Private room in a 3BR/2.5BA condo in East Liberty. Close to Carnegie Mellon University (owner is a student), Pitt, Chatham, Bakery Square, Hospitals, Shadyside, Highland Park and Downtown. Walking distance to great restaurants and shopping.
This is a unique condo because of its history. The previous owners did an excellent job of updating the interior while preserving the exposed brick and historic exterior.
Guests will have access to the bedroom and private bathroom. The bedroom has a double bed and access to a closet. The private bathroom is a few steps down the hall and has a shower and bathtub. Guests are also welcome to use the open concept main floor (living room/dining room/kitchen/half bath).
Interaction with Guests
We can interact as much or as little as you like. I'm a runner, soccer player, shopper, yogi, and student and my live-in boyfriend is into biking, cars, and golf. We both love to eat and do things around the East End. If any of that interests you, we would be glad to show you around!
If you're thinking about visiting, you're probably well-aware of the Pittsburgh hype. East Liberty, in particular, is now the place for some of the best shopping and dining in the city.

Kathleen and Jonathan were very nice hosts. Unfortunately, my brother and I did not get to spend much time with them, but we did share a good conversation and they gave us lots of advice on where to go. They pointed us towards some great bars and an awesome burger place. Their place is really cool and unique looking from the outside. Inside, it's really neat and well decorated. The cats are cool too :)
Kathleen actually was away for the weekend dirk gout stay, so we never met her but we did meet her boyfriend Jonathan, who greeted us upon arrival and helped us get set-up quickly (and despite the fact that we arrived early than expected). After the first night, we didn't see either of them but we continued to do our own thing as well, so it worked out perfectly. The listing was just as described. The apartment is nice and cozy, the bedroom suited my friend and I well, and the cats were definitely friendly! There were recommendations of places to visit in a binder on the table, along with other maps, travel guides, etc. Jonathan also gave us some ideas of places to go. We went to nearby Union Pig and Chicken (one night for cocktails upstairs and own time for dinner) and both were great. East Liberty was a nice neighborhood with easy access to other areas of Pittsburgh. We had our car and found the neighborhood and city in general to be easy to navigate. The street in front of the house provided easy parking options. We would definitely recommend staying in this area and would stay with Kathleen again!
We had a fantastic weekend getaway in this charming abode! The room is comfy, clean, and fresh towels were given on arrival. Area is great and easy to get around too. Kathleen and Jonathan are wonderful hosts and made us feel very welcome.
Thanks for a super time, we would definitely stay here again.
Kathleen was a great host. She invited me to join her to dinner at her friend's place. The bedroom was nice and clean with lots of comfortable pillows. The private bathroom was nice and Kathleen laid out towels for me, helping me to feel welcome. The location was walking distance to Bakery Square as well as Penn Ave and Liberty which were fun to walk around, full of shops and places to eat. Her cats were sweet too, one cuddled up with me for the night. The other one was pretty shy. Overall a great stay in East Liberty!
Had a great three night stay here. Quiet and comfortable layout with a super convenient location for someone who wants to see all parts of the city. Cats are super cool. Beautiful and modern and relaxing place all around
Kathleen and I had been texting throughout the day to coordinate our arrival. She was just coming out the door to wait for us as we arrived a little bit early. Her house is spacious and well thought out for having guests stay over. She introduced us to the cats and showed us up to our room and guest bathroom. The room had a carafe of water and a binder with the house rules, Wi-Fi password and suggestions for local eateries and shopping, as well as info on public transportation. The area is easily walkable and has everything nearby that you would want for a short stay. We enjoyed chatting with Kathleen about the area and our trip. We definitely recommend this as a place to stay in Pittsburgh.
I'm from Peters Township (outside of Pittsburgh), but love living in the East End. I work as Financial Analyst and I'm going to Carnegie Mellon for my MBA at night. I like to run, play soccer, shop, cook and do yoga.
