Private room in a 3BR/2.5BA condo in East Liberty. Close to Carnegie Mellon University (owner is a student), Pitt, Chatham, Bakery Square, Hospitals, Shadyside, Highland Park and Downtown. Walking distance to great restaurants and shopping.
This is a unique condo because of its history. The previous owners did an excellent job of updating the interior while preserving the exposed brick and historic exterior.
Guests will have access to the bedroom and private bathroom. The bedroom has a double bed and access to a closet. The private bathroom is a few steps down the hall and has a shower and bathtub. Guests are also welcome to use the open concept main floor (living room/dining room/kitchen/half bath).
We can interact as much or as little as you like. I'm a runner, soccer player, shopper, yogi, and student and my live-in boyfriend is into biking, cars, and golf. We both love to eat and do things around the East End. If any of that interests you, we would be glad to show you around!
If you're thinking about visiting, you're probably well-aware of the Pittsburgh hype. East Liberty, in particular, is now the place for some of the best shopping and dining in the city.

Kathleen was cheerful and hospitable. Her place was close to our daughter's house, which was perfect. The apartment is beautifully decorated and quiet. The cats were fun, with one taking its place between us on the bed while we read! We had a great time. Thanks Kathleen for hosting us in your lovely accommodations. Our cat is jealous.
Hosts took us in at the last minute, and their watchful eye saved us a parking ticket. The cats are adorable! A spacious apartment with all the expected amenities.
Had a lovely time at Kathleen's. Absolutely meticulous place in an interesting neighborhood. Try Paris 66 for some very good French cuisine at reasonable prices. Enjoyed our talk -- fascinating story about the innovative neighborhood organization that renovated her space! We want to come back to Pittsburgh just to catch up some day!!
We had a wonderful stay at Kathleen's house. The room was clean and comfortable. This was our first stay with air b&b so I wasn't' sure if it would be "weird" to stay in someone's home, but Kathleen made us feel very at ease! We would stay there again!
Kathleen and Jon were great host. Very nice room, great location. Very clean. Would definitively stay with them again. Thank You.
We booked the room in the morning and stayed just for one night, but we really appreciated our stay.
Kathleen wasn't there when we arrived but she let us the keys in a safe place. She is really welcoming and can help you to find good things to do in Pittsburgh.
By the way, the place is really nice and close to some good restaurants. You can book!
Kathleen is a great host. We broke down on the way to Pittsburgh and she was very understanding about the situation and accomodating when we had to delay our arrival until the next day. Additionally, her home is beautiful. I recommend Kathleen as a host.
Kathleen was such a gracious host and welcomes you as if you've been friends for years. Both she and Jonathon have a lovely home that's, at most, 15 minutes to all PBH destinations. The room is suitable for the price. The home is equipped with wifi but no TV in this particular room - you are certainly welcome to all the common space in the house, including the living room to catch up on the news. You can come and go as you please, they are engaging or will certainly respect your privacy. I would certainly re-book should I visit Pittsburgh (website hidden) - Their kitties are fun, sweet & friendly - and you will ADORE them if you are a cat lover.
As long as you're ok with cats around, definitely recommend. Beautiful apartment, clean, good location, a and friendly host!
I loved meeting and staying with Kathleen! Her 2 story apartment is basically in this huge beautiful old house that has been converted into ultra modern condos. Really cool house, street and neighborhood! This place is extremely clean, beautifully decorated and like I said - ultra modern. It's gorgeous actually! The downstairs level is a big open kitchen, dining area and living room, the bedrooms are upstairs. The room is cozy and clean and the bed is perfectly comfortable. The bathroom is down the hall from your room and is also very clean and modern. I was a little worried at first about disturbing her due to the (beautiful) hardwood floors throughout and her bedroom sharing the wall with mine but she assured me not to worry about coming in late, making noise, and turning the lights on so I tried to relax about it and it ended up being totally fine. Kathleen couldn't have been any nicer. She was extremely helpful the entire time and made me feel at home and welcome. If you don't know your way around Pittsburgh (like I did not) this place is in the very nice suburban neighborhood called East Liberty - just a short walk from Whole Foods, Target, CVS and several restaurants and bars. It's a little bit off the beaten path from downtown (which isn't where you will really want to spend much time anyway) but it's a lovely area to stay in. I stumbled across an awesome outdoor farmers market right around the corner on a Monday afternoon which I loved!! I really enjoyed walking around the neighborhood in general - Kathleen recommended Noodlehead nearby which was awesome and I also had a great experience at BRGR when my phone died and the staff came to my rescue. The people around here are some of the nicest I have ever met in all my travels. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. If I could I'd just move in.. it was that nice!
