjoins the spacious dining room. A delightful pass-through leads from this room through to the comfortable, stylish living room featuring a lovely, original fireplace with remote controlled gas logs, very welcome on a cool day. Gorgeous original 9 foot high bead board ceilings, architectural moldings, fireplaces, original doors, and refinished wood floors are found throughout the house. New double pane sash windows with screens have been fitted with cordless plantation blinds. This home is tastefully decorated with eclectic art and many individual stylish touches. In addition there is a delightful rear enclosed porch, the perfect spot for morning coffee, with screened sliding door leading to the deck. The deck contains two Adirondack chairs, small table and benches, Weber charcoal grill, and leads to the pretty, newly landscaped, privacy fenced garden. Laundry facilities are to be found in their own little room off the rear porch room. Off street parking for up to three cars is to the left of the house as you face it. Graco Pack n Play crib, crib mattress and a highchair should be available if requested.
My other lovely properties, "Modern, Stylish ..." 2 bed/1.5 bath, and “Charming, Chic ...” 3 bed/1 bath both in West Salem are within 5 minutes easy walk of this house so would be ideal for larger groups!
I am happy to be able to share my house with Airbnb guests who like to travel with their dogs (see "Other Things to Note" below for details of fee and policies).

Where you’ll be

Winston-Salem, North Carolina, United States

The historic residential West Salem neighborhood of Winston-Salem is 1.5 miles south of downtown. It is immediately adjacent and walkable to Old Salem, very close to two parks, one of which offers free tennis courts, the other an enclosed dog park. In the summer the neighborhood is full of blossoming crape myrtle trees. UNC School of the Arts is approximately one mile away from my home.

Originally from the UK, lovely Winston-Salem is now my home. I continually enjoy exploring this cool city from the history in Old Salem (which reminds me of an English country village) to the arts - great theaters, galleries, UNCSA and Reynolda House, and wonderful restaurants, bakeries and breweries catering for all tastes. I have two small rescue dogs and walking them gives me time to admire the beautiful trees, flowers and countryside. In addition, I enjoy trips to wineries, state parks, and mountains all within a couple of hours. I have one son who graduated from NC State in Raleigh, am an avid walker, reader, movie goer, and relish good food! I had a lot of fun completely remodeling and decorating my houses, and thoroughly enjoy being an Airbnb host. I have travelled quite widely to a lot of North America, Europe, Africa and Japan and would love to do more when time allows. I am a “hands off” host which may mean that you won’t meet me, but you will feel the warmth of my welcome as soon as you enter any of my homes. Plus I live very close by and can easily be reached by text or phone.
