Description

Copper Beech farm is a family run dairy farm set in a peaceful rural setting, close to the bustling town of Kinsale. "The Barn" and "The Loft" are 19th Century stone barns which have been beautifully restored and converted into self contained holiday cottages. Many of the original features have been retained i.e Exposed stone walls, Timber panelled ceilings and Wooden floors.

All modern conveniences have been fitted to ensure our guests have all the comforts of home. Children are especially welcome and will enjoy the fresh air, freedom and space that a farming environment has to offer, and a safe children's playground will keep them busy for hours. Outdoors there are large mature gardens with lawns, shrubs and trees. There is ample parking for cars.

Your hosts, Michael & Eileen Sheehan are always on hand to assist you in any way possible, so if it's a short stay in the countryside visiting the old world town of Kinsale or a longer holiday exploring wonderful West Cork, you will find our location and facilities ideal for a truly enjoyable holiday.

I can recommend for everybody who would like to have a quite time from the city Center (only 20 minutes by car) we had 1 of the best time there. The playground is perfect and safe for the kids. Micheal and Eileen is very good host. They are helpful and kind. The farm life is very interesting. The house is beautiful! We would like to go back again.

This was without a doubt one of most memorable trips as a family - two adults, one four year old, one infant - we have ever taken. Not only was the house ("The Barn") amazing, but Michael and Eileen were fantastic hosts. We arrived very, very late and despite that we still had fresh milk and scones waiting for us. Michael gave us plenty of information about the local area - a very rural, pleasant section of County Cork right by Cork City and Kinsale - but more importantly gave our son the opportunity to see cows being milked and even helped collect chicken eggs. The house has all the amenities you would need, and we were able to cook a few meals for ourselves. The house and location provided the rest and relaxation (and space!) for my wife and I, as well as plenty of fun opportunities for our son. I think we would go out of our way to stay here again if given a chance.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 nights accommodation at Copper Beech Farm. The Barn was roomy, comfortable and inviting- just as listed. Micheal was very welcoming (we didnt get to meet Eileen). Michael was happy for us to look around the farm and answer all our questions about farming matters. Perfect location for us to go our exploring during the day and then come back and prepare our own evening meals. Would definitely stay again if we were holidaying in the area. Thanks heaps Michael and Eileen

We had a fantastic short break. Michael and Eileen were great and have provided a very cosy and comfortable holiday let, with friendly gestures like fresh milk and scones at our arrival. The barn lacks nothing you could want, they even had a cot for the baby and gates at hand that I had forgotten to ask for. Our three older children loved every moment and didn't want to leave. They enjoyed feeding and milking the cows and playing on the trampoline and garden area. We all loved the fire place as we watched a video and played Lego. I hope we will have the chance to come back. Very impressed by the space in the barn and the surrounding area. Thanks for a great break.

We were made to feel most welcome, fresh milk from the farm and scones awaited us. The accommodation was as described and we enjoyed spending time here and in the surrounding area

This was a lovely place. The cottage is nicely done up, with all mod cons. The surrounding countryside is very pretty. It is also very convenient (if you have a car) for Kinsale and the coast, as well as for Cork and its airport. Michael and Eileen were very easy to deal with and offered a warm welcome, including some milk straight off the farm, which was a real treat!

Really enjoyed our stay at The Barn, a very nice accommodation and Michael was a good host. Would be a good place to stay for a holiday in Kinsale, although you would definitely need a car to get around and in and out of town as the location is very remote with no amenities close by, and the local taxi company is expensive (€20+ each way) and unreliable at times. Something to keep in mind if going for a drink in the evening. But otherwise, an affordable and comfortable accommodation. Would stay here again.
